Lelit is an Italian maker of home and prosumer espresso machines: the Anna, the Victoria, the Mara and MaraX, the Bianca and the William grinder, among others. They are compact machines with real boilers and PID or LCC temperature control, which makes them more demanding than a pod machine. They need time to warm up, they depend on clean water, and on the Bianca and Victoria a failed coffee-boiler probe disables every function, according to their own guides.

This page works through the faults we are called to on Lelit machines, using Lelit's own guides for the Anna, Victoria, MaraX, Bianca and William. It covers the flashing main switch on a MaraX, the probe alarms on a Bianca and a Victoria, the steam light that never goes out on an Anna, a grinder that stops after twenty seconds, and the backflush and descaling rules, where the guides disagree with each other. Where a guide stayed silent, we say so.

Book a visit and a technician comes to you, normally on the day you message us. He names the fault and the price before fitting a part, and repairs at your address when he can. If the machine has to go to the workshop, we collect it.

## Lelit machine repair in Dubai: what we fix and what it costs

The visit that finds the fault is AED 100 plus 5% VAT. Repairs after that run from AED 80 to AED 400 depending on the fault, and you agree the price before we start.

- Tell us the model name and the code on the plate, such as PL41, PL62X, PL91T, PL162T or PL72.
- We fit genuine parts, and the price includes the labour.
- Each repair carries a one-month warranty on the part and the work.
- We work at your address first. The workshop is for jobs that cannot be done there.

| Fault | What we check or replace | Where it sits in the range |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Alarm for a temperature probe | Probe, its connector and wiring, then the control board | Lower to middle |
| Main switch frame flashing, group only warm | Heater, thermal protection, level sensing, standby setting | Lower to upper |
| Steam light never goes out | Steam thermostat or probe, heater element | Lower to middle |
| Boiler filling alarm | Level probe, fill valve, pump, AUX wire | Lower to middle |
| No pressure or very slow shots | Pump, group clogging, solenoid, scale | Lower to upper |
| Leaks from the group, hoses or base | Group gasket, hose joints, boiler fittings | Lower to upper |
| Grinder stops, jams or hums | Burrs, foreign object, motor, capacitor, board | Middle to upper |
| Whole machine dead | Cord, fuse, switch, board and heater, in that order | Lower to upper |
| Scale damage | Descaling the hydraulic circuit, replacing blocked parts | Middle to upper |

If a repair would cost more than the machine is worth to you, we say so before you pay anything beyond the visit.

## Which Lelit do you have?

| Model | Type, from the guides | Facts the guide gives |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Anna (PL41 series) | Espresso machine with a Termopid (PID) temperature display | 220-240V, 50Hz, 1050 W; pump ca. 12/15 bar; 2.7 litre tank; the guide gives no boiler size |
| Victoria (PL91T) | Espresso machine with a temperature controller (LCC) | 230V 50Hz or 120V 60Hz, 1200 W; 300 ml boiler; 15 bar |
| Mara and MaraX (PL62, PL62X) | Heat-exchanger machine; the MaraX has an Xmode switch | PL62X in several voltage variants, see the next section |
| Bianca (PL162T) | Dual-boiler machine with a rotary pump | 800 ml stainless coffee boiler, 1.5 litre stainless steam boiler, 2.5 litre tank, 150 W pump motor |
| William (PL72) | Espresso grinder | 230V 50Hz or 120V 60Hz, 150 W |

If yours is missing, send the plate details and a photo of the fault and we will say whether we can take it before a technician is sent.

## Voltage: choose the right Lelit for a 230 volt country

Lelit sells the same machine in several electrical versions. That helps in the UAE, where the wall supply is 230 volts at 50 hertz, and it hurts when the wrong version arrives.

