One Click Dubai repairs De'Longhi coffee machines at home across Dubai, with a technician sent the same day. De'Longhi, often typed DeLonghi, is a common bean-to-cup brand in Dubai kitchens, and we repair the Magnifica, Magnifica Evo, Dinamica, Eletta, PrimaDonna and Rivelia, the Dedica, Stilosa and La Specialista pump espresso machines, and De'Longhi drip makers.

De'Longhi machines fail in a small number of predictable ways: the brew unit jams, the grinder clogs or seizes, scale blocks the water path, seals harden and leak, and the descale message refuses to clear. This page goes through each, along with the model codes that tell you what you own and the warning lights that tell you what is wrong.

Our first priority is to repair the machine where it stands. If a fault is complex and needs the workshop, we collect the machine, repair it and bring it back, and the price is agreed first.

## De'Longhi coffee machine repair in Dubai: what we fix and what it costs

A De'Longhi repair starts with an AED 100 diagnostic visit, plus 5% VAT. The technician identifies the fault and gives you one fixed price, and nothing is touched until you agree to it. Across the common De'Longhi jobs, the repair itself runs from AED 80 to AED 400.

| Question | Answer |
| --- | --- |
| When can a technician come? | Today, whatever the hour you book |
| Which De'Longhi machines? | Bean-to-cup (Magnifica, Dinamica, Eletta, PrimaDonna, Rivelia), pump espresso (Dedica, Stilosa, La Specialista) and drip makers |
| Where is the work done? | In your kitchen or office wherever possible. A machine that needs bench work is collected and brought back |
| Which parts go in? | Genuine parts |
| Diagnostic fee | AED 100 plus VAT, the same at night and at weekends |
| Repair price | AED 80 to AED 400 depending on the fault, agreed before the work starts |
| Guarantee | One month on parts and labour |

The list below shows where the usual De'Longhi jobs sit inside that range. It indicates the order of cost only, and your own price comes after diagnosis.

| Repair | Where it falls in the range |
| --- | --- |
| Descale and flush | Lower end |
| Brew unit cleaning, regreasing and seal replacement | Lower end |
| O-rings and internal seals | Lower end |
| Steam wand or milk carafe parts | Lower end |
| Water tank valve, hose or connector | Lower to middle |
| Pump | Middle |
| Flow meter, temperature sensor, thermal fuse | Middle |
| Grinder burrs or grinder motor | Middle to upper |
| Thermoblock or boiler | Upper end |
| Brew unit replacement | Middle to upper |
| Control board or display board | Upper end |

A De'Longhi that has been descaled on time usually needs a seal, the brew unit or the grinder. One that has not tends to need the thermoblock as well, and the thermoblock is one of the dearest parts in the machine. Our [guide to descaling a De'Longhi](https://oneclickdubai.com/guides/how-to-descale-a-delonghi-coffee-machine) gives the official steps for the Dedica, Magnifica S and Magnifica Evo.

## De'Longhi service center in Dubai: check the warranty first

If you are looking for a De'Longhi service center, check one thing before you book anyone: whether the machine is still under warranty. We are an independent technician and not an authorised service partner of De'Longhi. They are on your invoice or the warranty card in the box.

- If the machine is inside its warranty and the fault is a defect, the seller or maker's service is usually the right route. A warranty repair costs you nothing.
- Warranties generally do not cover limescale, damage from drops or spills, or a machine run on the wrong voltage. If your fault is one of those, a warranty claim will usually be refused.
- If the machine is out of warranty, or you need it working today, our technician comes to you. In most cases the repair is finished at your home.
- A machine imported from a 110 to 120 volt country is damaged by Dubai's 230 volt supply unless it runs through a transformer, so read the rating plate.

We will tell you honestly if we think a fault should go through the warranty. Read the warranty terms before anyone opens a machine that is still covered, ours included, since opening it can affect the cover.

