Cuisinart makes drip coffee makers, grind-and-brew machines with a built-in burr grinder, a single-serve brewer, a pump espresso maker and, in the UK, a fully automatic bean-to-cup machine. In Dubai they reach homes from two directions: American and Canadian models built for 120 volts, and UK models rated 220 to 240 volts. That split decides a good share of what goes wrong. The rest is the familiar list: a grinder that jams, beeping that will not stop, weak coffee from a clogged chute, a CLEAN light that keeps coming back, or a machine that will not switch on.
This page works through those faults using Cuisinart's own booklets: the DCC-3200 PerfecTemp, the DGB-900 and its UK twin the DGB900BCU, the DGB-2 single-serve, the EM-100 espresso maker and the UK EM1000U bean-to-cup machine. Where a booklet said nothing on a point, we say so instead of filling the gap. Retailer listings are labelled as retailer listings. The headline is the warranty wording: the DCC-3200 warranty is for U.S. consumers only and excludes converter use, and the UK booklets say theirs is valid only within the United Kingdom.
Book a visit and a technician arrives at your address, usually on the day you message us. He names the fault and the price before fitting a part, and repairs on the spot when he can. A machine that has to go to the workshop is collected from you.
Finding the fault costs AED 100 plus 5% VAT. After that, most Cuisinart repairs fall between AED 80 and AED 400 depending on the part, and you hear the price first.
Tell us the model code from the base or the booklet, and what the lights or the display show.
Parts are genuine, and the price includes the labour.
The part and the work come with a one-month warranty.
We repair at your address first. The workshop is for faults that cannot be finished there.

Cuisinart's booklets cover several families, and the rules differ between them. The model code is on the base and on the booklet cover.

Cuisinart makes other models too. If yours is not listed, send the model code and a photo of the fault and we will say what we can do before anyone visits.
Cuisinart's own wording is blunt. The DCC-3200 booklet says the unit has been designed for use only in 120-volt outlets and only with authorised accessories and replacement parts. The Canadian EM-100C booklet uses almost the same sentence. The UK EM1000U booklet gives a different supply entirely.

The retailer gives 110 volts where Cuisinart's booklet says 120. Both are North American supplies, and neither is the 230 volts at the wall in the UAE.
A 120 volt machine plugged straight into a UAE socket receives close to double the voltage it was built for. A step-down transformer deals with the voltage, and its rating must exceed the machine's wattage. That is our practical advice, not a Cuisinart procedure, and the DCC-3200 warranty wording on converters is the reason to ask before buying one.
Read the plate on the base before plugging anything in. If it says 120V, you need a transformer.
UK-market machines such as the EM1000U state 220 to 240 volts in their booklet. Read the plate on yours to confirm.
Ask the seller for the voltage and the market the machine was made for, in writing, before you pay.
If a machine has already been plugged into a 230 volt socket and failed, switch it off at the wall and have it checked instead of trying again.
Cuisinart warranty and service: what applies in Dubai
BookletTermTerritory and conditions
DCC-3200Three years from the original purchase dateAvailable to U.S. consumers only. Normal home use. Excludes damage from attempted use with a converter
DGB-900Three years from the original purchase dateA U.S. toll-free number is given for service
EM-100CThree years from the original purchase dateFor maintenance beyond cleaning, the booklet sends you to Cuisinart customer service
DGB900BCU and EM1000U (UK)Three years for consumer useValid only within the United Kingdom. In the first 12 months the product goes back to the point of purchase; after that Conair UK After Sales Service repairs or replaces it
None of the booklets is written for the UAE. A machine bought here or brought here sits outside every territory above. We are an independent technician and not an authorised service partner of Cuisinart. We are independent of Cuisinart. We give our own one-month warranty on the part and the work, which does not replace a maker's warranty where one applies to you.
