A Tassimo machine does not ask you to choose a recipe. You put in a T DISC, the machine reads the barcode printed on it, and it sets the drink itself. That barcode is why so many Tassimo faults look alike from the outside: a red light, a drink that never starts, a head that will not close. In Tassimo's own troubleshooting, a dirty scanner window, a creased foil, a pod put in before the machine was switched on and a head not fully closed all end in the same red cup light.
This page works through those symptoms using Tassimo's support pages for the Happy, Style, Suny, Vivy and My Way, the Tassimo descaling and troubleshooting pages, and Bosch's manuals for the older TAS series. The documents disagree on small but real details, such as the colour of the service disc, how long to hold the button and how many rinse cycles to run, so the page sets them side by side. Where they say nothing, we say so.
If your Tassimo is misbehaving, send us a message. We come to you, name the fault and the price, and only then touch a part. A machine that needs bench work leaves with us and returns once it is done.
The visit fee is AED 100 plus 5% VAT. Fixes are priced from AED 80 to AED 400 according to what is wrong, and we start only once you have agreed the figure.
Give us the model name (Happy, Style, Suny, Vivy, My Way) or the TAS number printed on the base.
Parts fitted are genuine; labour is inside the price you are quoted.
Each repair comes with a month of warranty.
We aim to finish at your address. The workshop takes what cannot be done on the spot.

The model name is printed on the base and on the box. A photo of it helps.
None of the documents describes the inside of the machine. They do name the parts you can reach, and every symptom in them is tied to one of those parts.
PartWhat the documents tie to it
T DISC and its barcodeUnreadable barcode, damaged disc or creased foil: the drink does not start. The barcode sets the recommended volume
Barcode windowA dirty window is a listed cause of a red cup light. Clean it with a soft damp cloth
Brewing head and clampA head not fully closed stops the brew. The lid must be pressed down until it clicks
Piercing unit and T DISC holderIf seated wrongly, the head will not close, or water drips from the head. Press the piercing unit into its holder with both thumbs
Drink outletClogged or dirty: poor crema, poor drink appearance
Water tank and floatA stuck float lights the fill-tank warning with water present, or leaves the brew running with no water out
Service discUsed for cleaning and descaling. Stored in a compartment on the machine
Descale lightLit red when descaling is due
The manuals also say who should open the machine. Bosch's text says only service personnel should repair or replace a damaged cord, and the Finesse manual says only trained specialists should repair the appliance, using genuine parts.

Voltage, plugs and what the UAE listings show
The Bosch manuals point to the rating label on the base, and the TAS100x text tells you to connect only to a correctly earthed socket. Tassimo's troubleshooting adds that if all warning lights flash, it is a power supply problem and an electrician should check the supply voltage.

Check the label on the base for the voltage before first use. On a machine meant for the UAE, the range should include 230 V.
A plug that fits the socket does not prove the voltage. The classified above shows a UAE plug and says nothing about voltage.
If all lights flash, Tassimo's page says to unplug for 10 seconds and plug in again. If it persists, have the supply checked.
If a machine dies on first connection, leave it unplugged and message us.

