Overview

One Click Dubai repairs dishwashers at home across Dubai, with same-day visits and bookings taken at any hour. Dishwasher repair covers freestanding, built-in and integrated machines of every brand, and every fault: not draining, not cleaning, leaking, not starting, not heating and error codes.

Most dishwashers are repaired in the kitchen where they stand, and we keep about 90% of the parts we need in stock. We also install dishwashers, service them, and repair commercial machines.

This page explains what to check before you book, how to tell what is wrong from what the machine does, what each part costs in Dubai, and when a dishwasher is not worth repairing.

Dishwasher repair in Dubai: what we fix and what it costs

Dishwasher repair in Dubai from One Click Dubai starts with an AED 100 diagnostic visit, plus VAT, which finds the fault. You then get the repair price and decide. Market prices for the common repairs run from AED 80 for a spray arm to AED 800 for a control board, with most drain, valve and seal repairs between AED 120 and AED 350.

Five checks before you book

Five checks settle many dishwasher not working calls without a visit: the filter, the spray arms, the door, the water tap and the sink drain. They take ten minutes and need no tools.

1
Clean the filter

Twist out the cylinder filter in the floor of the machine and lift the flat mesh under it. Rinse both under the tap and brush off grease. A blocked filter causes poor cleaning, standing water and smells.

2
Check the spray arms

Spin each arm by hand. It should turn freely. Pull the arms off, most unclip or unscrew, and clear seeds and scale from the jets with a toothpick.

3
Close the door firmly

The machine will not start until the latch clicks. Check that a rack or a tall plate is not holding the door open by a few millimetres.

4
Check the water tap

The supply tap under the sink must be fully open, and the inlet hose must not be kinked behind the machine.

5
Run the sink

If the kitchen sink drains slowly, the dishwasher cannot drain either, because they share a waste pipe. Clear the sink trap first.

Settings that look like faults

Child lock or control lock. Hold the marked button for three to five seconds.
Delay start set by accident.
A cancelled cycle that needs resetting. On many machines, hold Start for three seconds and wait a minute for it to drain.
Demo mode, on a new machine, where the lights work and nothing runs.

If water is leaking onto the floor, switch the machine off at the socket and close the tap before doing anything else.

Dishwasher problems we repair, by symptom

Most dishwasher faults show up as one of ten symptoms, and each points to a short list of parts. The table matches what you notice to the usual causes and to what we do about it.

Dishwasher not draining

A dishwasher not draining leaves water in the bottom after the cycle. The cause is a clogged filter in most cases, then a clogged or kinked drain hose, a blockage at the sink waste, and last a failed drain pump. A little clear water in the sump under the filter is normal and keeps the seals wet.

1
Filter and sump

Remove the filter and feel in the sump below it for glass, bone, fruit stickers and labels.

2
Drain hose

Pull the machine forward a little and check that the hose behind it is not crushed or kinked.

3
Sink connection

The hose usually joins a spigot on the sink trap. Unscrew it over a bowl. Grease often blocks the spigot itself.

4
New installation

If the dishwasher has never drained since it was fitted, the blanking plug inside the new waste spigot was probably not cut out.

5
The high loop

The drain hose should rise to the underside of the worktop before dropping to the waste. Without the loop, dirty sink water runs back into the machine.

6
The pump

If the path is clear and the machine hums without emptying, or is silent when it should drain, the pump is jammed or has failed.

When the dishwasher and the sink both hold water

That is a blocked kitchen waste pipe, not a dishwasher fault. A plumber clears it, and the dishwasher then drains normally.

We clear the sump, the pump chamber and the hose, test the drain pump, and replace it when it has failed. A drain pump replacement is one of the quicker dishwasher repairs.

Dishwasher not cleaning dishes

A dishwasher not cleaning properly is usually short of water pressure, water temperature or detergent action, in that order. Where the dirt is left tells you which: the top rack, the bottom rack, grit on everything, or a white film.

