Overview

One Click Dubai repairs 29 brands of washing machine at home across Dubai, with a technician sent the same day. Each brand has its own page with its faults, error codes and parts. This page is the index to them, and it explains what actually differs from one make to the next.

Washing machines look alike and work on the same principle, and yet a part from one will rarely fit another. Brands differ in how the drum is driven, whether the tub can be opened for a bearing repair, how faults are displayed and how parts are identified. Knowing those differences tells you what a repair on your machine is likely to involve before anyone opens it.

Washing machine brands we repair in Dubai: the short answers

We repair every washing machine brand sold in Dubai, front load, top load, twin tub and washer dryer. A visit starts with a AED 100 diagnostic, plus VAT, and a fixed price for the repair before work begins.

What actually differs between brands

Five things separate one brand's washing machines from another's as far as repair is concerned: the drive, the tub, the suspension, the controls and the way parts are identified.

FeatureVariantsWhy it matters for repair
DriveBrush motor with belt, inverter motor with belt, or direct drive with no beltDecides whether a no-spin fault is brushes, a belt, a sensor or an inverter module
Outer tubBolted in two halves, or welded shutDecides whether bearings can be replaced alone or only as a tub assembly
Door sealRubber bellows on nearly all. A steel-sealed door without bellows on a few premium machinesSeal replacement and mould problems
Fault displayLetter and number codes on a screen, or patterns of flashing lightsHow the fault is read before the machine is opened
Part identificationModel code alone, or model plus a second production codeWhether the right part can be chosen from the label
Water heatingInternal heater on most front loaders. Many top loaders are cold fill with no heaterWhether a no-heat fault is even possible
LoadingFront load, top load with agitator or pulsator, twin tubDifferent drive parts altogether

None of this makes one brand better to own. It decides which repairs are quick, which are major and which parts have to be ordered.

Drive systems: belt, inverter and direct drive

The drive is the biggest mechanical difference between brands, and it changes what a spinning fault means.

Drive typeHow it worksBrands that use itTypical faults
Brush motor and beltA universal motor with carbon brushes turns the drum through a ribbed beltOlder and entry-level machines from most European and regional brandsWorn brushes, snapped or slipping belt, tacho sensor
Inverter motor and beltA brushless motor with an electronic drive, still using a beltBosch and Siemens EcoSilence and iQdrive, Samsung Digital Inverter, Beko ProSmart, Electrolux and AEG inverter models, among othersBelt, motor module, wiring between the two
Direct driveThe motor is built onto the back of the drum shaft. No belt or pulleyLG across most of its range, and some Samsung, Haier and other modelsRotor position sensor, stator, wiring harness
Top load with clutch or gearboxA motor drives an agitator or pulsator and the spin basket through a clutchTop loaders from Whirlpool, Samsung, LG, Toshiba, Panasonic, Sharp, Daewoo, Midea and Super GeneralClutch, gearbox, capacitor, belt on some
Twin tubSeparate wash and spin motors in two tubsSharp, Super General, Midea, Singer and othersSpin motor, brake, timer, capacitor

A direct drive machine that jerks back and forth and stops usually needs a small sensor. A brush-motor machine that will not turn usually needs brushes. The same symptom, and a very different part.

Bolted tubs and sealed tubs

Whether a washing machine's outer tub can be opened is the single fact that most affects the cost of a bearing repair, and it varies by brand, by model and by year.

Tub constructionBearing repairWhere it is found
Bolted or clipped, two halvesTub is split, bearings and seal are replaced. A large but ordinary repairPremium machines, many mid-range models and most older machines of all makes
Welded, sealedBearings are not sold separately. The maker supplies a complete tub and drumMany current entry-level and some mid-range machines, across several brands
Top loadBearing and seal kit fitted from below or after lifting the basketMost top loaders

There is no reliable rule by brand name. The same brand may use a bolted tub on one model and a welded tub on the next. We check the model before quoting, and if the tub is sealed we give you the price of the assembly beside the price of a new machine so you can decide.

How each brand shows a fault

Every modern washing machine reports faults, and each brand has its own system. The code is the starting point of a diagnosis, not the conclusion.