| Model and variant | Supply in the guide | Source |
| --- | --- | --- |
| PL62X and PL62X-EU | 230 V, 50 Hz | MaraX extended guide |
| PL62X-AUS | 240 V, 50 Hz | MaraX extended guide |
| PL62X-AS | 220 V, 50/60 Hz | MaraX extended guide |
| PL62X-100 | 100 V, 50/60 Hz | MaraX extended guide |
| PL62X-120 | 120 V, 60 Hz | MaraX extended guide |
| Anna | 220-240 V, 50 Hz | Anna guide |
| Victoria PL91T | 230 V 50 Hz or 120 V 60 Hz | Victoria guide |
| William PL72 | 230 V 50 Hz or 120 V 60 Hz | William guide |
| Desertcart UAE listing for a Mara PL62 | No voltage stated; the listing describes a 1.5 litre copper boiler with a heat exchanger and thermo-siphon system | UAE retailer listing |

- A machine marked 230V 50Hz, such as the PL62X or PL62X-EU, matches the UAE socket.
- A 120V or 100V version needs a step-down transformer rated above the machine's wattage; the Anna is rated 1050 W and the Victoria 1200 W. That advice is ours; Lelit's guides do not describe converters.
- Read the plate on the base before you plug in a second-hand or imported machine. Some Mara listings do not tell you which version you are buying.
- If a 120 volt machine has already been on 230 volts and went dark, leave it switched off and message us.

## Warranty and service: what Lelit says

We are an independent technician and not an authorised service partner of Lelit. There is no fixed worldwide term to quote.

| Lelit page or guide | What it says |
| --- | --- |
| MaraX and William guides | Covered by the warranty laws of the country of sale; terms come from the seller or importer |
| Victoria guide | Refers to national laws implementing EC Directive 44/99/EC |
| Lelit support by country page | Warranty, support and service are provided by the international retailer you purchased from for most countries; buying from a retailer outside your country may mean shipping and service costs, so buying locally is recommended |
| Lelit UAE company information page | Lists a registered address in Dubai South for BRG Middle East Trading DWC-LLC. The page does not call it a distributor or service centre |

The support by country page lists no UAE importer, service centre, phone number or email. It links the UAE to an online support portal that our tools were not allowed to open, so we cannot tell you what the portal offers. Where a guide says to contact the service centre, start by asking the shop that sold you the machine who stands behind it.

We are independent of Lelit. If your machine is under warranty through a UAE seller, ask them first. If it is out of warranty or the route is unclear, our one-month warranty covers the part and the work.

## Boilers and what they mean for a fault

The Lelit models on this page do not heat water the same way, and the way they do it changes what a failed part looks like.

| Model | Boiler arrangement, from the sources | What that tends to mean for a fault |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Victoria PL91T | One 300 ml boiler; the guide says the LCC adjusts boiler temperature | The guide says a probe short circuit or fault disables all machine functions |
| Mara PL62 | Heat exchanger with a 1.5 litre copper boiler, per the Desertcart listing | The guide gives a 24 minute wait and tells you to check the steam gauge when the group is only warm |
| Bianca PL162T | Separate 800 ml coffee boiler and 1.5 litre steam boiler | Two probes. The guide says a coffee probe fault disables everything and a steam probe fault leaves coffee working |
| Anna PL41 | Not stated | The guide describes a PID display and a steam ready light |

The last column is our reading of the alarm tables below, not a statement from Lelit. It is the reason the same word, probe, calls for different repairs on different machines.

## MaraX: flashing main switch, a warm group and the 24 minute rule

The MaraX extended guide treats two situations as alarms and gives the same instruction for each.

| What you see | What the guide says to do |
| --- | --- |
| Main switch frame flashing continuously | Turn the machine off and on and wait for it to reach the right temperature, 24 minutes. Check whether Standby is on; the guide's chapter 10 explains how to disable it |
| Group head only warm | Cycle the machine off and on and run some water. Wait 24 minutes, then check the steam gauge. If it reads 0, check the water level and that the tank is seated correctly |
| Water tank missing or empty | Fill the tank and reinsert it |

The shorter MaraX user manual lists the alarms as follows.

| Alarm | Instruction in the manual |
| --- | --- |
| Temperature sensor NTC1 disconnected or damaged | Contact the service centre |
| Temperature sensor NTC2 disconnected or damaged | Contact the service centre |
| Boiler filling phase exceeded the maximum time | Check the water tank position and remove any blockages, restart with the main switch, and contact the service centre if it persists |
| Water tank missing or empty | Fill it and insert it in its seating |
| Machine in stand-by | Lift the group lever fully, then return it to its initial position |

### Xmode and the mode switches

- The extended guide describes a two-position Xmode switch. It states that Xmode Steam gives priority to coffee and Xmode Coffee gives priority to steam, and that Xmode Steam is the factory setting.
- The shorter manual says the use mode switch is preset to ModeX and the temperature mode switch is preset to Warm.
- The two documents name the switches differently. If your machine behaves oddly after someone has touched a switch, tell us the position both switches are in.