What you seeLikely causeFix

Loading that defeats a healthy machine

A chopping board or tray along the front, blocking the detergent door.
Bowls nested inside each other.
A pan handle or tall glass that stops a spray arm turning.
Short eco programmes used for baked-on food.

If the arms and filter are clean and the dishes are loaded well, the fault is in the circulation pump or the heater, and needs testing.

Dishwasher not drying or not heating

A dishwasher not drying has one of two explanations. Either it is a model that dries by residual heat and has no drying heater, in which case plastics will always stay damp, or the machine is not heating the water, which leaves everything wet and usually not very clean either.

How to tell

Open the door carefully at the end of the main wash. A rush of steam and hot dishes means the heater works.
Glass and china dry but plastics do not. normal. Plastic holds little heat.
Everything is wet and cool, and greasy items are not clean. the water is not heating.
The cycle runs far longer than usual, or stops with a code. the machine is waiting for a temperature it never reaches.

Causes of no heat

Heating element or flow-through heater failed. On many European machines the heater is built into the circulation pump.
Temperature sensor faulty.
Heater relay on the control board burnt.
Low water level, so the heater's safety switch stays open.

What helps drying on any machine

Keep the rinse aid filled. It makes water run off in sheets.
Open the door a little when the cycle ends. Many newer machines do this by themselves.
Unload the bottom rack first, so water from cups above does not drip on it.
Choose a programme with extra dry, if your machine has one.

Dishwasher leaking

Where the water appears tells you where a dishwasher is leaking. Water at the front comes from the door. Water from underneath comes from the pump, the sump or a hose, and needs the machine pulled out.

Leak fromLikely causeFix

Under the sinkDrain hose loose at the waste spigotRefit and clamp
No visible water, machine stops with a leak codeWater in the base tray has lifted the flood floatFind and repair the leak, dry the base

Many dishwashers have a tray in the base with a float switch. When it detects water, the machine stops, runs the drain pump continuously and will not start again. Tilting the machine to empty the tray gets it going, but the leak that filled it is still there.

Dishwasher not starting, or stopping mid-cycle

A dishwasher not starting, with lights on, usually has a door latch that is not confirming the door is shut. With no lights at all, the fault is the power supply, the door switch or the control board. A machine that starts and then stops has detected a fault part-way through.

What happensLikely cause
No lights, no soundSocket or breaker, damaged cable, main switch or board
Lights on, will not startDoor latch, control lock, delay start, Start button
Starts, hums, no waterTap closed, inlet valve, flood hose tripped
Fills, then stopsCirculation pump not running, or a leak detected
Stops after about 20 minutesWater not heating
Runs, will not finish, pump runs constantlyWater in the base tray
Trips the breakerHeater leaking to earth, water on the electrics, pump motor
Buttons do nothingControl panel or its ribbon cable, often after moisture reaches it

Switch off at the socket for five minutes and try once. If the fault returns, book a visit, and send a photo of any code.

Not filling with water

A dishwasher not filling with water hums briefly and then stops or shows a water code. Check the tap and the hose first. After that, the cause is a blocked inlet filter, a failed inlet valve, or a flood-protection hose that has shut itself.

Inlet filter. a small mesh where the hose joins the tap. Grit from building tanks blocks it.
Inlet valve. an electric valve that opens to let water in. It can fail shut, or fail open and let water creep in when the machine is off.
Flood-protection hose. the bulky box at the tap end of some inlet hoses. Once it trips, it stays shut, and the hose is replaced.
Low pressure. common on upper floors served by a roof tank. The machine fills too slowly and times out.

Dishwasher parts we repair and replace

Nine parts account for most dishwasher repairs in Dubai: the drain pump, the circulation pump, the heater, the inlet valve, the door seal, the door latch, the spray arms, the racks and the control board. The prices are 2026 market ranges published by companies in the city, before VAT.

These figures show what the market charges and are not our fixed price list. Parts for Miele, Bosch and Siemens machines usually sit at the upper end.

