A Siemens EQ fully automatic machine is a good appliance that asks for small, regular attention. Rinse the brewing unit, wash the milk system after every milk drink and descale when the display says so, and it stays out of trouble. Skip those jobs and the machine starts talking to you in messages: clean the brewing unit, descaling insufficient, refill with still water, error, please contact the hotline.

This page covers Siemens coffee machine repair in Dubai for the EQ.3, EQ.500, EQ.6 plus, EQ.9 plus and EQ.700 ranges and the built-in machines. We worked from Siemens's own UAE support pages: the display-message tables for the EQ.6 plus, EQ.9 plus and EQ.700, the EQ.9 plus problem list, the calc'nClean procedure, and the brewing unit and milk system cleaning pages. Where those pages say what to do, we pass it on. Where Siemens's pages go quiet, we say so and do not invent a code or a procedure.

If your machine is within its warranty, start with Siemens's UAE service team. If it is out of warranty, or you want it seen today, our technicians come to your home, villa or office, tell you the fault and the price, and repair on site wherever the machine allows.

## Siemens coffee machine repair in Dubai: what we fix and what it costs

Our visit costs AED 100 plus 5% VAT. That pays for a technician to open the machine and find what is wrong. Repairs on Siemens machines mostly land between AED 80 and AED 400, and you hear the number before a screwdriver turns.

- We attend on the day you message us in most cases. Message the model number from the type plate and a photo of the display.
- Parts are genuine, and one month of cover applies to the part and the work.
- Offices and cafés that depend on a machine get the earlier slot.
- If the machine needs the workshop, we collect it. On-site repair is what we try first.

The faults we see on Siemens bean-to-cup machines, from the lighter jobs to the heavier ones:

| Fault | Typical work | Where it sits in the range |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Brewing unit dirty or stiff, with the clean-brewing-unit message | Strip, clean and refit; replace seals or the unit if worn | Lower to middle |
| Milk system not frothing or not drawing milk | Clean the system, replace hoses and seals, clear the intake | Lower end |
| Water tank message with a full tank | Free the float, reseat the tank, check the filter and the level sensor | Lower end |
| Descaling message returning straight after descaling | Clear a blocked outlet, check the descaling result, replace a worn filter holder | Lower to middle |
| Drip tray message with an empty tray | Clean the contacts, replace the tray sensor | Lower end |
| Beans not reaching the grinder, or grinder noise | Clear the hopper, replace the grinder or its motor | Middle to upper |
| Water leaking under the machine | Replace a hose, a valve or a seal | Middle |
| No hot water, cold coffee, or the cool-down message | Test the heater and its sensor, the pump and the flow meter | Middle to upper |
| Error message that restarting does not clear | Read the fault on the board, then repair the part named | Middle to upper |
| Dead machine or unresponsive buttons | Check the supply, the board and the display | Upper end |

Heavier work is quoted after the technician has seen the machine, never from the phone alone.

## Which Siemens do you have?

Siemens's support pages sort its coffee machines into ranges. The model number (the E-Nr. on the type plate) is how the Siemens online assistant finds the right help, and it is the first thing we ask.

| Range | What it is | What Siemens's pages cover |
| --- | --- | --- |
| EQ.3 (EQ300) | Freestanding bean-to-cup | Cleaning and care guides, troubleshooting pages |
| EQ.500 | Freestanding bean-to-cup | Cleaning programme (about 9 minutes with one cleaning tablet), daily care pages |
| EQ.6 plus | Freestanding bean-to-cup with a milk system | Full display-message table, calc'nClean, brewing unit and milk system cleaning pages |
| EQ.9 plus (including connect) | Freestanding bean-to-cup, with a Home Connect version | Display-message table, a list of 14 problems with remedies, Home Connect message |
| EQ.700 | Freestanding bean-to-cup | Display-message table with the voltage and calc'nClean entries |
| Built-in (CT636, CT836 and similar) | Machines fitted into kitchen joinery | The page treats them in general terms |

The ranges share a way of working: a bean hopper, a grinder, a brewing unit you can lift out, a drip tray and a water tank. That is why the same handful of messages appear across them. The built-in machines put the same parts behind a cabinet front, which changes how a technician reaches them and not what fails.

