One Click Dubai repairs Breville and Sage espresso machines at home across Dubai, with a technician sent the same day. Breville and Sage are the same company under two names, and we repair the Barista Express, Barista Pro, Barista Touch, Bambino, Infuser, Dual Boiler and Oracle machines, whichever name is on the front.

A Breville is a machine you can learn to read. A gauge, a grinder, a steam wand and a portafilter all give you clues when something is wrong, and many problems that look like faults are a setting, a basket or a grind. This page separates the two. It says what you can fix yourself, what needs a technician, and which parts of each Breville family give up first.

We repair on site wherever we can. A machine that needs bench work is collected and brought back, and the price is agreed before we start.

## Breville and Sage coffee machine repair in Dubai: what we fix and what it costs

A Breville repair begins with an AED 100 diagnostic visit, plus 5% VAT, at which the technician finds the fault. You are then given one fixed price and decide whether to go ahead. The Breville repairs we do cost between AED 80 and AED 400, according to the fault.

| At a glance | |
| --- | --- |
| Response | Same day, with bookings taken at any hour |
| Machines | Breville and Sage espresso machines with built-in grinders (Barista Express, Pro, Touch, Oracle) and without (Bambino, Infuser, Dual Boiler) |
| Where the work is done | At your home or office. Machines that need bench work are collected and returned |
| Parts | Genuine parts |
| Diagnostic | AED 100 plus VAT, with no night or weekend surcharge |
| Repair | AED 80 to AED 400, fixed before work starts |
| Warranty on our work | One month on parts and labour |

This is the order of cost for the usual Breville jobs inside that range. It is not a quote.

| Repair | Where it falls in the range |
| --- | --- |
| Descale and flush | Lower end |
| Group head gasket and shower screen | Lower end |
| Steam wand tip, seal or valve | Lower to middle |
| Portafilter and basket issues | Lower end |
| Water tank seal, socket or hose | Lower to middle |
| Pump | Middle |
| Solenoid valve or over-pressure valve | Middle |
| Thermal fuse or temperature sensor | Middle |
| Grinder burrs, adjustment ring or motor | Middle to upper |
| Thermocoil, ThermoJet or boiler | Upper end |
| Control board or touchscreen | Upper end |

Scale is what separates the cheap Breville repairs from the dear ones. A machine that has been descaled on time usually needs a gasket, a screen or a valve. One that has not usually needs a heating part, and Breville heaters are among the most costly parts to replace. Our [guide to descaling a Breville or Sage machine](https://oneclickdubai.com/guides/how-to-descale-a-breville-coffee-machine) explains the descale and the cleaning cycle, which are different jobs.

## Breville or Sage? Names, model codes and what they mean

Breville sells under its own name in some countries and as Sage in others, and in the UAE you will find both. The machines are the same designs, with the same parts, and the model codes differ by a letter or a digit. We repair both.

| Breville code | Sage code | Name | Built-in grinder? |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| BES870 | SES875 | Barista Express | Yes |
| BES878 | SES878 | Barista Pro | Yes |
| BES880 | SES880 | Barista Touch | Yes |
| BES450 | SES450 | Bambino | No |
| BES500 | SES500 | Bambino Plus | No |
| BES840 | SES840 | The Infuser | No |
| BES920 | SES920 | Dual Boiler | No |
| Oracle, Oracle Touch | Oracle, Oracle Touch | Automatic grind, dose and tamp | Yes |

Codes can differ slightly by region and revision, and the rating plate under the machine is the final word. A photo of it when you book lets the technician bring the right gasket, screen and valve.

Whether the machine has a built-in grinder matters more than the name. A Bambino or a Dual Boiler has no grinder to jam, and a Barista Express has one, so the two have different fault lists.

## The Sage guarantee, and when to use it instead of a repair

Sage publishes the terms of its UAE guarantee, and they are clear enough to plan around. They apply to Sage machines. A Breville-branded machine bought from another seller may carry that seller's cover instead, which is on the invoice.