## Which De'Longhi do you have? Model codes and families

De'Longhi puts a code on every machine, and the first letters tell you the type. That matters, because a bean-to-cup machine, a pump espresso machine and a Nespresso-system machine fail in different places.

| Code or family | Type | What it is | Where faults usually start |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| ECAM, ESAM | Bean-to-cup | Magnifica (including the Magnifica S, Magnifica Evo and Magnifica Start), Dinamica, Eletta, PrimaDonna, Rivelia. ECAM 22.110 is a common Magnifica S code | Brew unit, grinder, water path, milk system, descale counter |
| EC | Pump espresso | Dedica, Stilosa, La Specialista and other machines with a portafilter and steam wand | Pump, thermoblock, steam wand, group seal, portafilter basket |
| EN, ENV | Nespresso system | Machines De'Longhi makes for Nespresso, such as the Vertuo Next (ENV 120) and some Lattissima models | Capsule head, pump, scale. See our Nespresso repair page |
| ICM and similar | Drip and filter | De'Longhi filter coffee makers | Heating element, thermal fuse, switch |

The code is on the rating plate. On bean-to-cup machines it is usually behind the water tank, under the machine, or inside the service door. Send a photo of it when you book so the technician arrives with the right parts.

### Bean-to-cup families

- Magnifica and Magnifica S: the long-running family. Older ones have a simple panel of lights and a steam knob. Newer ones, including the Magnifica Evo, add a screen.
- Dinamica: a step up, with a coffee-dispensing spout that adjusts, an automatic milk system on some versions and, on some versions, app control.
- Eletta and PrimaDonna: the top of the range, with larger touch screens, an automatic milk carafe and more programming.
- Rivelia: the newest family in the range.

The families share the same working parts: a grinder, a brew unit that can be removed, a thermoblock, a pump and a flow meter. The way you reach them, and the way the machine reports a fault, is what changes.

## De'Longhi warning lights and messages: what they usually mean

Older Magnifica and similar machines report faults with symbols and lights. Newer ones with screens show the same faults in words. The exact look differs by series, so your manual is the final word, but the causes below cover most of what we see.

| What the machine shows | Usually means | What to do first |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Water symbol, flashing | Tank low on water | Refill with fresh water |
| Water symbol, steady | Tank not fully seated | Push the tank down until it clicks, and check the valve in its base for debris |
| Grounds container symbol, flashing | Container full | Empty it and fit it back. Do this with the machine switched on, since on most De'Longhi bean-to-cup machines the counter resets only then |
| Grounds container symbol, steady | Container or drip tray not seated | Remove both and refit them properly |
| Beans symbol, flashing | Bean hopper empty | Refill with beans |
| Pre-ground funnel symbol | Pre-ground selected with no coffee added, or the funnel is clogged | Add a scoop of ground coffee, or clear the funnel with the brush |
| Exclamation mark or general alarm, flashing | Brew unit missing, or service door open | Refit the brew unit and close the door fully |
| Exclamation mark, steady | Machine very dirty, or a fault | Clean as the manual says. If it stays, book a visit |
| Descale symbol, flashing | Descaling is due | Descale soon |
| Descale symbol, steady | Descaling is overdue | Descale as soon as you can. Errors become likely |

A message that returns right after you act on it is the one that needs attention. A grounds container that is empty and reseated but still shows as full has a sensor or switch fault. A water symbol that stays on with a full, seated tank has a stuck sensor, a flow meter that is not counting, or air in the circuit. The technician reads those directly with a meter.

If the water symbol flashes and the machine is loud or slow, many De'Longhi manuals tell you to prime the circuit: set the steam or hot water control to run, let water flow until it is steady, then return to normal. It clears an air lock. If it does not, the pump or the water path needs testing.

## De'Longhi brew unit problems

The brew unit, which De'Longhi calls the infuser, presses the ground coffee, passes hot water through it and ejects the used puck. It can be removed from the Magnifica, Dinamica, Eletta and PrimaDonna, and it is the part we replace and service most.

| What happens | Likely cause | What to do |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Brew unit error, or the machine will not start | Unit out of position, stuck, or not refitted after cleaning | Switch off. Take the unit out, rinse it, and refit it until it clicks |
| Machine moves the unit back and forth but no coffee | Dry or sticky unit, or a worn motor and gearing | Clean and regrease. If it persists, book a visit |
| Coffee is watery and the puck is sloppy | Blocked sieve or worn seals | Clean the unit and the sieve. Book a visit if it stays |
| Water leaks from the unit area | Hardened seals or a loose connector | Seal replacement |
| Grounds pile in the wrong place | Scraper or puck ejection fault | Book a visit |

The unit needs two things to live a long time. It needs rinsing under warm tap water at regular intervals, and it needs a thin coat of food-grade grease on its moving parts from time to time. A dry unit drags, strains the motor and wears the seals. Follow the manual for how often to rinse it, and do not wash it with detergent unless the manual says so.