## Who looks after your Siemens in the UAE?

Siemens Home Appliances has its own UAE service team. Its contact page lists a Dubai and Northern Emirates line and an Abu Dhabi and Al Ain line. The page does not state opening hours or warranty terms in its body, so check those with them before you rely on either.

| Your machine | Who to call first |
| --- | --- |
| Under the manufacturer's warranty | Siemens's UAE service team, with the receipt and the E-Nr. from the type plate |
| Sold with a service plan or maintenance agreement | The company named in the agreement |
| Out of warranty | Us |
| Built-in machine that came with a villa or apartment | The handover warranty paperwork, then Siemens, then us |
| Bought outside the UAE and carried in | Check the voltage on the plate (see the voltage section below), then us |

We are an independent repair company. We do not speak for Siemens, and a repair we carry out does not renew a manufacturer's warranty. If your machine is still covered, calling Siemens first costs you nothing.

## Siemens display messages: what Siemens says and what we add

The EQ range talks to you through the display. Siemens publishes the meaning of each message and the remedy it expects you to try. The tables below follow those pages. The last column is what we do when the remedy has not worked.

### EQ.6 plus

| Message or symptom | Cause Siemens gives | Siemens's remedy | When we are called |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Descaling message shown very frequently | Hard water, or a blocked beverage dispenser | Fit and activate a water filter, or clean the beverage dispenser and the milk system intake | The outlet is still blocked, or scale has built up inside |
| Please clean brewing unit, then replace | Dirty unit, too much ground coffee in the unit, or a stiff mechanism | Clean the unit. Use no more than two level measuring spoons of pre-ground coffee | The unit is clean and still stiff or worn |
| Please restart appliance | Appliance too warm, or dirty brewing unit | Let it cool down, or clean the brewing unit | It returns on a cool, clean machine |
| Descaling insufficient, repeat process | Wrong or too little descaler, or heavy scale | Run the descaling programme again | It fails twice |
| Please let appliance cool down | Appliance too hot | Switch off for 30 minutes | It comes back after a rest |
| Error, please contact hotline | Appliance fault | Contact Siemens service | Out of warranty |
| Refill with still water or change filter | Tank seated wrongly, carbonated water, stuck float, unrinsed or airlocked or worn filter | Reseat the tank, use fresh tap water, clean the float, rinse the filter, soak out the air, or fit a new filter | The tank is full and the message stays |
| Please empty drip tray with an empty tray | Emptying not detected with the appliance off, or a dirty tray | Remove and reinsert the tray with the machine on, and clean it | Contacts or sensor fault |
| Please refill bean container with a full container | Oily beans are not falling into the grinder | Tap the container, change the coffee, wipe the empty container dry | The grinder itself is jammed or dead |

### EQ.9 plus

The EQ.9 plus table shares many of those entries (bean container, drip tray, water tank, filter and brewing unit) and adds one: Home Connect is not working correctly, which Siemens answers by pointing you to its Home Connect site. For the descaling message that returns very often, it names hard water and tells you to fit and start the water filter as the manual describes.