- The guarantee runs two years from the date of original purchase, and covers the first buyer only.
- It is for private household use. A machine used in an office, a shop or a café is outside it.
- It excludes failing to descale or manage scale build-up, damage from voltage fluctuations or an incorrect supply, accidental damage and misuse, normal wear and consumables, and repairs or modifications by anyone Sage has not authorised.
- To claim, you contact Sage customer support. If your machine qualifies, Sage sends a case number and a prepaid shipping label, and you send the machine back. Sage states that processing takes up to 15 business days, plus shipping.
- Sage chooses between repairing and replacing the machine, and does not refund under the guarantee.

| Your situation | Best route | Why |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Under two years old, Sage machine, genuine defect | Sage | It is free, and a repair by anyone else can count as an unauthorised repair |
| Under two years old, but scaled up or run on a faulty supply | One Click Dubai | Scale and voltage faults are excluded from the guarantee |
| Out of guarantee | One Click Dubai | Nothing to protect, and a same-day visit is faster than shipping the machine |
| Used in an office, shop or café | One Click Dubai | Commercial use is outside the household guarantee |
| Bought from another seller | Check that seller's terms first | They set the cover, not Sage |

A repair in Dubai is quicker than a claim that involves posting the machine and waiting up to 15 business days. Speed is not a reason to give up a valid guarantee, though. If your Sage machine is inside two years and the fault is a defect, claim first. We will tell you honestly if we think a fault should go to Sage.

## Breville families and where each one gives up first

The heating system, the grinder and the controls differ from family to family. That decides which part fails.

| Family | How it heats | Usual faults |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Barista Express, Infuser | Thermocoil | Scale in the thermocoil, shower screen blocked, group gasket, and on the Express a grinder that jams or loses calibration |
| Barista Pro, Barista Touch, Bambino, Bambino Plus | ThermoJet, a fast-heating element | Scale in the heater, steam wand tip, pump, and on the Pro and Touch the grinder. The Touch adds a screen that can freeze or fail |
| Dual Boiler | Two boilers, one for coffee and one for steam | Boiler scale, solenoid valves, gaskets, and temperature control and sensor faults |
| Oracle, Oracle Touch | Dual boilers with automated grinding, dosing and tamping | Grinder and tamping motors, sensors, boilers, and the control board |

Where a family has a built-in grinder, there are two machines in one cabinet. A fault might be in the espresso machine, the grinder or the electronics that link them, and the technician checks each in turn before quoting.

## Breville low pressure, weak shots, and what the gauge is telling you

A Breville with a pressure gauge gives you more information than most home machines, and also more ways to misread it. A needle that sits low or high is not always a fault. Work through the checks in this order before you book.

1. **Check the basket**: A pressurised, dual-wall basket makes pressure with a small hole in its base and forgives a coarse grind. A single-wall basket needs the right grind and dose to build pressure. Using a single-wall basket with a grind that is too coarse gives a low needle and thin shots, and it is not a fault.
2. **Check the grind and the dose**: Too coarse or too little coffee lets water pass with no resistance. Move the grind finer, one step at a time, and dose consistently.
3. **Use fresher beans**: Stale beans give little resistance and little crema, whatever the grind.
4. **Clean the shower screen**: Oils and fine grounds build up on the screen and block the holes. Remove it with a screwdriver and clean it, as the manual describes.
5. **Run a cleaning cycle and a descale**: A machine due for either may restrict flow.

If a clean screen, the right basket, a fresh grind and a descale do not change a low needle, the fault is in the machine: the pump, a solenoid valve that is not sealing, the over-pressure valve, or scale in the thermocoil or ThermoJet. The over-pressure valve limits the peak pressure, and one that is stuck or worn can leave the gauge reading very high or very low.

The gauge itself is a rough indicator. The technician fits a separate pressure gauge in a test portafilter and compares it with the machine's own reading before replacing anything. That tells a faulty pump from a gauge that is merely misleading.

