Overview

One Click Dubai repairs and maintains vending machines across Dubai, with a technician on site the same day. We work on every kind: snack machines, cold drink and can machines, combination machines, coffee and tea machines, fresh food and glass-front merchandisers, for offices, schools, hospitals, gyms, labour accommodation, malls and operators with machines on several sites.

A vending machine is four systems in one cabinet: payment, dispensing, refrigeration and control. A fault in any one stops sales. This page shows how to tell which system has failed, what you can check yourself, how each fault is repaired, and what regular maintenance involves.

The same visit covers the payment system and the refrigeration, so you do not need two contractors.

Vending machine repair in Dubai: the short answers

Vending machine repair in Dubai from One Click Dubai starts with a AED 100 diagnostic visit, plus VAT. The vending machine technician tests each system, reads the machine's error log, finds the fault and gives a fixed price before any repair.

Vending machine not working: five checks before you call

A vending machine not working at all, or refusing sales, can often be put right or at least narrowed down with five checks. They take ten minutes and need only the machine's key.

1
Power

Is the display lit and are the lights on? Check the wall socket with another device, the plug, and the breaker. Inside the door, check the machine's own power switch and any fuse or breaker on the power box.

2
Door switch

The machine knows when its door is open. If the door switch is stuck or misaligned, the machine stays in service mode and will not sell. Close the door firmly and see whether the display returns to its sales message.

3
Error message

Read the display. Most machines show a fault in words or as a code: out of service, exact change only, a selection number that is sold out or faulty, or a temperature warning. Open the service menu and read the error list if you know how.

4
Payment devices

Are the coin mechanism and note acceptor lit? A dark payment device has lost power or its cable. Check that each cable is firmly seated.

5
Restart

Switch the machine off at its internal switch, wait a full minute, and switch on. Watch the start-up: the payment devices should cycle and the display should settle on the sales message.

Tell us the result of these checks and the exact message on the display when you book. It usually lets the technician bring the right part.

Payment faults: coin mechanism, note acceptor and card reader

Payment faults are the most frequent vending machine problem, because the payment devices handle dirt, liquid and wear all day. Each device connects to the machine's controller over a shared cable, so one failed device can sometimes take the others down with it.

Vending machine coin mechanism repair

A coin mechanism sorts each coin by size, weight and metal, sends accepted coins to the change tubes or the cash box, and pays change from the tubes. Its coin path collects dust, lint and dried drink. Most coin mechanism repair is a careful strip and clean, followed by a test with every accepted coin. Parts that wear, such as gates, solenoids and payout motors, are replaced. Where the device is beyond economic repair, we fit a compatible replacement and program it for the machine's prices.

Bill acceptor or note acceptor not working

A bill acceptor, also called a note acceptor or validator, reads each note with optical sensors as rollers and belts draw it in, then pushes it into a stacker. Dirt on the sensors makes it reject good notes. Worn belts make it grip unevenly and jam. Cleaning the sensors and transport and emptying a full stacker cures most faults. A device that rejects a new design of banknote needs its software updated, not a repair.

Cashless readers

Card and phone payment readers depend on a data connection as well as on the machine. If the reader shows offline, the fault may be the mobile signal at the site, the antenna position inside a metal cabinet, the cable to the controller, or the payment account. We check the first three and tell you if the fourth is the cause.

Not dispensing: motors, spirals and drop sensors

A vending machine not dispensing has taken the money and failed to deliver, or refuses a selection outright. The cause is in the vend mechanism for that selection, in the sensor that confirms delivery, or in how the tray is loaded.

How a spiral machine knows it has vended

In a snack machine, each selection has a small motor that turns a spiral one full revolution, pushing the front product off the tray. A switch on the motor tells the controller when the turn is complete. Many machines add an optical drop sensor across the delivery area: if nothing breaks the beam, the machine turns the spiral a little more or returns the credit. When that sensor's lenses are dusty, the machine thinks every vend has failed.

Loading faults that look like breakdowns

Products loaded with the wrong side forward catch on the spiral.
Large bags placed in narrow-pitch spirals wedge between coils.
Light items such as gum hang on the last coil without a pusher.
Bottles of a new shape or size do not suit the column setting used for the old one.
Trays not pushed fully home leave their connector half engaged, and a whole row stops.

We check loading and tray configuration at every visit and show the person who fills the machine what to change.

Vending machine refrigeration repair

Vending machine refrigeration repair deals with drinks that come out warm, a cabinet that ices up, or a cooling unit that will not run. The refrigeration system in most machines is a self-contained unit, often called the cooling deck, that slides out of the bottom of the cabinet.

