Overview
Lavazza makes three kinds of machine that end up needing repair in Dubai. The A Modo Mio capsule machines sit in homes and small offices: the Tiny, Tiny Eco, Jolie, Jolie Plus, Jolie & Milk, Minu, Desea and Idola. The Lavazza Blue machines serve cafés and shops. The Espresso Point machines work in offices and hotel rooms. One Click Dubai repairs all three, at your premises, with a technician sent the same day.
The faults are shared more than you might expect. A lever that will not reach the brewing position, a red light that flashes, coffee that drips, steam escaping from the capsule compartment, and a leak at the front or rear account for most calls. Behind them sit a small number of causes: a full spent-capsule drawer, a clogged spout, limescale, or a capsule that is used, stuck or the wrong fit.
Lavazza machines are not all worth repairing, and this page is blunt about which ones are. It also covers a situation that catches many offices out: a machine that belongs to your coffee supplier, not to you.
Lavazza machine repair in Dubai: what we fix and what it costs
A Lavazza visit costs AED 100 plus 5% VAT, which pays for the technician to trace the fault. The repair is quoted separately as one figure, and the decision to proceed is yours. Expect AED 80 to AED 400 for the repair, depending on what has failed.
The usual Lavazza jobs follow, cheapest first. Read the order as a rough guide to cost.
Most of the dearer jobs trace back to scale. If a Lavazza is descaled every two or three months, the work stays at a seal or a spout. Leave it two years and the heater is next.
Which Lavazza do you have?
Look on the front for the model name, and underneath or behind the tank for the rating plate. Send us a picture of the plate and we can bring the right seals and spouts.
The A Modo Mio range is low priced, and a few of its machines cost less than a technician's visit plus a part. The Blue and Espresso Point machines are built for volume and repay a repair.
Does the machine belong to you? Supplier agreements and warranty
Before you pay anyone to repair a Lavazza in an office, a hotel or a shop, check how you came to have it. Commercial Lavazza machines, especially the Blue and Espresso Point models, are often supplied by a coffee supplier on a service agreement, a loan or a lease, tied to buying their capsules. If that is your case, repairs are normally the supplier's job and paid for by the agreement, and having someone else open the machine may breach it.
For a machine you bought, the first place to look is the warranty card and the receipt. Ask the seller who handles warranty work. Opening a machine that is still covered, or letting an unapproved repairer service it, can put the cover at risk.
When the warranty is over, the machine is yours and the fault is scale, we are the right call. A technician visits, the diagnosis is AED 100 plus VAT, the repair price is stated first, and the work carries a month of cover.
We have no link to Lavazza. If the machine should go back to the supplier or the seller, we say so before we start.
How an A Modo Mio machine works, and why the lever matters
On the Tiny and Jolie machines, you lift a lever, drop in a capsule, and lower the lever to the brewing position. The lever closes the capsule in its holder and lines it up with the water outlet. The pump then pushes hot water through, and the used capsule is released into a drawer when you lift the lever again.
The manual's remedy for a lever that will not reach the brewing position is to put it back to rest, load a fresh capsule properly and set it to the brewing position again. If a capsule is stuck, unplug the machine and take it out by hand.
A mechanism that has been forced is the main cause of repair on these machines. Do not press a lever that resists. Check the capsule first.
Lavazza lights: red, white and flashing
Lavazza's compact machines show faults through a small set of lights, and the manuals cover two clearly.
On the Tiny, a flashing red light is also given as a sign that the machine is broken, or that the capsule is not compatible. If you have been using non-Lavazza capsules, try a genuine one to find out.
Patterns differ by model, so your manual has the exact meaning. The rule that works everywhere: a light that clears after you act was asking for a job to be done, and one that returns at once means a fault.
No coffee, or coffee only in drops
When the machine runs and the cup stays empty, or the coffee comes out in slow drops, work through this list.
Start with the spout. It is a narrow channel, and dried coffee narrows it a little more each week. A thin pin or a soft brush, used with the machine switched off and cold, clears it. Do not force a metal tool into the outlet.
If a clean spout and a fresh capsule still give drops, descale, and then suspect the pump. A pump that works against scale gives weak flow and a loud noise, and it does not recover once the scale is removed if it has been run for a long time.