## Dialing in a Breville: when it is the settings, not the machine

Sour, bitter, thin and flat shots are mostly a matter of grind, dose and time, not faults. A Breville gives you the controls to fix them, and a technician is only needed once the controls stop working.

| What you taste or see | What it points to | What to change |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Sour and sharp, shot runs through in under about 20 seconds | Under-extracted: grind too coarse or dose too low | Grind finer, or add a little more coffee |
| Bitter and harsh, shot drags past about 35 seconds | Over-extracted: grind too fine or dose too high | Grind coarser |
| Good taste, almost no crema | Stale beans, or a single-wall basket with a coarse grind | Use fresher beans and grind finer |
| A thick foam that vanishes fast and tastes thin | A pressurised basket making the foam | Move to a single-wall basket and learn the grind, or accept the result |
| The shot starts fast, then stalls or sprays | Channelling from uneven distribution or an uneven tamp | Level the grounds and tamp flat |
| Different every shot with the same settings | Stale beans, a sticking chute, or a grind ring that has slipped | Use fresh beans. If the dial no longer changes the result, book a visit |

A shot of about 25 to 30 seconds from the moment the pump starts is a sensible target. Treat it as a starting point and adjust to taste. Change one thing at a time, and pull a couple of shots after each grind change, since the grinder holds some coffee in its chute from before.

If you have moved the grind through its whole range and the shot time barely changes, the machine has a problem. A slipped internal ring, a jammed chute or a pump that cannot build pressure are the likely causes, and a technician can tell which in a few minutes.

## Breville group head and portafilter leaks

The group head is where the portafilter locks in and hot water meets the coffee. A leak here is common on a machine that is a year or two old, and it is often the gasket.

| What you see | Likely cause | What to do |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Water drips around the portafilter during a shot | Hardened or worn group head gasket | Replace the gasket |
| The portafilter now turns further than it used to before it stops | Gasket gone hard and flat | Replace the gasket |
| Water comes out of the shower screen after you stop the shot | A solenoid valve not relieving pressure | Book a visit |
| Wet, sloppy puck after the shot | Blocked screen or valve | Clean the screen, then book a visit if it stays |
| Water pools under the machine when idle | Tank seal, internal tubing or boiler | Switch off and book a visit |
| Water drips from the drip tray area only | Tray full, or the tray is not seated | Empty and reseat |

A silicone group gasket sits against a hot metal head every time you pull a shot, and it hardens with the heat. A hard gasket seals less well and lets the portafilter turn too far. Replacing it is one of the cheapest Breville repairs, and it is worth doing before the leak has wet the parts around the head.

Check the portafilter as well. A bent or worn portafilter, or a basket that does not sit evenly, can leak even with a good gasket. The technician tests the fit and the seal with a blind basket.

## Breville grinder problems

The Barista Express, Pro, Touch and Oracle each have a conical burr grinder. A grinder that is loud, jams, or gives uneven results has a hard object in it, a chute clogged with oily grounds, burrs that have worn, a calibration ring that has slipped, or a failing motor.

- Loud, harsh grinding: something hard is caught between the burrs. Switch off and empty the hopper. Running on chips them, so book a visit.
- The grinder runs but little or no coffee comes out: oily or damp grounds are blocking the chute, or beans are not feeding from the hopper.
- The grind seems to ignore the dial: the internal adjustment ring has slipped out of calibration, or the adjuster is worn.
- Uneven grinding, with fines and chunks together: worn burrs.
- The grinder does not start: a motor, switch or board fault.

Oily dark-roast and flavoured beans coat the burrs and the chute and stop the beans feeding. Use dry beans, brush the burr chamber rather than washing it, and run grinder cleaning tablets as the manual suggests. Water in a grinder is how a lower-end repair becomes a motor.

### What the technician does

The upper burr is removed, the chamber is cleared, and the burrs are inspected for chips and wear. Worn burrs are replaced as a set. The internal adjustment ring is reset to its calibration point, and the grind range is checked from fine to coarse with the grinder running. If the motor or its connections are at fault, they are tested with a meter.

## Breville steam wand problems

A steam wand that is weak, spits water, or gives nothing is usually blocked at the tip. The holes are small, and a film of dried milk closes them within minutes of cooling.

- Wait for the steam light to stop flashing before you open the steam. Steaming too soon gives wet, weak steam.
- Soak the tip in hot water, then clear each hole with the pin from the cleaning kit.
- Purge the wand before and after each use, and wipe it straight away.
- On the Bambino Plus, wash the automatic wand parts as the manual describes.