SymptomLikely causeRepair

Drinks warm, compressor not runningThermostat or temperature sensor, start relay or capacitor, overload, or the compressor itselfTest each in turn and replace the failed part

Water on the floorCondensate drain blocked or the evaporation tray overflowingClear the drain. Check the tray and its heater
Machine locks out chilled food selectionsHealth safety control: the cabinet stayed too warm for too longFind and fix the cooling fault, then reset
Runs constantly, high power useDirty condenser, worn gasket, hot locationClean, replace the gasket, improve ventilation

The first thing to check

The condenser coil sits at the bottom of the cabinet behind a grille and draws in floor-level dust. A blocked coil is the commonest cause of warm drinks, and it is preventable. Switch the machine off, brush and vacuum the coil along the direction of the fins, and check that the fan turns freely. Machines in dusty or outdoor locations need this every month or two.

Where the machine stands

A vending machine needs space behind and above for air to leave. Pushed tight against a wall, placed in direct sun, or standing in an unventilated corridor in summer, the cooling unit runs continuously and fails early. We check clearances at every visit. Outdoor and semi-outdoor machines in Dubai should be models rated for high ambient temperatures, and shaded.

Sealed-system work

Leaks, compressor replacement and recharging are carried out by our refrigeration technicians: the leak is found and repaired, the system evacuated, and the refrigerant charged by weight to the figure on the unit's plate. Where the cooling deck slides out as a unit, it can be exchanged or repaired in the workshop while the machine stays on site.

Display, keypad and control board faults

Display, keypad and control board faults stop a machine that is otherwise sound. They show as a blank or garbled screen, buttons that do nothing or act twice, or a machine that restarts by itself.

SymptomLikely causeRepair
Display blank, lights onDisplay cable, display module, or controller outputReseat the cable. Replace the display
Display garbled or flickeringLow or unstable supply voltage, failing power supply, poor earthTest the supply. Repair or replace the power board
Buttons not working, or one row deadKeypad membrane worn, ribbon cable loose or corroded, moisture behind the keypadClean and reseat the ribbon. Replace the keypad

Random faults that come and goLoose connector, damaged harness at the door hinge, corrosionTrace and repair the wiring
Controller deadBoard failure, often after a surge or liquid spillRepair or replace the board, then reprogram prices and selections

The wiring loom that passes from the cabinet to the door flexes every time the door opens, and after years it cracks inside its sleeve. Faults that appear when the door is moved are nearly always this. We repair the loom section, which costs far less than a new board fitted to cure a wiring fault.

After any board replacement the machine has to be set up again: prices, selection mapping, payment device settings, temperature setpoints and the clock. We do this as part of the repair.

Coffee vending machine repair and service

Coffee vending machine repair is a field of its own, because a hot drinks machine handles water, heat, powder and sometimes fresh beans and milk. Most of its faults come from scale, powder build-up and missed cleaning.

SymptomLikely causeRepair
No water, or a water errorSupply off, inlet valve blocked or failed, filter exhausted, level probe scaledRestore supply, clean or replace the valve, change the filter, descale the probe

Bean-to-cup: no coffee, grinder runsBrewer jammed or blocked, grinder burrs worn, no beans reaching the grinderClean and service the brewer. Replace burrs
Drip tray or waste full messageWaste container full, or its sensor stuckEmpty. Clean the sensor

Scale and the boiler

Every hot drinks machine heats water in a boiler, and heating water leaves scale behind. Scale coats the element so that it overheats and fails, blocks the outlet valves, and fouls the level probes so that the machine thinks it has no water. A water filter slows it. Descaling on a schedule prevents it. A coffee vending machine service always includes checking the filter, the boiler and every valve.

Hygiene

Powdered milk and chocolate set like cement in mixing bowls and whipper chambers when steam reaches them. The parts that touch product must be removed, washed and dried on a routine, daily or weekly depending on the machine and its use. We service tea and coffee machines fully and show site staff the daily clean, because no repair lasts on a machine that is not kept clean.

Snack, drink, combination and food machines: what differs

The type of machine decides which faults are likely. Knowing which you have helps you describe the problem.

TypeHow it vendsTypical faults
Snack, glass frontSpirals on traysHanging products, vend motors, drop sensor, tray connectors
Can and bottle, closed frontStacked columns with a release gateJams from wrong package settings, gate motors, sold-out switches
Drink, glass frontSpirals, shelves with pushers, or a lift that collects the bottleLift or elevator mechanism, belts, sensors
CombinationSnack trays above, chilled drinks belowAll of the above. Cooling limited to the lower section on some models
Fresh food and chilledSpirals or rotating shelves in a fully chilled cabinetTemperature lockouts, door seals, defrost
Hot drinksMixing and brewingScale, valves, powder systems
Frozen and ice creamChest with a pick-up arm or vacuum liftPick-up mechanism, lid seals, deep-freeze cooling

Machines with a product lift, which carries the item to the delivery hatch instead of letting it drop, have belts, guides and position sensors that need periodic adjustment. Soda and pop machines of the closed-front kind are mechanically simple and tolerate hard use, and their faults are usually a jammed column or a tired cooling unit.

We repair all of these. Tell us the make and model from the plate inside the door when you book.