Steam from the capsule compartment
A puff of steam when you lift the lever after a drink is normal. A cloud of steam while brewing, or steam and no coffee, is not.
If none of these is the cause and steam keeps escaping around the capsule, the seal around the capsule holder is worn. Replacing that seal is one of the cheaper Lavazza repairs.
Lavazza leaks: front and rear
The two places a small Lavazza leaks from point to different causes.
A damp rear usually comes from the tank. Take it off, dry the seat and put it back until it clicks. Check it for hairline cracks by holding it up to the light.
A leak from beneath the machine is the one to treat as urgent. Switch off at the wall, because water near the electrics is dangerous, and a technician should look before it is used again.
Cold coffee, long heat-up and a noisy machine
The manuals tie three complaints to one cause: limescale.
Descale first, with a product sold for coffee machines. White vinegar is the wrong choice, because it can attack rubber seals and metal parts, leaves its smell and descales less well.
If descaling changes nothing, the heater, a thermostat or the pump is to blame. Each is tested before it is replaced, so you never pay for a part that was not at fault.
Descaling a Lavazza machine
Lavazza machines should be descaled about every two to three months, and more often if the machine gets heavy use or your water is hard. Many models flash a light when it is due.
Switch the machine on, empty the capsule drawer and take out any capsule.
Add the descaler to the water tank as the pack says, then fill with water to the MAX line.
Put a large empty container under the outlet.
Run the descaling programme. A machine without an automatic cycle is descaled by pressing the espresso button repeatedly until the tank empties, following your manual.
Rinse the tank out, refill it with fresh water and pass at least two full tanks through the machine.
Empty the container, wipe the outlet and make a test coffee, then pour it away.
Do not stop a descaling programme in the middle. If your machine has an automatic cycle, let it finish. If the machine has gone a long time without a descale, a second round may be needed, and a technician can flush it thoroughly on site.
Dead machine, no lights
A Lavazza that does nothing when you press the button has a short list of causes.
Do not open a dead machine yourself, least of all while it is plugged in. After a spill, leave it unplugged until it has been checked.
Milk-capable A Modo Mio machines
Machines built to make milk drinks, such as the Jolie & Milk and the Minu Caffè Latte, have a path for milk that the basic machines do not. That path needs cleaning.
A sour smell from the milk system means it has not been cleaned well enough. We deep-clean the circuit on site and replace any tube that has gone brittle.
The five-minute check before you call anyone
Most Lavazza calls end with a fix that took five minutes. Run through this table in order, and note where the machine changes.
If all seven are right and the fault is still there, you have a real fault, and the diagnostic visit is the right next step. Tell us which steps you tried when you book, because it lets the technician skip straight to the likely cause.
Habits that damage a Lavazza
Machines of this size fail early when they are treated roughly. These habits turn up again and again in the machines we see.
None of these is dramatic. All of them shorten a machine's life, and all of them are easy to stop.
Water for a Lavazza: tap, filtered or bottled
Small capsule machines have narrow heating channels, so the water you use shows up in the machine within a year or two.
If the machine starts to heat more slowly, give cooler coffee or grow noisier, scale is already at work, whatever water you use.
Priming a Lavazza after it has run dry or stood idle
A Lavazza that has run out of water, been moved or stood unused for weeks can lose its prime. The pump runs and nothing comes out, or the first drink is a splutter.
Use fresh cold water and seat the tank until it clicks.
Leave the holder empty.
Press the espresso button and let water run into a container.
Run two or three more cycles. The flow should steady and the pump noise settle.
Use a fresh capsule and pour away the first cup.
If nothing flows after a few cycles and a descale, the pump or a blocked path is at fault. That is the point to book a visit.
Voltage, plugs and imported machines
Lavazza machines are sold all over the world, and many reach Dubai in luggage. Before you plug one in, read the plate.
If a machine has already been run on the wrong supply, stop using it and message us. A burnt heating element is a middle-to-upper repair, and we tell you whether the machine is worth it.
Lavazza Blue and Espresso Point machines in daily service
These capsule machines are built for continuous work, and the care that keeps them serving is mostly discipline.
Keep a log. A simple sheet taped near the machine, with the date and the initials of whoever cleaned or descaled it, stops tasks falling between people. When a fault appears, the log shows whether the routine was kept.
