AEG coffee machines in Dubai are mostly the built-in kind: a fully automatic bean-to-cup unit fitted into a kitchen tower, with a display, a rotary dial, a bean hopper, a milk container and a pull-out water tank. The manuals cover the KKA894500M, the KKK994500 and the Series 8000 NKC8N7B. All three are rated 220 to 240 volts, 50 to 60 hertz and 1350 watts, with a 2.5 litre tank, and the KKK994500 and NKC8N7B manuals list a 15 bar pump. That is the right supply for a UAE kitchen, so voltage is not the problem it is with American machines.
The problems are different. A built-in machine usually has to be pulled out of its niche to be worked on. Its manuals name a branded descaler. This page works through the display messages, the troubleshooting tables and the descaling rules from AEG's own manuals and support articles, and says plainly where they stop.
Our technician reaches your kitchen on the day you message us in most cases. You hear what is wrong and what it will cost before any part is fitted, and he finishes the job there when the fault allows. A unit that must go to the workshop is disconnected, removed from the cabinet and collected by us.
A diagnostic visit is AED 100 plus 5% VAT. If a repair follows, it is quoted between AED 80 and AED 400 for the fault in question, and nothing starts before you say yes.
Read the model code off the front trim or the side of the machine, for example KKA894500M, KKK994500 or NKC8N7B, and send it with the message on the display.
Parts are genuine and the labour is in the quoted price.
A month of warranty covers each part fitted and the work done.
The kitchen is where we start; the workshop is for jobs that cannot be finished in place.

Where a repair would cost more than a replacement unit, we say so first. Replacing a built-in machine means matching the cabinet niche, which is a point in favour of repairing, and we explain both sides when we quote.

A Gulf retailer lists a 60 cm AEG built-in machine under the code PE4571-M with a removable 1.8 litre tank and no voltage in the listing. If your machine is not in the table, send the code and a photo of the fault.
AEG belongs to the Electrolux Group, but the Electrolux Arabia pages describe Electrolux products only. The sections below set out exactly what each page says.
SourceWhat it says
Electrolux Arabia contact pageLists an Al Quoz Service Centre for small domestic appliances, 4697 Al Quoz Industrial Area, Dubai, open Monday to Saturday 9.00 to 18.00. A UAE call centre number labelled for major domestic appliances, an email address and a WhatsApp number are given. The page names Electrolux only, not AEG, and does not say whether coffee machines are serviced
Electrolux Arabia warranty termsOne year from purchase for products sold in the UAE by authorised Electrolux dealers. Covers manufacturing defects. Repairs by the buyer or a third party without Electrolux's written approval void cover. Brand named: Electrolux
AEG manuals (KKA894500M, NKC8N7B)The NKC8N7B manual says machine repairs go through the Authorised Service Centre.
AEG UK websitePromotes a 5 year warranty on selected products. The page does not say which products or what conditions
Reading these together, we cannot confirm an official AEG coffee machine service channel in the UAE, and we name none. Ask the dealer who installed the unit who stands behind it. The Electrolux warranty page excludes repairs by third parties without written approval, so if you believe a warranty applies, ask before anyone opens the machine.
We are independent of AEG and Electrolux. If the warranty has ended, or the dealer cannot say who covers the machine, we give a one-month warranty on the part and the work.
Power and installation: what the AEG manuals require
Built-in machines are wired into the kitchen. The manuals give installation rules that matter when a repair goes wrong in a UAE flat or villa.
RequirementWhat the manual says
Supply220-240 V, 50-60 Hz, maximum 10 A, absorbed power 1350 W
SocketEarthed, with a minimum current rating of 10 A
CableTypes H05 VV-F or H05 V2V2-F (T90), 3 x 1 mm2 for a total power up to 2300 W; the earth wire 2 cm longer than phase and neutral
IsolationAn omnipolar switch with a contact distance of at least 3 mm must be installed
ExtensionsDo not use multiple sockets or extensions
Who installsQualified personnel only
A machine that goes dead after kitchen work may have lost its supply, so check the isolator and the circuit breaker first. That is our practice, not an AEG instruction.
Never pull a built-in unit out by its cable. Ask us to disconnect and remove it.
Do not run the machine while it is partly extracted from the cabinet. The KKA894500M manual says not to use the appliance when extracted.
The KKA894500M and NKC8N7B manuals list the same messages with the same meanings. Wording differs slightly between the two.