### EQ.700

| Message | Cause Siemens gives | Remedy |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Please insert brewing unit | Cover fitted wrongly | Check the brewing unit sits and locks, move the red lever to the left, refit the cover |
| Please fill water tank, with a full tank | Tank seated wrongly, carbonated water, stuck float, unrinsed or airlocked or worn filter, limescale blocking the system | Reseat the tank, refill with tap water, clean the float, rinse the filter, soak out the air or fit a new one, clean the tank and descale |
| Please clean brewing unit | Dirty or stiff | Clean the brewing unit |
| Overvoltage or undervoltage | Power supply problem | Run the appliance only on a 220 to 240 V supply |
| Error in water system, please restart appliance | Appliance fault | Unplug, wait 10 seconds, plug back in |
| Please run calc'nClean, appearing very often | Softened water still has some scale, wrong or too little descaling agent, or a service programme not completed | Fit a new filter and set the hardness correctly, use only suitable tablets (Siemens says vinegar and citric acid are too harsh and can damage the gaskets), or run the special rinsing programme |

Notice how often the same three families come back: the brewing unit, the water tank and its filter, and scale. That tells you where to look before you phone anyone.

## Problems that show no message

Siemens's EQ.9 plus page lists fourteen problems. Most apply to the whole range. They fall into a few groups.

| What you see | Cause Siemens gives | Remedy it gives |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Coffee or milk froth quality varies widely | Limescale | Descale |
| No hot water dispensed | Dirty milk system or intake | Clean the milk system or its intake |
| Little or no milk froth | Dirty system, unsuitable milk or scale | Clean it. Use cold milk with at least 1.5% fat that has not been boiled. Descale |
| No milk intake | Milk system assembled wrongly or connected in the wrong order | Reassemble. Connect the milk system to the outlet system first, then the milk container |
| Cup quantity not reached | Grind too fine, heavy scale or air in the filter | Grind coarser, descale, soak the filter until the bubbles stop |
| No coffee, only water | Empty hopper not detected, or the coffee shaft in the brewing unit is blocked | Add beans. Clean the brewing unit |
| Machine no longer responds | Fault | Hold the on/off button for 10 seconds |
| Water filter will not stay in the tank | Not secured correctly | Soak out the air, reinsert, press it straight down |
| Coffee grounds wet and not compact | Grind wrong, or too little coffee | Change the grind. Use two level measuring spoons of ground coffee |
| Water drips inside when the drip tray is removed | Tray removed too soon | Wait a few seconds after the last drink |
| Drip tray will not come out | Grounds container very full, or the grounds slider stuck | Clean the brewing unit interior, insert the slider correctly |
| Outlet system will not assemble or come apart | Wrong sequence | Fit the outlet system with the milk system first. Take the milk container off first |
| No crema, acidic, bitter or burnt taste | Several | Follow Siemens's tips on coffee taste |

Siemens's own pages end each of these with the same line: if the remedy does not clear it, contact Siemens service. That is the point where a technician comes in.

## The milk system

Siemens's EQ.6 plus cleaning page is blunt about the milk system: clean it every time you make a drink with milk. Several of the EQ.9 plus problems, no froth, no hot water and no milk intake, list a dirty or wrongly assembled milk system as the first cause.

1. **Switch off and unplug**: The page tells you to pull the mains plug before cleaning and never to immerse the appliance in water.
2. **Push the beverage outlet down**: All the way down, then pull the cover off to the front and take off the milk tube.
3. **Remove the milk system**: Pull it straight forward. Separate the upper and lower parts, and take the milk tube off the suction pipe.
4. **Wash the parts**: Dishwashing liquid and a soft cloth, then rinse with clean water and let them dry.
5. **Reassemble**: Put the parts together, slide the milk system back in from the front, keeping it straight, and refit the cover.

The EQ.6 plus page says the upper and lower parts, the milk tube and the suction pipe may go in the dishwasher. For a deeper clean, it points to the machine's own milk system cleaning programme, which rinses automatically. Check your model's manual for which parts are dishwasher-safe.

### When cleaning does not fix it

- No froth with a spotless system points to the milk or to scale. Siemens says to use cold milk with at least 1.5% fat that has not been boiled before.
- Milk that will not draw after a correct reassembly can come from a worn hose or seal, which we replace.
- Hot water that will not flow on a machine with a milk system is listed by Siemens as a dirty milk system or intake first.