If the tip is clean and the steam is still weak, the cause is further back. Scale in the steam path or heater restricts the flow, a steam valve does not open fully, or a thermal fuse has blown. A blown thermal fuse points to overheating, and the technician finds out why before fitting a new one.

A wand that drips steam or water from its base needs a new valve seal. The technician also checks that the heater reaches steam temperature, with a test at full steam pressure before leaving.

## Breville not heating, or slow to heat up

Slow heat-up and lukewarm shots are often scale. A thermocoil or ThermoJet heats water as it passes, and a coating of scale insulates the element and narrows the channel. The machine takes longer to reach temperature and delivers cooler water.

| What happens | Likely cause | What to do |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Heat-up is slower than when the machine was new | Scale in the heater | Descale. If it comes back quickly, book a visit |
| Shots are lukewarm even when ready | Scale, a low temperature setting, or cold cups | Raise the temperature setting, warm the cup and group, then descale |
| The power light flashes for a long time | Still heating, or a heater or sensor fault | Wait. If it never settles, book a visit |
| No heat at all | Blown thermal fuse, failed element or sensor | Switch off and book a visit |
| Steam is weak as well as coffee lukewarm | Heater scaled or failing | Descale, then book a visit if it stays |

Descale on the interval the manual gives, and more often if you see white flakes. The alert on the machine is a counter of use, not a sensor that measures scale, so a machine in hard water can need descaling before it asks.

The technician tests the heater's resistance and the temperature sensor and inspects the thermocoil or boiler for scale. Where the channels are blocked, the heating part is replaced.

## Breville cleaning lights, descale alerts and flashing lights

Breville machines tell you when they need attention, through lights on the simpler models and messages on the screen models. The wording differs, so your manual is final, but the meanings are consistent.

| What the machine shows | Usually means | What to do first |
| --- | --- | --- |
| A cleaning light or message | A backflush is due | Run the cleaning cycle with the blind disc and a cleaning tablet, as the manual describes |
| A descale message on a screen model | A descale is due, based on use | Descale with the supplied or approved descaler, following the manual |
| All lights flashing | Tank empty or not seated | Fill to the mark and push the tank in until it seats |
| Steam light flashing | Heating to steam temperature | Wait until it is steady |
| Power light flashing for a long time | Still heating, or a heater or sensor fault | Wait, then book a visit if it never settles |
| Erratic behaviour after a power cut | Settings reset or confused electronics | Unplug for a few minutes and restart. Reprogram cup volumes if needed |

A cleaning or descale alert that stays on after the job is done has not been reset, or the cycle was interrupted. Follow the reset steps for your model exactly. Do not clear an alert without doing the job. The alert is a counter, and clearing it leaves the oils or scale in place.

Treat a message that comes straight back as a fault. A tank warning with a full, seated tank may be a stuck sensor or a pump that is not drawing water, and the technician reads both directly.

## Breville will not turn on, shuts off, or the screen freezes

If the lights stay dark, power is not reaching the board. If the machine starts and then stops, or the screen freezes on a Barista Touch or Oracle Touch, the electronics are reacting to something.

- Test the socket with another device, and plug the machine into the wall directly.
- Check the plug fuse. A blown fuse looks like a dead machine.
- Seat the water tank and drip tray fully.
- On a touchscreen model, unplug the machine for a few minutes, then restart it. A freeze after a power dip often clears.

If it does not, the technician tests the cord, the power switch, the thermal fuse and the power board. A blown fuse or burnt board is a result, and the cause could be a short from a leak, a seized pump or a failed heater. A screen that stays blank while the machine works needs the display or its ribbon cable checked.

Never take a panel off a plugged-in machine. If a spill has reached the electronics, leave the plug out until a technician has seen it.