What you see or wantWhat the booklet says
12:00 flashing12:00 flashes in the display for 10 seconds when the coffeemaker is plugged in
CLEAN indicatorTied to descaling. You start the cycle by holding the CLEAN button until the indicator flashes
Five beepsAt the end of the descaling cycle, five beeps sound and the unit shuts off
Auto OffSettable from 0 to 4 hours after the brew cycle has finished
Brew PauseStops the flow from the basket when the carafe is removed, 20 seconds at most
Power cut or unpluggingOne-minute protection if a breaker trips, the unit is unplugged or the power fails
Water filterThe booklet recommends changing it every 60 days or after 60 uses, and more often with hard water
The booklet gives these causes. too finely ground coffee, two or more paper filters, and grounds spilling over the filter.
Removing the carafe for more than 20 seconds during a brew cycle may make the filter basket overflow.
The unit takes the Cuisinart Gold-Tone Commercial Style Filter or a standard basket-style paper filter. The basket holds a number 4 paper filter.
A machine that brews slowly after the right filter and the right grind, or that will not heat, is a service job.
Descaling the DCC-3200 and the CLEAN cycle
1
FillFill the reservoir with a mixture of one-third white vinegar and two-thirds water.
2
StartPress and hold CLEAN until the CLEAN indicator flashes, then let go.
3
WaitWhen the cycle ends, five beeps sound and the unit shuts off.
4
Repeat if it lights againIf the CLEAN indicator lights again, repeat the cycle with fresh solution.
5
RinseRun one cycle with fresh cold water.
The booklet does not say what to do if the indicator returns straight after a second cycle with fresh solution. In that case scale is no longer the likely explanation, and the heater or the sensor needs a test. That reading is ours.
Cuisinart grind-and-brew machines: beeping, weak coffee and the grinder
The US DGB-900 booklet and the UK DGB900BCU booklet carry the same kind of entries, with small differences in the remedy.
Cause listedWhere it is listed
The bean hopper is not lockedUK booklet. A separate page says that if the hopper lid is not locked in place the appliance will not operate
The filter door is openUK booklet
The filter basket or its cover is missingUK booklet
Used grounds were left in the basketBoth booklets. The US remedy is to discard the used grounds
The UK booklet's remedy line reads: press On/Off twice to resume, and reset the programme if you had one set. Fix the cause first, then resume.
ProblemCauseRemedy in the booklet
Coffee weaker than usualThe coffee chute is cloggedClean out the coffee chute
Coffee weaker than usual (UK)Too few beans in the hopperAdd beans
Coffee weaker than usual (UK)The strength setting is wrongCheck the strength shown on the LCD
Grinder not working (UK)The coffee chute is cloggedRemove the hopper, lift the coffee channel cover, clean out the chute, then replace the cover and the hopper
Both the weak-coffee entry and the grinder entry in the UK booklet point to the same chute. A machine whose chute is clean, with beans in the hopper and the strength set, is past what the booklets cover.
Grind roasted coffee beans only. The US booklet says grinding other substances such as nuts, spices or unroasted beans may dull the blade and cause poor grinding or injury.
Do not over-pack the hopper. The booklet says over-packing may result in jamming the grinder.
Keep water out of the grinder motor. The booklet says the motor may become damaged and may malfunction if water gets in.
Clean the hopper and the coffee chute every one to two weeks depending on use (US booklet). The UK booklet strongly suggests once a week.
To clear the chute, flip back the coffee channel cover, brush the grounds toward you while facing the unit, and pull the grind chute lever toward you to send the grounds through (US booklet).
The wording of the UK and US entries differs slightly, but the habit they ask for is the same: the chute, not the beans or the water, is where the booklets look first when coffee turns weak.
A grinder that is silent, grinds but drops nothing, or makes a new noise is outside these entries. We open it, check the burrs and the motor and clear whatever is stopping it.
Descaling a grind-and-brew machine
The booklets give the same ratio as the DCC-3200, one part vinegar to two parts water. The details of the steps differ between the US and UK texts.
1
FillFill the reservoir to capacity with the vinegar and water mixture.
2
Start (UK booklet)Switch on and press Grind Off, then On/Off.
3
WaitWhen five beeps sound, switch off.
4
RinseRepeat the cycle once more with cold tap water (UK) or fresh cold water (US).