MessageMeaning and remedy in the manual
Empty ground coffee waste containerThe grounds container is full, or it is a periodic cleaning reminder to prevent mould. Empty, clean and refit it
Insert ground coffee waste containerThe container is not positioned correctly. Reinsert it properly after cleaning
Add pre-ground coffee or clean ground coffee funnelPre-ground was selected but none was added, or the funnel is clogged. Add coffee or clear the funnel with the brush
Ground too fineTurn the grind dial one click clockwise while the mill runs, then check after 2 coffees
Too much pre-ground coffeeChoose a milder taste or use at most one measure
Insert brewing unitThe brewing unit is not seated correctly. Reinsert it
Please descale your machineRun the descaling procedure on screen
Replace water softener filterThe filter is exhausted. Replace or remove it as the display says
Error occurred, contact technical assistance (NKC8N7B) or general alarm, refer to user manual (KKA894500M)The interior is very dirty. Clean it thoroughly; if the message persists, contact customer services
Store milk container in the fridgeThe milk container has been in the machine for more than 20 minutes
Assemble the spout on the milk containerShown on the first milk drink request. Follow the screen
The interior-very-dirty message is the odd one. The manuals use it as the stand-in for a general alarm, so a message that returns after a real clean is a fault, not a cleaning problem. That reading is ours.
ProblemPossible causeSolution in the manual

Noises or steam puffs when idleCondensate dripping into the vaporiserNormal; empty the drip tray
A third rinse requested after descalingThe tank was not filled to MAX during the rinsesEmpty the drip tray first, then follow the screen
Several of these rows are the same fault seen from different sides. A grinder set too coarse gives weak coffee and one set too fine gives drips, which is why the manuals insist on one click at a time.
1
Switch onThe adjustment is made while the mill is running, so start a coffee.
2
Turn one clickTurn the dial one click only. Clockwise toward 7 for a finer grind, anticlockwise toward 1 for a coarser one.
3
Wait for the resultCheck after 2 coffees, as the manual says.
4
Repeat if neededOne more click, and wait again.
The manual describes only this dial and these two directions. If the coffee stays weak at the coarsest comfortable setting, or drips at the finest, the dial is not the whole explanation, and a technician should look at it.
The KKK994500 manual gives the most detailed descaling procedure. The menu path differs on newer models, as noted below.
1
StartDescale when the display shows Please descale your machine. On the KKK994500 you can also press DESCALE to start sooner. Newer models: Menu, Cleaning, Descaling (KKA894500M) or Maintenance, Descaling (NKC8N7B).
2
PrepareRemove the water tank, remove the softener filter if fitted, and empty the tank.
3
MixPour the descaler to level A (one 100 ml pack), add water up to level B and refit the tank.
4
Empty traysEmpty and refit the drip tray and the ground container.
5
ContainerPut a container of at least 2.5 litres under the spouts and press OK. The cycle runs for about 25 minutes.
6
RinseEmpty the collection container, rinse the tank, fill it to MAX with fresh water, place the empty container back and press OK. Hot water runs from the coffee spouts first, then from the hot water and steam spout.
7
FinishWhen the tank is empty, reinsert the softener filter if you removed it, refill to MAX, reinsert the tank and run a final rinse with the 2.5 litre container in place.
The manual warns of danger of burns. hot water containing acid flows from the hot water and steam spout.
The cycle cannot be cancelled. It can only be interrupted temporarily with STOP (KKA894500M and NKC8N7B).
Use only the manufacturer-authorised descaler, code 9029798718 M3BICD200, sold through the AEG webshop. Using an unsuitable descaler or descaling incorrectly may cause faults not covered by the warranty (KKK994500).
The KKA894500M and NKC8N7B manuals do not state how long descaling takes. The KKK994500 manual says about 25 minutes.
If you cannot find it, tell us before you try something else in the tank. The manual's warranty warning is aimed at exactly that choice.
AEG's UK support site addresses a message on built-in machines that reads DESCALE MACHINE BLOCKED. It also mentions a countdown reminder, DESCALE 30 BEVERAGES LEFT.
ItemWhat AEG says
CauseWhen the descaling process is not done in time, the coffee circuit could be blocked
FixRun the descaling process described in the user manual. AEG recommends the descaling products in its webshop
Reminder messageDESCALE 30 BEVERAGES LEFT is a reminder that descaling is needed for the machine to work properly
ModelsThe article says integrated coffee machine and lists no model numbers
The support article does not say what to do if a correct descale does not clear the block. That is the case we are called to: a circuit that scale has narrowed will not always open on a normal cycle. We test the flow, the pump and the heater and clear what is stopping the water, and we quote before replacing parts.