Brand groupHow faults are shownWhat to note down
SamsungShort letter and number codes on the displayThe exact code and the stage of the cycle
LGTwo-letter codes on the displayThe code. ThinQ models can also report through the app
Bosch and SiemensE or F codes on the display, or light patterns on models without oneCode or which lights flash
Whirlpool, Ariston, Indesit and HotpointF codes on a display, or counted flashes of the indicator lightsThe code, or the number of flashes between pauses
Electrolux, AEG and ZanussiE codes on the display, or flash countsCode or flash count
Beko and BlombergCodes or light combinationsWhich lights are lit
Candy and HooverE codes, or flash counts on dial modelsCode or count
MieleText or F codes, and check lights such as inlet and drainThe message
Top load and twin tub machinesCodes on electronic models. No codes on mechanical timer modelsWhat the machine does and does not do

We print code meanings on the brand pages only where we could confirm them from the maker's own documentation. For anything else, send us the code with the model number and we look it up for that machine.

Brands that share designs and parts

Many washing machine brands belong to the same manufacturing group and share platforms, which is useful to know when a part is hard to find under one name.

GroupBrandsWhat they share
BSHBosch, SiemensMost mechanical parts and the E-Nr numbering. Controls and trim differ
Whirlpool-heritage brandsWhirlpool, Ariston, Indesit, HotpointPlatforms, motors, pumps and control modules on many models
ElectroluxElectrolux, AEG, ZanussiPlatforms and the PNC product numbering
ArcelikBeko, BlombergPlatforms and most parts
Haier groupHaier, Candy, HooverCandy and Hoover share platforms closely with each other
Hisense groupHisense, Gorenje, AskoOwnership. Asko's premium machines remain a distinct design
Midea groupMidea, Toshiba home appliancesPlatforms on many current models

Shared platforms do not mean any part fits. A pump or a board is still chosen by the machine's own model and production code. What sharing does mean is that a technician who knows one brand in a group already knows how its sister brands come apart.

Finding the model number on your brand

The model number is on a rating label, and on most front loaders it is inside the door opening. Send a photo of the whole label when you book.

BrandLabel positionCodes on it
SamsungDoor rim or back panelModel code and serial number
LGDoor rim or back panelModel and serial number
Bosch and SiemensDoor rimE-Nr (model) and FD (production date)
Whirlpool, Ariston, Indesit, HotpointDoor rim, or behind the filter flapModel and a 12-digit service code
Electrolux, AEG, ZanussiDoor rimModel and PNC
Beko and BlombergDoor rimModel and product number
Candy and HooverDoor rimModel and a product code
MieleDoor rimModel and serial number
Top loaders of any makeUnder the lid, or on the backModel and serial number
Twin tubsBack panelModel

The name printed on the front of the machine is a sales name. It is often shared by several versions with different parts inside.

Front load, top load and twin tub by brand

Dubai has all three kinds of machine in everyday use, and the brand often predicts the kind.

TypeBrands most often seenWhat repairs centre on
Front loadSamsung, LG, Bosch, Siemens, Miele, Beko, Ariston, Indesit, Electrolux, AEG, Zanussi, Candy, Hoover, Hotpoint, Gorenje, Asko, BlombergDoor seal, pump, bearings, heater, door lock, shock absorbers, control board
Top load, fully automaticSamsung, LG, Whirlpool, Toshiba, Panasonic, Sharp, Daewoo, Midea, Hisense, Haier, TCL, Super GeneralClutch and gearbox, suspension rods, drain motor or pump, lid switch, pressure sensor, inlet valve
Twin tub, semi-automaticSuper General, Sharp, Midea, Singer, Daewoo, KenwoodSpin motor and brake, wash motor, timers, capacitors, drain selector
Washer dryerBosch, Siemens, LG, Samsung, Beko, Candy, Hoover, HotpointEverything above for front loaders, plus the drying heater, fan and condenser

Top loaders and twin tubs are simpler machines, and most of their repairs are small. Front loaders wash better at lower water use and have more parts that can wear. For combined machines see washer dryer repair.

Premium brands: Miele, Asko, Bosch, Siemens and AEG

Premium washing machines are built for a longer life, and they repay repair for longer. They also have features that need the correct parts and method.

BrandWhat sets it apartRepair implication
MieleHeavy construction with cast iron counterweights and a patterned drum surface. Automatic detergent dosing on some modelsParts are specific and ordered by model and serial. Repairs are worth doing well into the machine's second decade
AskoA steel-sealed door with no rubber bellows, and a four-leg suspension in place of springsNo door seal to replace. Suspension service differs from other makes
Bosch and SiemensQuiet inverter drives, automatic dosing on some models, built-in versionsE-Nr and FD needed for every part. Built-in machines need careful removal
AEGSteam programmes and water-softening features on upper modelsAdditional valves and sensors to diagnose

On these machines we would nearly always repair. A bearing or a board on a premium machine costs a fraction of its replacement.