The charcoal water filter is changed every 60 days or 60 uses in the US booklet, and every 90 days or 90 uses in the UK booklet, more often in hard water.
Cuisinart DGB-2 single-serve grind-and-brew
The DGB-2 pages give clear rules for the flashing lights.
What you seeMeaning and remedy in the booklet
All button lights flashing in sequenceIt is time to clean the coffeemaker. The booklet points to its decalcification instructions
The Grind button indicator flashesThe grinder is overloaded. Power off, unplug the unit and wait 5 seconds; the Grind light should come back so you can grind again. If it still flashes, remove and thoroughly clean the burr grinder, and clean the chute as well
All Brew Size buttons flashThe coffeemaker is overloaded and can be used again after the lights stop flashing. If they do not stop, the booklet says to return the appliance to the nearest Cuisinart Repair Center
The Add Water indicator is litCheck that the water reservoir is properly filled
ProblemCause and remedy in the booklet
Coffeemaker will not brewThe piercing needle and/or exit needle may be clogged
Not grinding beansBeans may be too tightly packed. Do not fill above the Max Fill line
Coffee not strong enoughReduce the brew size for a stronger cup, or try an extra-bold coffee capsule
The front pages list a removable 48-ounce reservoir and a hopper that holds up to 100 g of beans. The brewer shuts off automatically when idle for longer than 30 minutes. If the Cuisinart Repair Center the booklet names is not reachable from the UAE, a flashing Brew Size row that never clears is the point at which to message us instead.
The EM-100C booklet has a feature list and safety rules but no troubleshooting section. For maintenance other than cleaning, it directs you to Cuisinart customer service on a Canadian number. The booklet's safeguards are therefore the useful part.
Use only cold water in the water reservoir.
Never remove the portafilter holder during the brewing operation, because the machine is under pressure.
An extension cord is not recommended. If one is used it must be grounded and rated for the same or higher wattage as the appliance.
Do not clean any parts or accessories in the dishwasher.
Pour cold refrigerated milk into the stainless frothing pitcher, approximately half full.
Hold the steam nozzle about a half-inch (1.25 cm) below the surface of the milk.
Do not let the steam spurt unevenly, because that creates large bubbles.
Stop the steam immediately when the milk is heated by turning the large function knob to off, and do not boil the milk.
The solution is one-third white vinegar and two-thirds water. Let half of it run through the brew head and the remaining half through the steam wand, then let one cycle of fresh cold water through the unit before brewing coffee again.
The feature list shows a 15 bar pump and the booklet says no more about it. If the reservoir is full, the machine is clean and descaled, and there is still no pressure or no steam, the pump or the steam valve needs a test. That test is ours to run, not a booklet procedure.
The UK EM1000U booklet is the most detailed Cuisinart document. It rates the machine at 220-240 V AC and 50 Hz, with about 1,550 W overall, a continuous-flow thermoblock heater of about 1,400 W and a pump listed at 15 bar. The tank holds 1.25 litres. The ambient temperature for fault-free operation is given as 8 to 40 degrees Celsius. The warranty is valid only in the UK.

EM1000U cleaning, descaling and the waste container
Run it monthly or when prompted. It takes about 8 minutes and must not be interrupted.
Use one commercial cleaning tablet made for fully automatic espresso machines, dropped into the ground coffee chute.
Afterwards, fill the tank with fresh water and brew one cup to flush residue, then discard it.
Use only Durgol Swiss Espresso. The booklet says other products are not covered by liability.
Put 250 ml of water and 125 ml of Durgol in the water tank.
It takes about 10 minutes in two phases, descaling and then rinsing, and must not be interrupted.
Descale at regular intervals and at the latest when the descaling symbol appears. How often depends on the water hardness you set in the machine's settings.
Avoid skin and eye contact with the solution. Rinse thoroughly, and rinse the brewing unit after every descale.
Empty the waste container immediately after each use to prevent mould, and clean it daily if you use the machine daily.
No coffee is dispensed while the machine flags the container as full.