## Bianca: the alarm table

The Bianca extended guide lists these alarms. Two alarms are shown as numbers, 04 and 05, alternating with the machine-ready icon. The rest are described by an icon and a meaning.

| Alarm | Effect, per the guide | Instruction |
| --- | --- | --- |
| No water in the tank | Not stated | Take the tank out, fill it with room-temperature water and replace it |
| Coffee boiler probe in short circuit | All machine functions are disabled | Contact the service centre |
| Coffee boiler probe faulty or disconnected | All machine functions are disabled | Contact the service centre |
| Steam boiler filling longer than 150 seconds | Filling alarm | Check the AUX wire under the machine, then contact the service centre |
| Steam boiler probe in short circuit | Steam functions disabled; coffee only | Contact the service centre |
| Steam boiler probe faulty or disconnected | Steam functions disabled; coffee only | Contact the service centre |

### Factory settings

| Setting | Factory value |
| --- | --- |
| Coffee boiler temperature | 95 °C |
| Steam boiler temperature | 125 °C |
| Steam boiler | On |
| Pre-infusion times | Off |
| Brew temperature offset | 0 °C |
| Stand-by | On |
| Temperature scale | Celsius |
| Programmable low flow | Off |
| Sleepy mode | Off |

Knowing the factory values matters when a machine seems to have lost its temperature: someone may have changed a setting. Reset the setting before you replace a part.

## Victoria: alarms and shot problems

| Problem | What the guide says |
| --- | --- |
| Low water | A tank icon appears. Remove the tank, fill it with room-temperature water and reinsert it |
| Temperature probe in short circuit | A probe icon appears and all machine functions are disabled. Contact a service centre |
| Temperature probe faulty or disconnected | Same icon and the same effect. Contact a service centre |
| Coffee runs too fast, no cream | Grind finer, use more coffee and press firmly |
| No coffee, or only drips | Grind coarser, use less coffee, press less, or backflush if the group is clogged |

The Victoria guide gives the backflush as a monthly job, using the blind filter and Lelit detergent sachets of 3.5 g. It tells you to use only natural descaling products in the water tank, and to attach the plug to the appliance first and then plug the cord into the wall outlet.

## Anna: the steam light, the PID and the 108 degree note

- The Anna guide says the PID is set at the factory to 95 degrees Celsius for coffee mode.
- In coffee mode, a temperature above 108 degrees makes the display blink, which the guide says is a warning that the water is too hot for a good espresso.
- If the ON light is lit but the ready steam indicator does not go off within 10 minutes, the guide's remedy is to contact the nearest service centre.
- For any fault, malfunction or damage, the guide says not to attempt repairs.

The steam-light entry is short: ten minutes, then service. With a full tank, a light that stays on past ten minutes points to the steam thermostat or its heater circuit, which is a technician's repair. That reading is ours, not Lelit's.

## Anna day to day: start-up, steam, hot water and the PID

The Anna guide is short, but it describes the sequence precisely enough to tell a fault from a skipped step.

| Step or setting | What the guide says |
| --- | --- |
| Plugging in | Fill the tank with cold water and reinsert it, checking that the tubes are not bent. Make sure the wall socket has the right voltage, then switch on |
| Heating time | About 3 minutes |
| Before first use | Open the steam and hot water knob, set the lever to coffee and press the pump switch |
| Steam | Set the lever to steam and wait until the light comes on. Open the knob, expect some water first and then steam. Close the knob after frothing, run hot water through the wand to clear the circuit and clean the wand after every use |
| Hot water | Set the lever to hot water, wait for the light to stay on, open the knob and lift the pump switch |
| Display when ready | The PID shows the set temperature and the light stays on. In steam mode, STE alternates with the steam temperature |
| Changing the PID | One press shows t1 for coffee, two presses show t2 for steam. Press the up button first, then use the arrows. The coffee range is 80 to 130 degrees and the steam range 120 to 140 degrees. The new value saves about 3 seconds after the last press |

Two of those lines point at faults. A bent tube is the first thing the guide asks you to check when you refill the tank, and a steam light that stays dark after 10 minutes is the case the guide hands to the service centre. If someone has changed t1 or t2, the machine may be doing exactly what it was told, so tell us before we replace anything.