A machine run daily for milk drinks needs the system washed daily. Siemens's page says to wash the parts with dishwashing liquid and a soft cloth and then rinse them, so a quick rinse with water alone is not what the page describes.

## The brewing unit

Two of Siemens's EQ.6 plus messages point at the brewing unit: please clean brewing unit, then replace, and please restart appliance. The unit is the removable block that presses the ground coffee and pushes water through it, and it is designed to be taken out and rinsed.

### How Siemens says to clean it

1. **Switch off and unplug**: Turn the machine off at the main switch and pull the mains plug.
2. **Open the door and release the unit**: Slide the red latch fully to the left, push the eject lever fully down, grip the recessed grips and lift the unit out.
3. **Rinse**: Take the cover off and rinse the unit under running water. Rinse the strainer under a water jet.
4. **Wipe the inside**: Use a damp cloth on the inside of the machine to remove coffee residue.
5. **Dry**: Let the unit and the interior dry before refitting.
6. **Refit**: Put the cover back, push the unit in until it clicks, raise the eject lever and slide the red latch to the right.

- Siemens says to clean the brewing unit without washing-up liquid.
- Do not put the brewing unit in the dishwasher.
- Never immerse the appliance in water.
- Pre-ground coffee: use no more than two level measuring spoons in the drawer. Too much ground coffee in the unit is listed as a cause of the clean-unit message.

### What we look for when a clean unit still fails

- A unit that is stiff to slide in the guides after cleaning.
- Worn seals that let water or grounds pass the wrong way.
- A unit or cover that will not seat, which gives the insert-brewing-unit message on the EQ.700.
- Wet or loose grounds in the tray after a drink, which Siemens ties to the grind or too little coffee, and which we also check against the unit.
- A unit that cannot be saved. We fit a replacement and explain the price before doing it.

The EQ.6 plus page gives no fixed interval for the manual clean. It says to remove the unit regularly in addition to the automatic cleaning. Our suggestion is a weekly look in a home and more often in an office where the machine runs all day.

## calc'nClean: the descaling programme step by step

Siemens bean-to-cup machines combine cleaning and descaling in one service programme, calc'nClean. The steps below follow Siemens's page for the EQ.6 plus. Your own model's manual is the authority, because screens and quantities differ between ranges.

What you need: one Siemens cleaning tablet and one Siemens descaling tablet, both sold separately. Allow about 40 minutes and a container of 1 litre.

1. **Remove the water filter**: If one is fitted, take it out of the tank first.
2. **Open the programme**: Press menu, choose Cleaning and care, choose calc'nClean, and press Start/Stop.
3. **Empty the drip tray**: Put it back.
4. **Add the cleaning tablet**: Open the coffee grounds drawer, drop in one cleaning tablet and close it. Press Start/Stop.
5. **Fill with descaler**: Fill the tank with lukewarm water to the 0.5 litre mark and dissolve one descaling tablet in it.
6. **Position the container**: Place a 1 litre container under the outlet and put the end of the suction hose into it. Press Start/Stop.
7. **Wait**: Descaling runs about 28 minutes. If the tank runs short, the display asks for more descaling solution.
8. **Rinse the tank and refill**: Rinse the water tank, fill it with clean water to the max mark and replace the filter if you use one.
9. **Finish**: Press Start/Stop. About one more minute of descaling, then cleaning for about 7 minutes and a rinse.
10. **Empty the drip tray**: Put it back and wipe the machine.

### Warnings on Siemens's page

- Follow the instructions exactly. Siemens says that otherwise the appliance may be damaged.
- Wipe the machine with a soft damp cloth afterwards. Residue from the descaling solution can cause corrosion.
- Rinse new sponge cloths thoroughly. They may contain salt that causes rust on stainless steel.
- If the programme is interrupted, for example by a power cut, rinse the tank, fill it to max and press Start/Stop. The machine rinses for about two minutes for safety. You then restart the interrupted programme from the beginning.
- If descaling is skipped, the display warns you, and the machine will eventually lock. It can be restarted only after descaling is completed.