## Dual Boiler and Oracle: temperature control faults

The Dual Boiler and the Oracle hold the brew temperature electronically, with a controller that reads a sensor and switches the heater to keep the boiler at the figure you set. They also let you set pre-infusion, which wets the coffee at low pressure before the full shot.

| What happens | Likely cause | What to do |
| --- | --- | --- |
| The displayed temperature wanders widely | Temperature sensor fault, or a heater relay that is sticking | Book a visit |
| The machine never reaches the set temperature | Scale on the boiler or a failing element | Descale, then book a visit if it stays |
| Steam takes much longer than before | Steam boiler scaled, or a steam heater fault | Descale, then book a visit |
| Pre-infusion does nothing or gives a pressure spike | Valve or pump control fault | Book a visit |
| Shots vary a lot though settings are unchanged | Sensor drift, scale, or grinder consistency | Check the grinder first, then book a visit |

Because the controller trusts the sensor, a sensor that has drifted produces shots at the wrong temperature while the screen shows the right one. The technician checks the boiler temperature with a separate probe before blaming the heater, and tests the sensor's resistance against its table.

Both machines are worth the repair. A boiler that has been scaled for years is the one case where cost can climb, and we tell you before replacing it.

## Oracle and Barista Touch: the automated machines

The Oracle and Oracle Touch grind, dose and tamp for you, and the Barista Touch grinds and doses and has a touchscreen. The extra automation adds motors and sensors, and with them extra faults.

- The grinder does not dose, or the dose is wrong: a grinder motor, a dosing sensor or a blocked chute.
- The tamp does not press, or presses unevenly: a tamping motor, a sensor or a jammed mechanism.
- The machine stops mid-sequence with a message: a sensor reading something unexpected, often a blocked chute or a part not in place.
- The screen is unresponsive or the interface behaves oddly: a display or board fault.

These machines are among the dearest Breville models, and they are worth repairing. They are also the ones where bench work is most likely. The technician checks the grinder, tamp and sensors on site and tells you if the machine needs to go to the workshop.

## Breville with no water, or a pump that runs but delivers nothing

A Breville that runs the pump and delivers little or no water has a problem in the water path: the tank, the filter, an air lock, the pump, or a blocked heater.

1. **Seat the tank**: Lift it off, clean the seal and the socket it sits in, and push it back until it seats. A dirty seal or socket lets in air.
2. **Check the filter**: If the tank has a Claro Swiss water filter, an unsoaked new one or an old blocked one can stop the flow. Remove it and try again.
3. **Purge the air**: Run hot water or steam until the flow is steady. A machine that ran dry often needs this.
4. **Stop if there is no flow**: A vibration pump that runs dry overheats. Do not repeat the attempt more than a few times.

If the flow is still weak, the pump, a solenoid valve or scale in the heater is the cause. The technician measures the pump pressure against a gauge and checks the valves in turn.

## Water, filters and hardness on a Breville

Hard water shortens the life of a Breville more than any other single thing. The heater is a narrow channel, and every cup leaves a little scale in it.

- Set the water hardness on the machine, if your model has the setting, using the test strip that comes with it. The setting decides how often the machine asks for descaling.
- Use the water filter in the tank and replace it on the interval Breville gives. A spent filter no longer reduces scale, and a blocked one restricts the flow to the pump.
- Use fresh, cold water from one source, and change it daily. Water that has sat in the tank for days picks up taste and encourages growth.
- Empty the tank and drip tray if you will be away for more than a few days.
- Descale before the alert if you see white flakes in the tank or the spout, or if heat-up is getting slower.

None of this replaces descaling. A filter lowers the rate at which scale builds, and descaling removes what has built. Both are needed on a machine that makes several drinks a day.

## Repair or replace a Breville

On a Breville, the sums are usually in favour of repair, because the parts are standard and the machines last. The exception is a quote that climbs past about half the price of a similar new machine, and then buying new makes more sense.

| Machine | Usually worth repairing? |
| --- | --- |
| Barista Express, Barista Pro, Barista Touch | Yes for the common faults: gasket, valve, pump, steam wand, grinder. Check the quote against the half-price rule for a heater |
| Bambino, Bambino Plus | Yes for gaskets, valves, the steam wand and the pump. For a failed heater or board, check the half-price rule |
| The Infuser, Duo-Temp Pro | Yes. They are simple and last |
| Dual Boiler | Yes. It is a premium machine and well worth keeping |
| Oracle, Oracle Touch | Yes in most cases, and ask us about the cost before a board replacement |

We tell you before you pay when a repair is poor value.