## Victoria day to day: the bar, the gauge and the three second rule

| Step or setting | What the guide says |
| --- | --- |
| Start-up | Fill the tank with room-temperature water, press the main switch and wait until the bar is full and Ok appears on the display |
| First use | The boiler fill runs for about 40 seconds |
| Stand-by | Starts after 30 minutes of non-use |
| Steam | Press the steam switch and wait for the bar to complete. Never put hands or body under the wand |
| Hot water | Press the hot water switch and open the knob counterclockwise. An electronic control stops the water after a set time |
| Pump pressure | While dispensing, the coffee pump pressure gauge must be in the green zone |
| Settings | Press the minus button to enter settings and scroll, press plus to change a value, and the LCC stores it three seconds after the last button press |

The green-zone rule is useful. A gauge that sits low while the group is dispensing, with a clean group and a correct grind, is a pump or flow fault. The guide does not say what causes it, so that reading is ours. The guide also says the machine must be cleaned at least once a week, using a damp cloth on the group, the gasket and the fixing rims, and that the steam wand must be cleaned after every use.

## Plugs, adapters and extension cords

- The Victoria guide says not to use adapters, multiple sockets or extension cords.
- The Anna guide says to make sure the wall socket has the right voltage and not to let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter.
- The Victoria guide says to attach the plug to the appliance first, then plug the cord into the wall outlet.
- Unplug the Anna when it is not in use.

A machine whose plug does not fit your socket is a reason to ask the seller for the correct cord, not to stack adapters. The Victoria rule against adapters and multiple sockets is a written instruction from Lelit, and it is the reason we do not recommend a cheap plug adapter for a 1200 W machine.

## Backflushing: three Lelit documents, three schedules

| Document | Schedule | Method |
| --- | --- | --- |
| MaraX manual | Weekly cleaning and annual descaling listed; backflush detail in the shorter manual | Blind filter and one bag of detergent (F or PLA9201). Lock the portafilter, lift the lever for 10 seconds, pause 10 seconds, repeat 10 times. Rinse, then 5 more 10-second cycles without detergent |
| Anna guide | At least once a week and/or every 100 brewed coffees | Clean the steam wand and filterholder after each use |
| Victoria guide | Once a month | Blind filter and 3.5 g of Lelit detergent |

The schedules differ, so follow the guide for your own model. If you no longer have it, tell us the model and we will say what that guide says.

## Descaling a Lelit: yearly service or natural products in the tank?

This is where the guides disagree.

| Document | What it says |
| --- | --- |
| MaraX extended guide | The descaling of the hydraulic circuit must be done every year by a specialised technician; authorised centres are listed on Lelit's website |
| Anna and Victoria guides | Add only natural descaling products into the water tank. The Anna guide gives no frequency and says limescale depends on how often the machine is used and on water hardness |

The guides do not explain the difference between the two instructions and do not name a product. Do not put a household descaler in the tank unless it is sold as a natural one, and tell us what you have already used.

## Water: the resin filter and its limits

| Detail | What the guide says | Where |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Filter capacity | Tested capacity of 35 litres (PLA930S) and 70 litres (PLA930M) | MaraX extended guide |
| When to change | When the volume is reached or within 4 months of installation, whichever comes first | MaraX extended guide |
| Replacement rule in the manual | Replace after 14 complete fillings or after 4 months of use | MaraX user manual |
| After a break | If the machine is unused for one month, replace the filter | MaraX user manual |
| Included with Bianca | A 70 litre water softener filter in the equipment box | Bianca guide |
| Anna | Recommends the PLA930M resin filter, not included | Anna guide |

The Victoria guide asks you to replace the filter periodically because it loses effectiveness after treating a set volume of water. The MaraX guide says the filter must be changed once the cationic resin is worn out. That is why we ask for the filter date when you book.