Air bubble alarm and the empty water circuit
ItemWhat AEG says
MessageAir bubble alarm, on a built-in coffee machine with a display and rotary knob
CauseThe water circuit is empty, or the water tank is not fully inserted
FixPress OK to run water from the spout until it flows normally. Dispensing stops on its own
If it persistsMake sure the water tank is fully inserted
After a tank refill or a long idle spell, this is the first place to look. If the alarm returns with a full tank, correctly seated, and the circuit has been primed, a pump or a sensor needs testing.
CauseWhat AEG says to do
Cold cupsWarm the cups by rinsing them with hot water
The brewing unit has cooledIt may have cooled because some minutes passed since the last coffee. No specific fix is given
Temperature settingChange the set temperature. The KKK994500 menu offers Low, Medium, High and Max under Options
ScaleDescale whenever the machine prompts. AEG says descaling cleans the steam outlet and the hydraulic circuit
Persistent faultContact an Authorised Service Centre to request an engineer visit
The first three fixes cost nothing: warm the cups, raise the setting and answer any descale prompt. If all of that is done and the cup is still lukewarm, the heater or its sensor is the next test. That sequence is ours.
Beans, pre-ground coffee and the first week
Do not use green, caramelised or candied coffee beans. The KKK994500 manual says they could stick to the coffee mill and make it unusable.
Add pre-ground coffee only when the machine is on, and only when the display prompts for it. The manual warns that adding it with the machine off could spread it through the inside and dirty it. One level measure is the maximum.
If the display says Too much powder, use a milder aroma or reduce the amount.
The manual says to make 4 or 5 cappuccinos before the machine gives satisfactory results.
It also asks you to set the water hardness as soon as possible, so the machine can schedule descaling correctly.
The manual says such beans could make the mill unusable. A mill that has been coated that way needs stripping and cleaning, which is a repair. A new machine that tastes poor in its first days is, by the manual's own account, not yet at its best.
Making coffee and milk drinks: what the manuals set up
ItemWhat the manuals say
StrengthAroma runs from Extra Mild to Extra Strong
Cup sizeSmall to Extra Large, one or two cups
Favourite buttonPrepares your saved drink with one touch. Save as Favourite does not overwrite the current recipe; use Options and Keep Changes to change a recipe's defaults
SpoutsLower them as near to the cup as possible for a creamier coffee
Milk containerFill to no more than the MAX mark. Make sure the intake tube is correctly inserted in the bottom of the lid, then attach the container to the connection nozzle and push it as far as it will go
Milk typeSkimmed or partially skimmed milk at refrigerator temperature, about 5 degrees, for a denser, more even froth
Froth dialNo froth for latte or hot milk, minimum for latte macchiato, maximum for cappuccino or frothed milk
Hot water and steamAvoid splashes and hot steam, and do not leave the machine unattended while hot water is delivered
The troubleshooting tables tie milk problems to a dirty lid, milk that is too warm and the wrong type of milk. The KKA894500M manual also asks you to check the hollow and groove under the dial for residue, and to wipe the connection nozzle with a clean cloth every time you prepare milk.
Installing, moving and storing a built-in AEG
PointWhat the manual says
InstallerA qualified professional
Room temperatureDo not install where the temperature may drop to 0 degrees or lower
Over an ovenAllowed if the oven has a cooling fan at the rear
Cooling fanRuns whenever coffee, steam or hot water is delivered, and switches off by itself a few minutes later
Size594 x 454 x 412 mm (width, height, depth) for the KKA894500M.
Left pulled outDo not leave the machine pulled out of the cabinet when it is not needed
Idle 3 or 4 daysThe manual strongly recommends switching it on before use
Long disuseEmpty the water circuit first, then unplug it
AutostartThe time must be set correctly. The machine can stay in a ready-to-use state from 15 minutes to 3 hours
The cooling fan is a fault clue. A fan that runs and stops on its own after each drink is behaving as the manual says. A fan that never starts when a drink is delivered is not described in the manual, and a technician should look.
The brewing unit. soak it for about 5 minutes, then rinse. Do not use washing-up liquid and do not use force to remove it. If it will not come out, switch the machine off with the stand-by button or hold ON/OFF for 3 seconds.
The ground container. the machine cannot make coffee until it has been emptied and cleaned.
The drip tray has a red level indicator. Empty it before the indicator rises, or water can overflow.
The milk container. the thermal casing must not be filled with water or immersed in it. Clean it with a damp cloth. After a milk drink the machine asks you to clean the jug circuit; turn the dial to CLEAN.