If the machine is supplied by your coffee company, they will often provide the descaler and the service. Use theirs, and tell them when something changes. If you own it, we service it, and we will tell you honestly whether the volume you serve is more than it was designed for.
Capsules: used, stuck and incompatible
A surprising number of Lavazza faults are capsule faults.
If a different capsule solves the problem, the machine was never at fault. If the problem stays with several fresh Lavazza capsules, it is the machine.
Which capsules fit which Lavazza machine
Lavazza runs three separate capsule systems, and the capsules are not interchangeable between them.
Nespresso and Dolce Gusto capsules do not fit any of them, and none of Lavazza's systems fit those machines. A capsule forced into the wrong machine can jam the holder and bend the lever. If a capsule does not seat easily, do not push it. Check the pack against the machine.
This is also why a machine bought on a trip can disappoint. Make sure you can buy capsules for it in Dubai before you buy the machine.
The Lavazza care routine
This takes minutes and prevents most of the calls on this page. A Lavazza kept to it tends to need a seal and little more.
Repair or replace a Lavazza machine
Lavazza's machines are priced very differently, and so is the answer.
Our limit is half the price of a similar new machine, and above it we advise buying new. On the cheapest Lavazzas we will say so when you message us, before you pay for any visit.
Lavazza in offices, shops and hotels
Blue and Espresso Point machines work all day, and they fail where a heavily used machine fails.
We also service larger commercial machines from other makers, and we can tell you if your Lavazza is working harder than it was built to.
What happens at a Lavazza repair visit
You give us the model, the light or symptom and a photo of the plate.
The tank, drawer, spout and lever are inspected, and a fresh capsule is used to see the fault for real.
Flow, noise and water temperature are checked, and the machine is inspected for scale and leaks.
The price is given once, with a straight answer if a new machine would be better value.
On your yes, the part is fitted at once if it is in the van.
A drink proves the repair, and the invoice carries a month of cover on the work.
A machine goes to the bench only if you agree.

Frequently asked questions
Who repairs Lavazza coffee machines in Dubai?
We repair them where they stand, in homes and offices, normally the same day. Message us on WhatsApp at +971 55 209 9785. A machine supplied by your coffee company should go to them first.
How much does a Lavazza repair cost in Dubai?
AED 100 plus VAT covers the visit. The repair then runs from AED 80 to AED 400 by fault, and the figure is yours before work begins.
Why is my Lavazza red light flashing?
The spent capsule drawer is full, or there is no water in the tank. Empty the drawer, reset the machine and refill the tank. If it returns, book a visit.
Why is my Lavazza white light blinking fast?
It points to a machine error. Unplug the machine, wait and plug it in again. If the light returns, the machine needs a technician.
Why will my Lavazza lever not go down?
A capsule is not fitted properly, or the lever is not at rest first. Return the lever to rest, load a new capsule correctly and lower it again. If it still resists, do not force it.
Why does my Lavazza only drip?
The dispensing spout may be clogged, there may be limescale, or the capsule may be faulty. Clean the spout, descale and try a new capsule.
Why is steam coming from my Lavazza capsule compartment?
The capsule is used, the drawer is full or the spout is clogged. Empty the drawer, use a new capsule and clean the spout.
Why is my Lavazza leaking from the back?
The tank is not seated correctly or is damaged. Reseat it, and check it for cracks.
Why is my Lavazza coffee cold?
Limescale is the usual cause. Run the washing cycle and descale. If it stays cold, the heater needs checking.
Can I descale a Lavazza with vinegar?
No. Buy a descaler sold for coffee machines. Vinegar attacks seals and metal parts and leaves its taste.
How often should I descale a Lavazza machine?
About every two to three months, and sooner if the light flashes, the coffee turns cold or heat-up slows.
Can I use Nespresso capsules in a Lavazza machine?
No. Lavazza has three separate capsule systems, A Modo Mio, Blue and Espresso Point, and none fits a Nespresso or Dolce Gusto machine. Forcing a wrong capsule in can jam the holder and bend the lever.
My office Lavazza is supplied by our coffee company. Should I call you?
Call them first. A supplied machine is normally covered by the agreement, and having someone else open it may breach the terms.
Is it worth repairing a Lavazza A Modo Mio?
Yes for scale, a spout or a seal. On a very cheap model with a dead pump or board, often no. We say so before you pay for a visit.