## William grinder: 20 seconds, overheating and the service centre

| Problem | Cause and remedy in the guide |
| --- | --- |
| Grinder does not grind | Oily residue on the blades (clean the mills), blades set too close (use a coarser setting), worn blades or a foreign object (contact the service centre) |
| Motor does not run | Overheating from long continuous use, or the continuous time limit exceeded. Let it cool 15 to 30 minutes, or wait for the automatic reset |
| LCC display not working | Electronic fault. Contact the service centre |

- Continuous grinding is limited to 20 seconds. The switch section of the guide says 19 seconds, so treat the limit as 19 to 20 seconds.
- A warning icon appears on overheating. The guide gives both a cooling time of 15 to 30 minutes and an automatic reset after a 100-second wait, and the two instructions do not fully agree.
- Clean the burrs every 4 kg of ground coffee with the Lelit PL104 cleaning powder: empty the hopper, run the grinder to clear the beans, pour in one pack, press the switch for about 5 seconds, refill with beans and discard the first couple of doses.
- Wipe the outside with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the grinder or spray it.
- The guide says only an authorised service centre should maintain the grinder, with original parts, and that a foreign object blocking the blades should not be cleared by the owner.

A grinder that hums but does not turn, loses the display or makes a new noise is a repair. We open it, check the burrs, the motor, its capacitor and the board, and clear whatever is stopping it.

## Safety

- Never remove the portafilter during extraction. Both the Anna and MaraX guides say so, and the MaraX guide gives the reason as the risk of burns from hot water.
- Attach the plug to the appliance first, then plug the cord into the wall (Victoria guide).
- Do not touch the machine with wet hands or feet (Victoria guide).
- Do not immerse or spray the grinder (William guide).
- Do not attempt repairs yourself when the guide names a service centre. This is the guides' advice and ours.
- Keep the cord from hanging over the counter edge, and keep the machine and cord away from children under 8 (Anna guide).
- Hot surfaces stay hot for a while after use (Anna and Victoria guides). Never direct steam or water toward your body.

A machine with a flashing frame, a probe alarm or a leak underneath should be switched off at the wall until it is checked.

## Care routine for a Lelit

| Task | How often | Source |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Clean the steam wand and filterholder | After each use | Anna guide |
| Backflush | Weekly (Anna), monthly (Victoria); follow your own guide | Guides |
| Change the resin filter | At its capacity or within 4 months, whichever is first; one month unused means replace | MaraX guides |
| Descale | Yearly by a technician (MaraX) or with a natural product (Anna, Victoria) | Guides |
| Clean the William burrs | Every 4 kg of ground coffee | William guide |
| Check the water level and tank seating | Before you start | Alarm tables |

The tank check costs nothing and appears in every alarm table.

## Signs that are normal on a Lelit

| What you see | What the guide says |
| --- | --- |
| A 24 minute warm-up on a MaraX | That is the stated time for the machine to reach the right temperature |
| Display shows temperature intermittently above 108 degrees (Anna) | Described in the guide as how the PID display behaves |
| Stand-by on a MaraX | Lift the group lever fully and return it |
| Bianca factory values | 95 °C coffee, 125 °C steam, stand-by on |
| William rests after 20 seconds | The guide limits continuous grinding |

Anything that stays after you have done what the table says is a fault.

## Where the guides stop and a technician starts

| Situation | What the guide offers | What we do |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Any probe alarm | Contact the service centre | Test the probe, connector and board |
| Boiler filling alarm after checking the tank | Check the AUX wire, then service (Bianca) | Test the level probe, pump and fill valve |
| Steam light on past 10 minutes (Anna) | Contact the service centre | Test the steam thermostat and heater |
| MaraX still warm after 24 minutes and a power cycle | Check the water and the tank seating | Test the heater and protection |
| William grinder with a foreign object | Contact the service centre | Open the grinder and clear it |
| Persistent leak | Nothing in the tables | Trace and replace the gasket or fitting |

The guides send you to a service centre.