Red cup light and a drink that will not start
This is the entry the Tassimo pages come back to most. Tassimo's troubleshooting describes it as machine on, no drink starting, cup light possibly red, and gives three causes.
CauseFix on Tassimo's pages
No T DISC inserted, or the pod was put in before the machine was switched onUse an official T DISC. Switch on first, then insert the pod
Brewing head not fully closed, or the lid area is dirtyConfirm the head closes completely. Wipe the brewing unit, especially the lid area, with a soft damp cloth
Barcode not readSee the next section
The Bosch TAS40xx manual lists the same cause in its own words: the unit was off, no T DISC was in, or the barcode was unreadable. Its remedy is to switch on before inserting a T DISC, and to clean the barcode window or try another T DISC.
Switch the machine on before you open the head.
Insert the T DISC barcode side down.
Press the lid down until it clicks.
If the red light stays, move to the barcode section.
SourceWhat it says
Tassimo troubleshootingDirty scanner, damaged T DISC or creased foil. Clean the scanner with a soft damp cloth. Replace a damaged T DISC. For an undamaged one, smooth the foil with your finger
Bosch TAS40xx manualIf automatic mode does not start, clean the barcode window or try another T DISC. If the machine skips automatic and goes to manual, the barcode was not detected; hold start/stop to brew anyway
Bosch TAS4011 manualClean the reading window with a soft damp cloth, smooth the foil, try a new T DISC. If the problem persists, contact the Tassimo careline
Bosch TAS100x manualSmooth the foil, clean the reading window, or use a new T DISC. Use each T DISC once and do not use damaged ones
The manual-mode fallback on the TAS40xx is worth knowing. In our reading, a machine that refuses to read a pod but brews when told to by holding start/stop has a barcode problem, not a water or pump problem. The page does not say it works on other models.
If a clean window and a fresh pod from a new pack still give a red light, the fault is in the scanner or the control, and a technician should open the head.
SourceWhat it says
Tassimo troubleshootingBrewing sounds normal but no liquid comes out. Check the tank is seated correctly. Check whether the float is stuck; if so, clean the tank and free it. Do not remove the tank during brewing
Bosch TAS40xx manualCause: the tank was removed during brewing, or there is air in the system, or the float is stuck. Reseat the tank and run a cleaning cycle with the Service T DISC. Free the float
Bosch TAS4011 manualTank removed mid-brew or air in the system: run the cleaning process with the yellow Service T DISC. Float stuck: clean the tank and free the float
Three documents agree on the first checks. After that they point to the cleaning programme with the service disc, which pushes water through and can clear air. If you have done that and still nothing flows, scale in the water path or a pump fault is the remaining candidate, and neither can be judged without testing.
Fill the tank to the maximum mark and seat it firmly.
Free the float if it sticks. A stuck float is also a listed cause of the fill-tank light being on with water present.
Run the cleaning programme with the service disc once.
Do not pull the tank out mid-brew.

Leaking or dripping (Suny)Possibly a damaged T DISCRemove the pod, clean the machine, do not reuse pods. If the pod is undamaged, check the removable head parts and press the piercing unit in with both thumbs
The documents give different waiting times for a locked head, from waiting for the light to stop flashing to unplugging for 30 minutes. They also disagree on which family each applies to, so follow the line for your model.
Several of these entries end by handing you to customer service when the wait or the reseating does not work. A head that stays locked, a piercing unit that will not seat and a drip from an undamaged pod are repairs at your address.
SituationWhat the document says
No lights, machine seems dead (Tassimo troubleshooting)Press start/stop. If that fails, unplug, wait at least 10 seconds, and plug back in
All warning lights flash (Tassimo troubleshooting)A power supply problem. Unplug for 10 seconds and plug in again. If it persists, contact customer service or have an electrician check the supply voltage
Fill tank and descale lights flash together (Bosch TAS40xx)A fault. Switch off, wait about 5 minutes, switch on. If it persists, contact the careline
Tank and descale lights flash together (Tassimo troubleshooting)Drinks will not prepare; the page points to a cross-reference that does not match the water-flow entry, so we do not rely on it
Lid locked (Vivy)Unplug for 30 minutes and retry
All LEDs flashing (TAS100x)A fault. Unplug and contact customer service
These instructions are written for different situations and should not be merged. A light that comes back after any of them is a repair.

Do it about four times a year. Yellow Service T DISC, barcode down. Container of at least 500 ml. Hold start/stop for 5 seconds; the orange light turns on when the cycle ends. Rinse 3 to 4 times. Do not use vinegar or acid-based descalers

Bosch TAS40xx and TAS65xxUC manualsA special descaling agent (order no. 310967 on the TAS40xx), 500 ml of solution, container of at least 500 ml. Hold start/stop for at least 3 seconds on one page of the TAS40xx text and at least 5 seconds in the TAS40xx PDF, about 20 minutes, then empty the container, rinse the tank, and repeat four times. Never interrupt the programme, never drink the liquids, never use vinegar or vinegar-based products
Finesse TAS16B manualDescale immediately when the LED lights up. Do not use a descaling agent with phosphoric acid.
Where the documents agree: use a coffee-machine descaling product, never vinegar, put the service disc in barcode down, hold the start button, and run the clean-through cycles afterwards. Where they differ: the service disc is called yellow in some and orange in others and is stored on the bottom right or bottom left, the hold time is 3 or 5 seconds, a full cycle is 20 or 30 minutes, and the number of follow-up rinses is two, three or four.
Use the page for your model. If you do not know the model, tell us the label on the base.
Tassimo recommends only official Tassimo by Bosch descaling tablets. The Bosch manuals name their own agents. We do not recommend mixing the instructions.
Never interrupt the programme; the Bosch manuals say so.
Every descaling and cleaning cycle needs the service disc. The Bosch manuals give part numbers for it, and they differ by machine.