Doors, locks, lighting and the cabinet

Faults in the cabinet itself are easy to overlook and often lie behind other symptoms.

Door gasket. a split or flattened gasket lets warm air into a chilled cabinet, causing icing and long compressor running. Close the door on a strip of paper. If it slides out freely, the gasket needs replacing.
Door switch. a faulty switch leaves the machine in service mode, or lets it run its fans with the door open.
Lock and handle. worn T-handles and locks stop the door pulling tight against the gasket. Damaged locks after a break-in attempt are replaced and rekeyed.
Lighting. failed tubes or LED strips make a machine look out of order and cut sales. Ballasts and LED drivers are replaced.
Glass and panels. cracked glass and damaged delivery doors are replaced.
Levelling. a machine that leans lets products slide forward and jam, and stops the door sealing.
Anti-theft devices. delivery-door baffles that are bent or broken trap products.

A machine that stands level, seals properly and is well lit sells more and breaks down less.

Vending machine maintenance cost

Vending machine maintenance cost depends on the type of machine, how many you have, where they stand and how often they are attended. A single snack machine in an office needs far less than a row of hot and cold machines in a hospital or an outdoor site.

FactorEffect
Machine typeHot drinks and fresh food machines need more frequent attention than snack machines
Number of machines and sitesSeveral machines on one visit cost less each
LocationDusty, outdoor or hot sites need more coil cleaning and wear their cooling units faster
Sales volumeBusy machines wear payment devices and motors sooner
AgeOlder machines need more parts
Visit frequencyMore visits cost more and prevent more breakdowns

A repair visit begins with the AED 100 diagnostic, plus VAT, followed by a fixed price for the repair. Maintenance for a group of machines is quoted after we have seen them. For an operator, the figure to set against the maintenance cost is the sales lost each day a machine stands out of service.

Repair or replace a vending machine

A vending machine is a sturdy steel cabinet with replaceable systems inside, and most are worth repairing for many years. The decision turns on the cabinet, the availability of parts and whether the machine can take modern payment.

SituationUsual decision
Payment device failedRepair or replace the device. The machine is fine
Vend motors, sensors, keypad, displayRepair
Cooling unit failed, sound cabinetRepair or exchange the cooling unit
Control board failed, parts availableRepair or replace the board
Control board obsolete, no partsConsider a controller retrofit, or replacement
Cabinet rusted, door will not sealReplace
Cannot accept card or phone payment and cannot be upgradedWeigh the lost sales against a newer machine
Repeated faults across several systemsAssess for replacement

Fitting a cashless reader to an older machine is often the upgrade that pays best, because many customers no longer carry coins. Most machines that use the standard payment connection can take one. We advise whether yours can.

Calling a vending machine technician: what to tell us

A few details when you call let the vending technician arrive with the right parts.

The type of machine. snack, drink, combination, coffee, food.
The make and model, from the plate inside the door or on the back.
The exact message or code on the display.
Which system is affected. will not take money, will not dispense, not cold, display or buttons, completely dead.
Whether it affects every selection or only some.
What changed before the fault. a refill, a move, a power cut, a spill, a new product.
Where the machine stands, and access arrangements for the site.

For operators, tell us how many machines are affected. If several on one site fail together, the cause is usually the electrical supply or the network, not the machines.

We cover all of Dubai, including Dubai Marina, JBR, Palm Jumeirah, JLT, Downtown, Business Bay, Jumeirah, Al Barsha, Dubai Hills and Deira. Related services: commercial ice machine repair, refrigerator repair and maintenance contracts.

Frequently asked questions

Who repairs vending machines in Dubai?

One Click Dubai repairs all kinds of vending machine on site, the same day. Call or WhatsApp +971 55 209 9785.

Why is my vending machine not working?

Check the power, the door switch, the message on the display and the payment device cables, then restart it. If it still will not sell, a payment, vend, cooling or control fault needs a technician.

Why is my vending machine not accepting coins?

The coin path or sensors are dirty or jammed in most cases. The coin mechanism is stripped, cleaned and tested.

Why is the note acceptor rejecting notes?

Dirty sensors, worn belts or a full stacker. A new banknote design may need a software update on the device.

Why does my vending machine take money and not dispense?

A vend motor, spiral position, drop sensor or loading fault on that selection.

Why are the drinks in my vending machine warm?

A dust-blocked condenser coil is the commonest cause. A failed fan, thermostat, start component or a refrigerant leak are the others.

Do you repair coffee vending machines?

Yes: descaling, valves, boilers, powder and mixing systems, brewers and cup dispensers.

Do you offer vending machine maintenance?

Yes, as single visits or on a schedule for one machine or many.

How much does vending machine repair cost?

The diagnostic visit is AED 100 plus VAT. The repair is quoted at a fixed price once the fault is found.

Can you fit a card reader to my machine?

On most machines with the standard payment connection, yes.

Do you sell or rent vending machines?

No. We repair and maintain them.

Is the repair guaranteed?

Yes, for one month on parts and labour.