Value and regional brands

Brands such as Super General, Midea, Hisense, TCL, Daewoo, Sharp, Singer and Kenwood sell large numbers of top load, twin tub and entry-level front load machines in the UAE. They are straightforward to repair, and the questions are part supply and proportion.

Common wearing parts, such as pumps, belts, capacitors, inlet valves, timers and motors, are generally obtainable.
Model-specific electronic boards can take longer to source for some models. We tell you at the first visit if a part has to be ordered.
Because the machines cost less new, the half-price rule bites sooner. a repair above half the price of a new equivalent is rarely worth it.
Small repairs are almost always worth doing. Most faults on these machines are small.

For twin tubs in particular, a failed spin motor, brake cable, timer or capacitor is a quick fix that returns a simple, durable machine to work.

Brand by brand: what to know before a repair

These notes pick out the feature of each major brand that most affects a repair. The full detail is on each brand's page.

BrandWorth knowing
SamsungFront loaders carry WW or WF model codes, washer dryers WD and top loaders WA. Some models have a small second door set into the main door, which adds its own seal and latch. Bubble-wash models have a bubble generator fed from the detergent drawer
LGMost models are direct drive, so there is no belt to check. Steam models add a steam generator and its valve. ThinQ models can run a diagnosis through the app
BoschParts are chosen by the E-Nr and FD on the door rim, never by the series name on the front. Models with automatic dosing have dosing pumps and tanks in the drawer unit
SiemensMechanically close to Bosch, with its own control layout. The same E-Nr and FD rule applies
MieleModel and serial number are both needed. Automatic dosing models use cartridges and two small pumps
WhirlpoolSold here as both front loaders and large top loaders, which share almost no parts. Say which you have when you book
Ariston, Indesit and HotpointDial models without a screen show faults by flashing lights. Count the flashes between pauses and tell us the number
Electrolux, AEG and ZanussiThe PNC on the rating label identifies the exact version. Two machines with the same model name can have different PNCs and different boards
Beko and BlombergThe product number on the label matters as much as the model. Layouts are simple and most parts are quick to reach
Candy and HooverDial models show faults by flash counts. Connected models pair with a phone app, which can also report faults
HaierSold as belt-driven and direct-drive front loaders and as top loaders. The model label separates them
Toshiba, Panasonic and SharpMostly large-capacity top loaders with a pulsator in the base of the tub. Many are cold fill with no heater
Midea, Hisense and TCLFront load, top load and twin tub machines under the same badge. The model label is essential
Super General, Daewoo, Singer and KenwoodTop load and twin tub machines are common. Faults are usually mechanical and small
Asko and GorenjeAsko has no rubber door bellows and uses its own suspension. Gorenje front loaders follow a conventional layout

Installation faults that follow no brand

A large share of the faults reported in a machine's first months come from how it was installed, and they are the same on a Miele as on the least expensive twin tub.

Installation faultWhat it causesFix
Transit bolts left inViolent shaking and noise on the first spin, and damage if it is run that wayRemove the bolts
Machine not level, or feet not lockedWalking, vibration, early wear of shock absorbersLevel and lock the feet
Drain hose too low or pushed too far into the standpipeWater siphons out during the wash. Poor results and long cyclesHook the hose at the height in the manual
Drain hose kinked behind the machineDrain errors, wet laundryRe-route
Inlet hose on a hot tap, on a cold-fill machineTemperature errors, shrinkageConnect to cold
Extension lead or shared socketTripping, overheated plugs, random resetsA dedicated socket
Built-in machine with no plinth clearanceOverheating, rubbing doorCorrect the fit

If a new machine of any brand shakes, leaks or throws a drain error in its first week, check the installation before assuming a defect. We install washing machines and correct poor installations.

Faults that are the same on every brand

Most washing machine breakdowns have nothing to do with the badge. They come from use, water and installation, and the checks are identical on every make.

Repair or replace, by brand tier

Whether to repair depends on the machine's age, its build and the size of the repair. The brand tier shifts the answer.

TierExamplesSmall repairLarge repair (bearings, board, motor)
PremiumMiele, Asko, upper Bosch, Siemens and AEGAlwaysUsually, up to 12 to 15 years
Mid-rangeSamsung, LG, Bosch, Siemens, Whirlpool, Electrolux, Beko, AristonAlwaysUsually up to about 8 to 10 years, depending on the tub

Value top load and twin tubSuper General, Midea, Sharp, Daewoo, TCL, Singer, KenwoodYesRarely needed. Compare with new

These are guides, not rules. A well-kept ten-year-old machine can be a better repair than a neglected five-year-old one. Our guide to washing machine repair cost in Dubai sets out the decision with market price ranges.