### What the technician does

The technician removes the unit, checks its seals, sieve, piston and gear, cleans and relubricates it, and refits it. Worn seals are replaced. A cracked or badly worn unit is replaced as a whole. The technician also checks the motor and the position switch inside the machine, since a perfect unit can still be blocked by a failed motor or switch. Afterwards the machine runs a full brew cycle to confirm the unit moves, presses and ejects properly.

## De'Longhi grinder problems

A De'Longhi grinder that is loud, grinds nothing, or grinds but sends no coffee down has one of four problems: a hard object in the hopper, a chute clogged with oily grounds, worn burrs, or a failed motor. The first two are a common.

- Loud grinding with little coffee: a small stone or foreign object between the burrs. Switch off at once, empty the hopper, and book a visit. Running on chips the burrs.
- The grinder runs and nothing falls: the chute is blocked with damp or oily grounds, or the beans are not feeding. Empty the hopper and clear the chute.
- The grinder does not start: a motor, capacitor or board fault.
- Uneven grinding, with powder and chunks together: worn burrs.
- A grind setting that seems to change nothing: it was adjusted while the grinder was not running, or the adjuster is worn.

### Setting the grind: only while the grinder runs

On De'Longhi bean-to-cup machines the grind dial inside the hopper should be turned only while the grinder is running. Turning it while the grinder is stopped can strip the adjuster or jam the burrs. Move it one click at a time and wait for a few cups before judging the result.

Oily dark-roast beans and flavoured beans leave a film in the hopper and the chute that stops the beans feeding. Wipe the hopper now and then, and do not fill it with more beans than you will use in a couple of weeks. Beans left in a warm kitchen go stale and oily faster.

### What the technician does

The grinder assembly is removed from the machine. Foreign objects are cleared, the burrs are inspected for chips and wear, and the motor and capacitor are tested. Worn burrs are replaced as a pair, since a new burr running against a worn one grinds unevenly. The machine is then calibrated and tested on real beans.

## De'Longhi fill water message with a full tank, or no water

A De'Longhi that asks for water when the tank is full, or runs the pump with nothing coming out, has a water path fault. The cause is something between the tank and the thermoblock: a tank not seated, a clogged filter cartridge, an air lock, a flow meter that is not counting, or a failing pump.

1. **Reseat the tank**: Lift it out, look at the valve in its base for debris, and push it back until it clicks.
2. **Check the water filter**: If the tank has a filter cartridge, a new one that was not soaked first, or an old one that is blocked, can stop the flow. Remove it and try a cup of water.
3. **Prime the circuit**: Set the steam or hot water control to run and let water flow until it is steady. This clears an air lock.
4. **Stop if there is no flow**: Do not keep running the pump dry. A vibration pump that runs dry overheats and wears.

If those steps do not help, the technician checks the flow meter, a small turbine in the water line that counts the water going through. Scale or grit can jam it, and the machine then reports no water even though the pump is working. The pump, the tank connector and the thermoblock are checked in turn. A pump that hums with no flow has either worn out or is pushing against a scaled thermoblock.

The pressure matters as well as the flow. A pump that moves water but cannot build pressure gives thin, fast coffee with little crema. The technician measures pump pressure on pump espresso machines and judges it on bean-to-cup machines by how the brew behaves.