### Vinegar and citric acid

Siemens's EQ.700 page tells owners to use only suitable descaling tablets and to avoid home remedies such as vinegar or citric acid, because they are too harsh and can damage the gaskets. We follow that. If a machine has already been through vinegar and now leaks or keeps repeating the descaling message, tell us .

For the general method behind descaling any coffee machine, see our [guide to descaling a coffee machine](https://oneclickdubai.com/guides/how-to-descale-a-coffee-machine).

## Descaling message back too soon?

These are the reasons Siemens's EQ.6 plus, EQ.9 plus and EQ.700 pages give for a descale message that keeps returning.

- Water is hard and no filter is fitted. Siemens says to insert and activate a water filter, which also lengthens the interval between descaling programmes.
- A softened supply still carries some scale. Fit a new filter and set the hardness level correctly.
- The wrong descaler or too little of it. Use Siemens tablets or an equivalent made for the machine, and the quantity the manual gives.
- The service programme did not finish. The EQ.700 page names the special rinsing programme for this.
- A blocked beverage dispenser. The EQ.6 plus table lists this beside hard water, and tells you to clean the dispenser and the milk system intake.

A machine that has been descaled correctly, with a good filter, and still demands another run within days needs a technician to look for a blocked outlet or scale deeper in the machine.

## The water tank, the float and the filter

The refill-with-still-water message fills Siemens's tables because so many things can trigger it. The tank is full and the machine says it is empty. Siemens lists these causes.

1. **Reseat the tank**: Push it fully home. Siemens lists a tank that is not inserted properly first.
2. **Check the water**: Carbonated water in the tank triggers the message. Use fresh tap water.
3. **Look at the float**: A stuck float in the tank gives the same message. Remove the tank and clean it thoroughly.
4. **Check the filter**: A new filter that was not rinsed, a filter with air trapped in it, and a worn-out filter are all listed. Soak the filter until no bubbles rise, then reinsert it.

The EQ.700 page adds limescale in the tank blocking the system, which it answers with a thorough tank clean and the descaling programme. If all four checks fail, the level sensor or the water inlet may be at fault, and that needs the machine opened.

## Power and voltage

The EQ.700 table includes an overvoltage or undervoltage message and answers it with one line: run the appliance only on a 220 to 240 V supply. That fits the UAE's single-phase supply, which is 230 V.

- A Siemens machine sold in the UAE should be rated for this supply. The plate shows the voltage.
- A machine bought in the United States or for a 120 V market needs a model rated for 230 V or a proper transformer. We check the plate before anything else.
- Plug the machine into a wall socket that is in good order, not an extension reel under load.
- If the message appears on a correct supply, tell us. We test the board and the power section.

For a restart, Siemens's own advice on a water-system error is to unplug, wait ten seconds and plug back in. On an unresponsive EQ.9 plus, hold the on/off button for ten seconds. Neither is a repair, and a fault that returns after either one needs a technician.

## Parts we fit on Siemens coffee machines

| Part | What it does | Sign of wear |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Brewing unit and its seals | Presses the coffee and passes the water | Clean-unit message, wet grounds, leaks at the door |
| Grinder and motor | Grinds the beans | Loud grinding, no grinding, empty-hopper message with beans in it |
| Pump | Pushes water through the unit | Weak or no water, loud pump noise |
| Heater and temperature sensor | Heat the water | Cold coffee, cool-down messages, no hot water |
| Flow meter | Measures the water | Short or long cups, quantity not reached |
| Valves and hoses | Direct water and steam | Leaks, milk system not working |
| Milk system parts | Draw and froth milk | No froth, no hot water, no milk intake |
| Water tank, float and filter holder | Hold and detect the water | Refill message with a full tank |
| Drip tray and sensor | Collect water and detect the tray | Empty-tray message with an empty tray |
| Control board and display | Run the machine | Dead machine, wrong messages |

Parts are genuine. If a part is no longer made for an older machine, we say so before the quote.