Empty it only while the machine is on. Emptying it while off is not detected and can trigger an early prompt later.
After milk drinks, do a quick milk clean with 250 ml of water, and a full clean with cleaning solution when the machine prompts for it.
The booklet names a single descaler. Tell us the model and the prompt on the display, and we will say whether a visit is needed or whether the machine is only asking for a cleaning tablet.

Power, plugs and extension cords
The DCC-3200 booklet says the polarized plug fits a polarized outlet only one way and tells you not to modify the plug in any way.
For long extension cords, the DCC-3200 and DGB-900 booklets say the cord's marked rating must be at least as great as the appliance's.
The EM-100C booklet says an extension cord is not recommended, and that if one is used it must be grounded and rated for the same or higher wattage.
The EM1000U booklet says to use a supply that matches the appliance's rating.
An adapter that only changes the shape of the pins leaves the voltage unchanged. A 120 volt machine needs a transformer, and the DCC-3200 booklet's converter exclusion is a reason to ask first.
The DCC-3200 booklet says to use only Cuisinart-authorised accessories and replacement parts.
Never open the filter basket mid-brew on a drip machine. This is our advice: hot water and steam are under the lid.
Switch off and unplug the machine before you clean it, and let it cool before removing parts. This is our advice, and a basic rule for any heated appliance.
Keep the base, cord and plug out of water.
Stand back when steaming milk, because steam and hot water can spurt from the wand.
Do not use a machine with a damaged cord or plug.
Ask whoever you choose what warranty they give on the part.

We cover Dubai Marina, JBR, Palm Jumeirah, JLT, Downtown, Business Bay, Jumeirah, Al Barsha, Dubai Hills and Deira for Cuisinart machines. If you are outside those districts, ask us.
How much does Cuisinart coffee machine repair cost in Dubai?
+
The visit is AED 100 plus VAT. Most repairs then cost AED 80 to AED 400, and you approve the price before we start.
Is there a Cuisinart service centre in Dubai?
+
The booklets give U.S., Canadian and UK contacts. We are independent of Cuisinart.
Can I use an American Cuisinart in the UAE?
+
Only with a step-down transformer. The DCC-3200 and EM-100C booklets say the machine is designed for 120 volt outlets only, and the DCC-3200 warranty excludes converter use. UAE supply is 230 volts.
Why does my Cuisinart grind-and-brew keep beeping?
+
The booklets list a hopper that is not locked, an open filter door, a missing basket or cover, or used grounds left in the basket. Fix the cause, then resume.
Why is my Cuisinart coffee weak?
+
The booklets list a clogged coffee chute, too few beans or the wrong strength setting. Clean the chute first.
What does the CLEAN light mean?
+
It belongs to the descaling cycle. The DCC-3200 booklet says to fill the reservoir with one-third white vinegar and two-thirds water, hold CLEAN until it flashes, and rinse with fresh water afterwards.
Why is the grinder light flashing on my DGB-2?
+
The booklet says the grinder is overloaded. Power off, unplug the unit and wait 5 seconds. If it still flashes, remove and thoroughly clean the burr grinder and the chute.
Can I use vinegar on every Cuisinart?
+
The DCC-3200, DGB-900 and EM-100C booklets use white vinegar. The EM1000U booklet says to use only Durgol Swiss Espresso, so check your own booklet.
How often should I change the charcoal filter?
+
The DCC-3200 and US DGB-900 booklets say every 60 days or 60 uses. The UK DGB900BCU booklet says every 90 days or 90 uses.
Why does my EM1000U show Input voltage error?
+
The booklet says to check that the supply matches the appliance and, if it recurs, to contact Customer Care. That is a UK service line, so in Dubai message us.
Why does my Cuisinart show 12:00 flashing?
+
The DCC-3200 display flashes 12:00 for 10 seconds when the unit is plugged in. It is not a fault code.
Is it worth repairing a Cuisinart?
+
A grinder, chute, switch, pump or valve fault usually is. For a board on a basic drip machine or a unit damaged by the wrong voltage, compare our quote with the price of a new machine.