## What happens on a visit

1. **Booking**: Tell us the model, the alarm or icon, and your area.
2. **Arrival**: A technician comes to you, usually on the same day.
3. **Supply and water**: He reads the plate and asks about the filter before he opens the machine.
4. **Diagnosis**: He reads the alarm, then tests the probes, heater, pump, level sensing and group in the order the symptom points.
5. **Quote**: You hear the price first. A part goes in only when you agree.
6. **Test**: He pulls shots, or runs the grinder, before he leaves.
7. **Cover**: The part and the work carry one month of warranty.

If the machine must go to the workshop, we collect it, explain why and give you a return date.

## Repair or replace a Lelit?

No Lelit guide says when to stop repairing. The notes below are our own.

| Fault | Our view |
| --- | --- |
| Probe, connector or wiring alarm | Worth repairing |
| Clogged group, gasket, hose joint, level probe | Worth repairing |
| Steam thermostat or heater element | Worth repairing on a machine you want to keep |
| Board failure | Compare the quote with the cost of a new machine |
| Scale damage across the hydraulic circuit | Quote first; it can be a long job |
| A 120 volt unit damaged on 230 volts | Test first; the damage may exceed the machine's value |

If you buy new, ask for a 230V 50Hz version and for the name of the UAE seller who handles its warranty.

## Before you message us

- Is the tank full, seated and the right way round?
- Have you waited the 24 minutes on a MaraX after a power cycle?
- On a MaraX, are the two mode switches where you think they are?
- Does the resin filter date and the tank volume fall inside its limit?
- Does the plate on the base match the supply?

If the alarm is still there, switch the machine off at the wall and message us.

## What to tell us when you book

- The model name and the code on the plate.
- The alarm number or the icon shown on the display.
- The voltage on the plate, and whether a transformer is used.
- The date the resin filter was fitted and the last backflush.
- Any setting someone changed.
- Your area.

Add what you have already tried so we do not repeat it.

## Frequently asked questions

### How much does Lelit repair cost in Dubai?

The visit is AED 100 plus VAT. Most repairs then cost AED 80 to AED 400, and you approve the price before we start.

### Is there an authorised Lelit service centre in Dubai?

Lelit's UAE company page lists a registered address in Dubai South for BRG Middle East Trading DWC-LLC but does not call it a service centre, and the support by country page lists no UAE service contact. We name no centre and are independent of Lelit.

### Who gives the warranty on a Lelit in the UAE?

Lelit's guides refer to the warranty laws of the country of sale and say terms come from the seller or importer. Ask the shop that sold you the machine.

### Why is my MaraX main switch flashing?

The extended guide treats it as an alarm: turn the machine off and on, wait 24 minutes, and check whether Standby is on. If it persists, a technician should look at it.

### What does a probe alarm mean on a Bianca or Victoria?

The guides describe a coffee boiler probe in short circuit or disconnected as disabling all functions. They tell you to contact the service centre.

### My Anna's steam light stays on. What now?

The guide says that if the ready steam indicator does not go off within 10 minutes, contact the nearest service centre. We test the steam thermostat and heater.

### How often should I backflush?

The Anna guide says at least weekly or every 100 coffees, the Victoria guide says monthly. Follow the guide for your model.

### Do I need to descale a Lelit?

The MaraX guide says every year by a specialised technician. The Anna and Victoria guides say to add only natural descaling products to the tank.

### Which version of the Lelit should I buy for the UAE?

A 230V 50Hz version, for example the PL62X or PL62X-EU. The 100V and 120V versions need a transformer.

### How long should the William grinder run?

Not more than 20 seconds at a time, and the guide asks you to let it cool 15 to 30 minutes after an overheating warning.

### How often should the resin filter be changed?

The MaraX guides give 35 litres for the PLA930S and 70 litres for the PLA930M, or 4 months, whichever comes first.

### Is it worth repairing a Lelit?

Probes, gaskets, level sensing and thermostats usually are. A board failure, or damage from the wrong voltage, needs a quote compared with a new machine.