Happy, Style, Suny, Vivy, My WayA Service Disc kept in a compartment on the machine, bottom left or bottom right depending on the page
If the disc is lost or damaged, the TAS40xx manual says to order it from Bosch customer service.
Put the disc back in the machine's compartment after every use.
A machine bought second-hand without its disc cannot run the programme the manual describes. Check before you pay.
Tell us the model and we will say which disc your manual lists. We do not promise supply of Bosch parts.
Tassimo's descaling page says to descale about four times a year, or when the red indicator lights. We treat the indicator as the rule and four times a year as what Tassimo's page expects.
SituationOur reading of the documents
Indicator litDescale immediately (Finesse). The TAS40xx manual warns that skipping it can damage the appliance
Indicator not lit, about every three monthsTassimo's 'about four times a year' works out to roughly one descale every three months
Water treated with a chemical softenerThe Bosch TAS100x and TAS45xx texts say not to use chemically softened water
Soft water and the descale light is onThe TAS40xx manual says trace lime in all water can still light it; descale
Note each descale date on a sticker beneath the tank.
Use cool, fresh, non-carbonated water daily; the TAS100x text asks for it.
If the light returns within days of a full descale, tell us; the documents do not cover that.
The documents give no cup count, so we do not offer a cups-per-day table for Tassimo.
This procedure is ours, built on the documents above. The product, the disc and the steps are theirs. The checks in between are ours.
1
Match the modelThe label tells us which page above applies, because disc colour, hold time and rinse count differ.
2
Disc checkWe confirm the service disc is there and clean.
3
Baseline drinkOne drink first, noting volume and speed. The documents name a short or weak drink as a sign of scale but give no figure.
4
DescalerThe one the maker names for that model. Never vinegar.
5
ProgrammeRun through without interruption, container under the outlet.
6
Follow-up cyclesAs many as the page for your model lists, and more if the water still tastes of solution.
7
Second drinkCompared with the first. If the descale light stays on, we test the water path.
If the machine will not pass the solution through, the water path needs work before a descale can do anything.
Wipe the barcode window and the outside with a soft, damp cloth.
Rinse the water tank by hand with water only. The Bosch manual says its lid and the cup stand parts are dishwasher-safe.
Remove and clean the T DISC holder, the piercing unit and the drink outlet. The Bosch text says these are dishwasher-safe and that the piercing unit can be rinsed by hand between drinks.
Clean the brewing unit periodically with the Service T DISC.
Do not use scouring agents or steam cleaners.
Clean the machine before first use; the Suny page adds after a long period of non-use.
The Tassimo pages give the cleaning cycle in full for the Suny, Vivy and My Way. The container size differs: at least 250 ml on the Suny page and at least 9 fl oz on the Vivy and My Way pages.
Wrong drink size, weak crema and poor appearance
SymptomWhat the documents say
Too much drinkPress start/stop during brewing to stop the flow
Too little drinkPress and hold start/stop until the desired amount is reached, then release
Drink smaller than expected (Style, Happy, Vivy)Drink size is set below what you want; hold start/stop to fill the cup
Poor crema (TAS40xx)Clogged or dirty drink outlet. Remove and clean the outlet and the piercing unit
Poor drink appearance (Tassimo troubleshooting)Dirty machine or limescale. Clean the beverage outlet and brewing unit; if limescale is visible, run the descaling cycle
Wrong quantity (TAS100x)The T DISC sets the default volume; adjust by holding or pressing start/stop. Descale if the quantity is reduced
Water under the cup standCondensation. The TAS40xx manual calls it normal; wipe it up
The pattern in the documents: a short or poor drink goes first to the outlet and the piercing unit, then to scale. In our view, a machine that is clean, descaled and still short is a pump or sensor question.
Do not open the brewing unit during brewing. Wait for the orange light or for the status display to stop flashing.
Beverages are very hot, and the piercing unit and the T DISC can be hot after brewing.
Do not use the machine if the cord or the appliance is damaged. Only service personnel should repair or replace a damaged cord.
Never immerse the appliance or the cord in water. Unplug before cleaning. Do not use a steam cleaner.
Connect only to a correctly earthed socket, and do not operate the machine in a cupboard (TAS100x).
Never drink the descaling liquid.
Use the machine indoors, at room temperature, for household use (TAS40xx).
The household-use line matters for offices, as the next section says.
Offices and small cafés
The TAS40xx manual lists operating conditions: indoor use, room temperature, up to 2,000 metres above sea level, household or non-commercial use. A Tassimo in a shared kitchen is outside that description.
Ask the seller if the warranty applies to office use.
Log each descale with the date and a drink volume.
Count a week of drinks to see how quickly the indicator comes on.
Say how many drinks a day the machine makes. Commercial machines are serviced under a plan, with visits timed to the volume.
Plan terms are given on request; no price is listed here.
Buying a Tassimo second-hand or imported
Two points from the documents matter when you buy: warranty conditions are set by the local representative in the country of sale, and a claim needs proof of purchase. The checklist is ours.
Ask whether the machine was sold for the UAE. A UAE plug does not tell you the voltage; read the label.
Ask for the service disc. Without it, the programmes the manual describes cannot be run.
Open the head. Check that the piercing unit and T DISC holder are present and seat firmly.
Look at the barcode window for scratches or residue.
Check the water tank float moves freely.
Run a cleaning cycle with water and note how long the drink takes, so you have a baseline.
Expect no warranty on a used machine. Ask the seller in writing whether any remains.
T DISCs for your machine are listed on Desertcart UAE as import listings. Tassimo's support pages say all official T DISCs fit the Suny and the Vivy, and they do not name a pod that does not fit.