## What a Siemens repair visit includes

- We ask what the display says, when it started, and when the machine was last descaled and cleaned.
- We check the supply, the water tank, the filter and the drip tray first.
- We lift out the brewing unit, check how it moves, and look inside the machine.
- We test the grinder, the pump, the heater and the sensors as the fault requires.
- You get one price in writing before we fit anything.
- After the repair we make drinks, check the temperature and the milk system, and show you what changed.
- One month of cover applies to the work.

If a machine has to leave you for the workshop, we say why and for how long before we take it.

## Built-in Siemens coffee machines

The CT636 and CT836 series are Siemens's built-in coffee machines.

- A built-in machine has to come out of its housing before most repairs, and a technician does that with the power off.
- The cabinet, the nearby appliances and the socket behind the unit decide how easily it comes out.
- For an error on one of these, send the model number and the exact words on the display. We will tell you what we find on the visit.

Send the model number from the type plate, and a photo of the display.

## Repair or replace a Siemens?

Compare our quote with the price of a new machine in the same class. Around half or more of the new price is the point to stop and think. Most Siemens repairs are far below that.

| Fault | Our usual advice | Reason |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Clean-brewing-unit message that persists | Repair | Brewing unit work is routine |
| Water tank message, drip tray message | Repair | Small parts |
| Milk system faults | Repair | Hoses and seals are inexpensive |
| Leaks from a hose or valve | Repair | A replacement part does the job |
| Grinder or pump on a machine in good order | Repair | A modest cost against a new machine |
| Heater or board on an older machine | Compare the quote | Check the quote against the machine's age |
| Machine with years of scale and repeated faults | Lean to replacing | More than one fault in a short time |

We say so if a new machine is the better buy, and then you pay the visit fee only.

## What to tell us when you book

- The range or E-Nr. from the type plate, with a photo if you can.
- The exact words on the display.
- What happens: no coffee, no milk, a leak, or noise.
- The date of the last descale and whether a water filter is fitted.
- Whether the milk system is washed after each milk drink.

Mention steps you have tried from this page and we continue from there.

## Frequently asked questions

### How much does Siemens coffee machine repair cost in Dubai?

The visit is AED 100 plus VAT and most repairs fall between AED 80 and AED 400. You approve the price before a part is fitted.

### Who repairs Siemens coffee machines in Dubai?

Siemens has its own UAE service team for warranty cases. We repair out-of-warranty machines at homes and offices, normally the same day: +971 55 209 9785.

### How do I descale a Siemens coffee machine?

Run the calc'nClean programme with one Siemens cleaning tablet and one descaling tablet. On the EQ.6 plus it takes about 40 minutes, with the water filter removed first.

### Can I use vinegar to descale a Siemens?

Siemens's EQ.700 page says no. Vinegar and citric acid are too harsh and can damage the gaskets. Use suitable descaling tablets.

### What does please clean brewing unit mean?

Siemens lists a dirty unit, too much ground coffee in the unit or a stiff mechanism. Rinse the unit under running water, without washing-up liquid, and do not put it in the dishwasher.

### Why does my Siemens say refill with still water when the tank is full?

Siemens lists a tank not seated properly, carbonated water, a stuck float, an unrinsed, airlocked or worn filter. Check them in that order.

### Why is the descaling message always on?

Hard water without a filter, a blocked beverage dispenser, the wrong descaler or an unfinished service programme. Siemens recommends fitting and activating a water filter.

### What does please let appliance cool down mean?

The machine is too hot. Siemens says to switch it off for 30 minutes. If it keeps returning on a rested machine, a technician should look.

### Why is there no milk froth?

Siemens lists a dirty milk system, unsuitable milk or scale. Use cold milk with at least 1.5% fat that has not been boiled, clean the system and descale.