The connection nozzle on the milk system. clean it with a sponge after each milk preparation to remove residue from the gaskets.
The hot water and steam spout. clean it after use to avoid build-up of milk residue.
No component goes in the dishwasher, except the milk container (KKK994500). The NKC8N7B manual says none of the machine components can be washed in a dishwasher.
Do not use solvents, abrasive detergents, alcohol or metal tools on the machine.
The two manuals disagree on the milk container and the dishwasher. If you are unsure, wash it by hand.
If the machine has been idle for 3 or 4 days, the KKA894500M manual asks for 2 or 3 rinse cycles before use.
Water hardness and the softener filter
DetailWhat the manual says
Default hardness levelLevel 4
ScaleLevel 1 is soft water, level 4 is very hard water
How to testUse the Total Hardness Test indicator paper supplied with the machine
Where to set itMenu or Settings, then Setup, then Water Hardness
Softener filterThe display says Replace water softener filter when it is exhausted; replace or remove it as instructed. Take it out before descaling
The manuals do not say what level to choose for any particular city, and neither do we. Use the test paper that came with your machine.
SettingWhat the KKK994500 manual says
Coffee temperatureLow, Medium, High or Max, under Options
Cup warmerOn or off, in the Basic Settings menu
Stand-byUse the ON/OFF/stand-by button. The machine rinses before going to stand-by
Auto offOn or off, with an automatic shutdown time
Water hardnessLevel 1 to 4, default 4
A setting that someone changed would explain a cooler cup, so check the temperature setting before you replace anything.
Never submerge the machine in water, and never touch it with damp hands.
Disconnect the machine when it is not in use and before cleaning (NKC8N7B manual).
Only qualified personnel should install it.
Keep children away from it. The KKA894500M manual says children should not play with the appliance.
Hot, acidic water comes out of the spout during descaling. Keep hands away.
A machine that trips the breaker, smells of burning or leaks water behind the cabinet should be switched off at the isolator until it is checked.

A new built-in machine has to fit the same niche and take the same wiring. Ask the dealer for the cut-out dimensions before you buy, and ask who services the brand in the UAE.
Is the water tank fully inserted, and has the circuit been primed with OK?
Are the brewing unit and the ground container seated?
Did you answer the descale prompt, and did the whole cycle finish?

We repair AEG coffee machines in Dubai Marina, JBR, Palm Jumeirah, JLT, Downtown, Business Bay, Jumeirah, Al Barsha, Dubai Hills and Deira. If you are outside those districts, ask us.
How much does AEG coffee machine repair cost in Dubai?
+
The visit is AED 100 plus VAT. Most repairs then cost AED 80 to AED 400, and you approve the price before we start.
Is there an AEG service centre in Dubai?
+
We name no AEG centre and are independent.
Does the AEG built-in coffee machine work on UAE power?
+
Yes. The KKA894500M, KKK994500 and NKC8N7B manuals state 220-240 V, 50-60 Hz, 1350 W, which suits a 230 V supply. The manuals require an earthed 10 A socket and an isolator.
What does Please descale your machine mean?
+
The machine needs the descaling cycle. Run it with the authorised descaler and let it finish; it cannot be cancelled, only paused with STOP.
What happens if I skip descaling?
+
AEG says the coffee circuit could be blocked when descaling is not done in time. The machine also shows DESCALE MACHINE BLOCKED.
What does Air bubble alarm mean?
+
AEG says the water circuit is empty or the tank is not fully inserted. Press OK to run water from the spout until it flows, and check the tank.
Why is my AEG coffee not hot?
+
AEG lists cold cups, a cooled brewing unit, the temperature setting and scale. Warm the cups, raise the temperature and descale if prompted.
Can I use any descaler in an AEG machine?
+
The manuals say to use only the manufacturer-authorised descaler, and that an unsuitable one may cause faults not covered by the warranty.
How do I change the grind on my AEG?
+
Turn the dial one click at a time while the mill runs: clockwise toward 7 for finer, anticlockwise toward 1 for coarser. Check after 2 coffees.
Can I put the AEG milk container in the dishwasher?
+
The KKK994500 manual allows it. The NKC8N7B manual says none of the machine components can be washed in a dishwasher. Hand-washing avoids the question.
The brewing unit will not come out. What now?
+
The manual says the machine was not switched off correctly. Hold ON/OFF for 3 seconds, and do not use force.
Is it worth repairing an AEG built-in machine?
+
Scale, brewing unit, grinder, pump and milk system faults usually are. For a board failure, compare our quote with a new unit that must fit the same niche.