Tassimo visits cover Dubai Marina, JBR, Palm Jumeirah, JLT, Downtown, Business Bay, Jumeirah, Al Barsha, Dubai Hills and Deira. For anywhere else, send a message first.
How much does Tassimo repair cost in Dubai?
+
The visit is AED 100 plus 5% VAT. A repair is quoted at AED 80 to AED 400 depending on the fault, and work starts once you accept.
Is there a Tassimo service centre in Dubai?
+
Bosch's UAE site lists Tassimo models and a service line run by HOMEWIDE LLC, but its repair page does not mention Tassimo and publishes no Tassimo warranty terms. Ask them if your model is covered.
Why does my Tassimo show a red cup light?
+
Tassimo's pages list a missing T DISC, a head not closed properly and a dirty barcode scanner. Switch on before inserting the pod.
Why will it not read the barcode?
+
The documents list a dirty scanner window, a damaged T DISC and creased foil. Clean the window, smooth the foil, or try another pod.
Why does it brew but nothing comes out?
+
The tank may not be seated, the float may be stuck, or air may be in the system. The Bosch manual suggests the cleaning cycle with the service disc.
Can I descale with vinegar?
+
No. Tassimo's page and the Bosch manuals say not to use vinegar or vinegar-based products.
How often should I descale?
+
Tassimo's page says about four times a year, or when the red descale light comes on.
What is the service disc?
+
A disc used for cleaning and descaling, kept in a compartment on the machine and inserted barcode down. It is called yellow in some documents and orange in others.
Why will the lid not open?
+
On the Vivy the lid locks while the cup light blinks. Wait for it to stop; if it stays locked, unplug for 30 minutes.
All the lights are flashing. What now?
+
Tassimo's page says unplug for 10 seconds and plug in again, and have the supply checked if it continues. The TAS100x manual treats it as a fault and says to contact customer service.
Does my office Tassimo have a warranty?
+
The Bosch TAS40xx manual describes household, non-commercial use. Ask your seller before assuming cover in a shared kitchen.
Is it worth repairing a Tassimo?
+
A scale or flow fault, or a head or piercing unit fault, merits a quote. If the figure nears a new machine's price, you hear it before work begins.