## De'Longhi leaking water

Unplug the machine, then look at where the water is. A leak that reaches the electronics costs far more than one that does not.

| Where the water is | Likely cause | What to do |
| --- | --- | --- |
| In the drip tray, which overflows | Tray full, or its outlet is blocked | Empty and clean the tray |
| Under the machine, even when idle | Tank valve seal, internal hose, boiler or thermoblock leak | Switch off and book a visit |
| From the service door or brew unit area | Hardened brew unit seals, or a hose popped off | Brew unit seal service |
| From the back, near the tank | Cracked tank, or a worn tank connector | Replace the part |
| At the base of the steam wand | Worn steam valve seal | Seal replacement |
| Around the portafilter on a pump machine | Worn group gasket or dirty shower screen | Gasket and screen replacement |

The seals inside a De'Longhi are rubber and silicone, and heat hardens them over the years. A seal does not fail overnight. It stiffens, then weeps, then leaks. A little water in the drip tray after a cycle that was not there before is the first sign.

Water under the machine that appears whether or not you have made coffee is internal. Unplug it and message us.

## The De'Longhi descale message will not go away

A De'Longhi counts the water it has heated and asks for descaling when it reaches a limit set by its water hardness setting. A descale message that stays after you have descaled has one of three causes: the cycle was interrupted or incomplete, the counter was not reset, or the machine is too blocked to complete the cycle.

### Why it stays on

- The cycle was stopped partway, because the tank ran empty, a step was skipped, or the machine was switched off. The counter has not reset.
- The descaling mode was not started in the way your model needs. Each series has its own button sequence.
- The descaler was not rinsed out fully, so the machine did not register a finished cycle.
- The water hardness is set too high, so the message returns sooner than it should. De'Longhi machines include a test strip for this, and the setting changes how often the machine asks for descaling.

Use De'Longhi's own descaler, EcoDecalk, or one the maker approves, and follow the steps for your exact model. Do not clear the message by any other method. A cleared warning does not remove scale, and the scale keeps damaging the heater and the pump.

### When it needs a technician

If a full cycle has been run correctly and the message returns, or the cycle cannot finish because water barely flows, the machine is partly blocked. The technician descales in stages, flushes the circuit until it runs clear, and resets the counter. If flow stays weak afterwards, the thermoblock, a valve or the flow meter is worn and is quoted separately. A machine that has never been descaled and is already slow should not have a first cycle run at home. A first cycle can free flakes that jam the pump.

## Weak, slow, cold or bitter De'Longhi coffee

When a De'Longhi works but the coffee is wrong, rule out how it is used first. Most of these need no repair.

| What you notice | Likely cause | What to do |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Thin and watery | Grind too coarse, aroma setting too low, or stale beans | Move the grind one click finer while the grinder runs, and use fresh beans |
| Slow, a few drops | Grind too fine, clogged brew unit sieve, or scale | Move the grind coarser, clean the unit, then descale |
| Bitter and burnt | Grind too fine, oily beans, a dirty unit or scale | Clean the brew unit and descale |
| Lukewarm | Temperature setting low, cold cups, or scale on the thermoblock | Raise the temperature setting, warm the cups, then descale |
| Small cup, then stops | Flow meter or pump fault | Book a visit |
| Different every time | Failing flow meter, worn unit, or inconsistent beans | Book a visit |

Settings are the cheapest thing to check. Many De'Longhi machines let you change brew temperature, aroma strength and cup size, and a reset or a long power cut can put them back to defaults. Look at the menu before you decide the machine has failed.

If the coffee is lukewarm after a descale, the temperature sensor or the thermoblock is at fault. The technician tests the sensor and the heater with a meter and replaces whichever is out of range.

## De'Longhi milk system problems: Eletta, PrimaDonna, Dinamica and Magnifica

De'Longhi uses three milk systems, and each fails differently. Find yours, then follow the fix.

### Panarello wand on the Magnifica S Cappuccino and similar

A manual steam wand with a frothing sleeve. The sleeve has an air hole that dried milk blocks, and a blocked hole gives flat, hot milk with no foam. Pull the sleeve apart, wash it, clear the hole with a pin, and purge the wand after each use. A wand that gives no steam at all has a blocked tip or scale in the steam circuit.

### Automatic milk carafe on the Dinamica, Eletta and PrimaDonna

The carafe draws milk through a tube and mixes it with air in the lid. Dried milk in the tube, the air inlet or the lid gives milk that spits, runs thin or does not froth. Wash every part as the manual says after each use, and run the machine's milk cleaning program as it asks. A carafe with a hardened or split seal draws air and cannot pull milk, and the seal is replaced.