## Breville machines in an office or café

Breville designs its home machines for a few drinks a day. In an office, a shop or a small café they run for hours, and the wear shows quickly in the parts that sit in the heat: the group gasket, the shower screen, the pump and the heater.

- Clean the group daily with a backflush if the machine is in constant use, not only when the alert asks.
- Expect to replace the group gasket far sooner than on a home machine, and have it checked on every service visit.
- Descale more often than the interval for home use, since the machine heats far more water.
- Book a regular service visit about every six months for a busy machine, so a small fault is found before it stops the morning.
- Remember the household guarantee does not cover commercial use, so repairs are your cost.

If the machine has become central to your business, a commercial machine is a better fit. We repair those too, from La Marzocco and Rancilio to Nuova Simonelli, and we can tell you if your Breville still suits the volume.

## Care that keeps a Breville out of the workshop

- Run the cleaning cycle with the blind disc and a cleaning tablet when the machine prompts you, and more often if you make many shots a day.
- Take the shower screen off now and then and clean it.
- Descale on the interval the manual gives, and set the water hardness correctly.
- Keep the group head gasket in view. When it hardens, replace it.
- Purge and wipe the steam wand after every use.
- Use dry beans, and keep the grinder chute clear.

A Breville treated this way tends to need a gasket and little else. For machines in an office, ask about a regular service visit.

## What happens at a Breville repair visit

1. **Send the plate**: A photo of the rating plate and a line on what the machine is doing, including whether the gauge reads high, low or normal.
2. **Pressure test**: The technician fits a test gauge in a portafilter and compares it with the machine's gauge, to separate a faulty pump from a gauge that misleads.
3. **Group, screen and gasket**: The shower screen and gasket are inspected, and the valve is checked for pressure relief.
4. **Heater and grinder**: Heat-up and temperature are checked, and on grinder models the grinder is run through its range.
5. **Price and repair**: You get one fixed price. If you agree, the part is fitted on the spot where possible.
6. **Test shot**: A shot is pulled and steam is tested before the technician leaves. You get a written invoice and one month's warranty on parts and labour.

Machines that need bench work are collected, and you are told first.

## Breville coffee machine repair near me: areas we cover

## Frequently asked questions

### Who repairs Breville coffee machines in Dubai?

One Click Dubai repairs Breville and Sage machines at home across Dubai, the same day. Message us on WhatsApp at +971 55 209 9785.

### Are Breville and Sage the same?

Yes. They are the same company and the same machines under two names, with slightly different model codes. We repair both.

### How much does Breville repair cost in Dubai?

Diagnosis is AED 100 plus VAT. The repair itself is AED 80 to AED 400 depending on the fault, and the price is fixed before work begins.

### Is my Sage machine still under guarantee?

Sage's UAE guarantee runs two years from purchase, for private household use. It excludes failure to descale, voltage damage, misuse and unauthorised repairs. Check it before anyone opens a machine that is still covered.

### Why is my Breville pressure gauge reading low?

Common causes are a coarse grind, too little coffee, stale beans or a single-wall basket used with the wrong grind. If those are right, the pump, a valve or scale may be at fault, and a test gauge settles it.

### Why is my Breville leaking around the portafilter?

The group head gasket has probably hardened. Replacing it is one of the cheapest repairs.

### Why is my Breville grinder so loud?

Most often a stone or other hard object is caught between the burrs, or the burrs have worn. Switch off and book a visit.

### Why is my Breville steam weak?

The tip is probably blocked with dried milk. Soak it and clear each hole. If the tip is clean, there may be scale in the steam path or a blown thermal fuse.

### Why is my Breville slow to heat up?

Scale in the heater. Descale, and if the slowness returns quickly, the heating part needs checking.

### The cleaning light stays on after I ran the cycle. Why?

The cycle may have been interrupted, or the alert not reset. Repeat it exactly as the manual says. If it stays, the electronics need checking.

### Do you repair the Oracle and Barista Touch?

Yes, including the grinder, the tamping mechanism, the boilers and the screen and board.

### Is it worth repairing a Breville?

Usually yes, because the parts are standard and the machines last. When a quote nears half the price of a similar new machine, buy new instead.