### Steam wand on pump machines

The Dedica, Stilosa and La Specialista have a steam wand and, on some, a frothing sleeve. Steam that is weak, wet or absent has a clogged tip, scale in the line or thermoblock, or a steam valve that is not opening fully. Clear the tip first. If steam is still weak, descale the steam circuit or book a visit.

Whatever the milk system, a weak result with a clean tip and carafe points to the heater. On thermoblock machines the same heater makes the steam and the coffee, so a machine that is lukewarm tends to give weak steam too.

## Dedica, Stilosa and La Specialista pump espresso machines

The pump espresso machines have a portafilter, a steam wand and a pump, and none of the bean-to-cup parts. Their faults are the pump, the heater, the group seal and the steam path.

| What happens | Likely cause | What to do |
| --- | --- | --- |
| No pressure, or a drip of coffee | Blocked basket, a pump fault, or the grind is too fine | Try a coarser grind and a clean basket. If the pump runs with no flow, book a visit |
| Water leaks around the portafilter | Hard or worn group gasket, or a dirty shower screen | Gasket and screen replacement |
| Portafilter turns too far past the usual stop | Hardened gasket | Replace the gasket |
| Wet, sloppy puck after brewing | Valve that does not relieve pressure | Valve service |
| Weak or wet steam | Blocked tip, scale in the steam path, or steam valve fault | Clear the tip and descale. If it stays, book a visit |
| Machine overheats or shuts off | Scale in the thermoblock, or a thermal fuse that has blown | Book a visit |

A pump machine is simpler than a bean-to-cup, so it is also cheaper to put right. The common jobs are a gasket, a pump or a valve, and most of them sit at the lower to middle end of the range. The thermoblock is the exception, and scale is what ruins it.

Check which basket you use. Many De'Longhi pump machines come with pressurised baskets that are forgiving and give a fast crema, and with non-pressurised baskets that need a correct grind and tamp. If shots have gone wrong since you changed baskets or beans, that may be the cause and not the machine. The technician tests the pump pressure with a gauge before blaming either.

## De'Longhi will not turn on

If the display and lights stay dark, power is not reaching the board. If the machine wakes and then shuts down, it is often refusing to run for a reason it can detect, such as an open service door or a missing brew unit.

- Try another socket, and plug the machine straight into the wall, not an extension lead.
- Look for a power switch at the back. Some models have a main switch as well as the front button.
- Check the fuse in the plug. A blown plug fuse looks like a dead machine.
- Fit the water tank, drip tray, grounds container and brew unit fully. Many De'Longhi machines will not start if the service door is open or the unit is not in place.

The technician tests the cord and plug, the switch, the thermal fuse and the power board, in that order. A blown fuse or a burnt board is a symptom. The cause may be a short from a leak, a seized pump or a heater fault, and replacing the board without finding it means it fails again.

Do not open a machine while it is plugged in. If liquid has reached the electronics, keep it unplugged until a technician has looked at it.

## Repair or replace a De'Longhi

Once a quote passes about half the price of a similar new machine, replacing is usually the better buy. Below that, repairing is the better deal for most De'Longhi models.

| Machine | Usually worth repairing? |
| --- | --- |
| Magnifica, Magnifica Evo, Magnifica Start | Yes for the common faults: brew unit, grinder, seals, pump, descale. For a failed board, compare with the half-price rule |
| Dinamica, Eletta, PrimaDonna, Rivelia | Often. These are built to be serviced and cost far more to replace |
| Dedica, Stilosa | Yes for a gasket, pump or valve. For a failed thermoblock or board on a low-cost model, check the half-price rule |
| La Specialista | Yes. These are worth keeping |
| Drip and filter makers | Rarely. Replacement is usually cheaper unless the fault is a fuse or a switch |
| Nespresso-system machines made by De'Longhi | See our Nespresso page for model-by-model advice |

If we think a repair is not worth it, we say so, and the decision is yours.

## Care that keeps a De'Longhi out of the workshop

- Set the water hardness correctly with the test strip. It decides how often the machine asks for descaling.
- Descale when the machine asks, using De'Longhi's descaler or one the maker approves, and follow the steps for your model. Most makers advise against vinegar, because it can damage seals.
- Replace the water filter cartridge on time. An old one stops filtering and can restrict the flow.
- Rinse the brew unit under warm tap water at regular intervals and regrease it as the manual says.
- Empty the drip tray and grounds container daily, and wash the milk system after every use.
- Wipe the bean hopper now and then, and use fresh beans in a quantity you will finish within a couple of weeks.

A machine that follows these habits has fewer faults, and the ones it has cost less. If you run a busy office machine, ask us about a regular service visit.

## What happens at a De'Longhi repair visit

1. **Send the code first**: The ECAM or EC code from the rating plate, the message or lights on the display, and a line on what the machine does. It tells the technician which brew unit, seals and sensors to bring.
2. **Behaviour check**: The technician watches what the machine does: whether the brew unit moves to its home position, whether the flow meter counts water, whether the grounds container and service door register.
3. **Opening it up**: Panels come off and the technician looks for scale, dried milk in the milk path, and seals that have gone hard, before any part is replaced.
4. **Fixed price**: One price for the part and the labour. You can decline and pay only the diagnostic.
5. **Repair**: The part is fitted, the brew unit is regreased if it was touched, and the machine is cleaned and closed.
6. **Brew test**: Coffee from beans, a milk drink if your model has a milk system, and hot water, with a check for leaks. You get a written invoice and one month's warranty on parts and labour.

### Workshop jobs

Most De'Longhi repairs are finished in your home. The exceptions are a board with water damage, a thermoblock that needs the machine stripped, a fault that appears only after hours of use, and a part that has to be ordered. In those cases we tell you before we take the machine, agree the price, and bring it back.

## Frequently asked questions

### Who repairs De'Longhi coffee machines in Dubai?

One Click Dubai repairs De'Longhi coffee machines at home across Dubai, the same day. Message us on WhatsApp at +971 55 209 9785.

### How much does De'Longhi coffee machine repair cost in Dubai?

The diagnostic visit is AED 100 plus VAT. The repair costs between AED 80 and AED 400 depending on the fault, and is quoted at a fixed price before any work starts.

### Where is the De'Longhi service center in Dubai?

Check your warranty card for the seller's service route. If the machine is out of warranty or you need it working today, One Click Dubai comes to you and repairs it at home in most cases.

### Why does my De'Longhi say descale after I descaled it?

The cycle was probably interrupted or incomplete, the counter did not reset, or the machine is too blocked to finish. Run a full cycle with the steps for your model. If the message returns, book a visit.

### Why does my De'Longhi say fill water when the tank is full?

The tank may not be seated, the sensor may be stuck, the flow meter may not be counting, or there may be air in the circuit. Reseat the tank and prime the circuit. If it stays, the sensor or flow meter needs testing.

### Why does my De'Longhi say the grounds container is full when it is empty?

The container may not be seated, or the machine may not have registered the emptying. On most models the container must be removed with the machine switched on. If it persists, a sensor or switch has failed.

### Why is my De'Longhi grinder making a loud noise?

A stone or foreign object may be between the burrs, or the burrs are worn. Switch off and book a visit, since running on can chip the burrs.

### Why is my De'Longhi leaking from the bottom?

Water under the machine when it is idle points to the tank valve, an internal hose, or a leak in the thermoblock or boiler. Unplug it and book a visit before the water reaches the electronics.

### Can I descale a De'Longhi with vinegar?

Most makers advise against it, because vinegar can damage the seals and leaves a taste. Use De'Longhi's own descaler, EcoDecalk, or one the maker approves.

### Is it worth repairing a De'Longhi?

For the Magnifica, Dinamica, Eletta, PrimaDonna and La Specialista, usually yes. For low-cost models with a failed board or thermoblock, compare the quote with a new machine. If it is more than about half, replacing is usually better.

### Do you repair De'Longhi pump espresso machines like the Dedica?

Yes. We repair the Dedica, Stilosa and La Specialista, including the pump, thermoblock, group gasket, steam wand and valves.

### Can you repair a De'Longhi I bought abroad?

Yes, provided the rating plate says 230 volts. A machine made for 110 to 120 volts needs a transformer, or the supply in Dubai will damage it.