Rusting racks can often be repaired with new tine caps and coating. A rack that has rusted through is replaced, because rust marks transfer to the dishes.

Dishwasher error codes: what the display means

A dishwasher error code names the function that failed. Use it to choose the check, and confirm the exact meaning in your model's manual, because codes vary between models and years.

BrandDrainWater supplyLeak in the baseHeating
Bosch and SiemensE24, E25E18E15E09
LGOEIEAE or E1HE
Samsung5C or 5E4C or 4ELC or LEHC or HE
Drain code. clean the filter, check the drain hose and the sink waste. On Bosch and Siemens, E25 often means the drain pump cover is loose or something is caught in the pump.
Water supply code. check the tap, the inlet hose and its filter.
Leak code. switch off and close the tap. Water has reached the base tray.
Heating code. the machine needs a technician.
Bosch and Siemens E22. the filter is blocked.

A machine with no display shows faults by flashing lights. Count the flashes or note which lights are on, and send us a photo.

Salt, rinse aid and white film

White film on glasses and chalky marks inside the machine come from minerals in the water or from detergent that has not rinsed away. A dishwasher has a built-in softener that needs dishwasher salt, and a rinse aid dispenser. Many owners use neither, and rely on all-in-one tablets alone.

What each one does

Dishwasher salt regenerates the softener, which removes the minerals that make scale. It goes in the screw-capped container in the floor of the machine. Table salt must not be used.
Rinse aid helps water run off, so glasses dry without spots.
All-in-one tablets contain some salt and rinse aid, enough for soft water. With harder water they are not sufficient alone.

Setting the machine for your water

Dubai's mains water is desalinated and is not especially hard when it leaves the plant, but it passes through building tanks and pipework that vary. The reliable way to know is a hardness test strip, sold with many dishwashers and cheaply in shops. Set the machine's hardness level to match, using the steps in its manual.

Removing film that is already there

1
Tell scale from etching

Soak a cloudy glass in white vinegar for five minutes. If it clears, it was scale. If it stays cloudy, the glass is etched, which is permanent and comes from too much detergent and very soft water.

2
Descale the machine

Run an empty hot cycle with a dishwasher descaler or cleaner.

3
Fill the salt and rinse aid

And set the hardness level.

4
Check the dose

One tablet per load. More detergent leaves more residue.

Scale on the heater makes it work harder and fail sooner, so this is maintenance as well as appearance.

Dishwasher repair cost in Dubai

Dishwasher repair cost in Dubai is typically AED 150 to AED 600, with most drain, valve and seal repairs under AED 350. Our diagnostic visit is AED 100 plus VAT. The ranges are 2026 market prices published by companies in the city, and are not our fixed price list.

JobTypical Dubai market range (AED)
Diagnostic visit80 to 150

Door seal100 to 250
Inlet valve120 to 280
Drain pump150 to 350
Heating element180 to 400
Motor or circulation pump250 to 500
Control board300 to 800
Service and descale150 to 300

The price depends on the part, the brand, and how the machine is fitted. An integrated dishwasher has to be released from the cabinets and pulled out before most repairs, which adds time.

Repair or replace?

Repair a dishwasher when the repair costs less than about half the price of a comparable new machine and the machine is under eight years old. Replace it when the tub has rusted through, or when a board or pump fails on an old budget machine.

SituationUsually better to
Drain pump, inlet valve, door seal, latch or spray arm, any ageRepair
Heater or circulation pump, machine under eight yearsRepair
Control board, mid-range or premium machineRepair
Control board, budget machine over eight yearsCompare both prices

A premium built-in dishwasher is worth more repair than a basic freestanding one, because replacing it also means matching the cabinet panel and fittings.

Dishwasher installation

Dishwasher installation needs three connections within reach, a cold water tap, a waste connection and a socket, and takes one to two hours. We install freestanding, built-in and fully integrated machines, including fitting the cabinet door panel.

1
Check the space

A standard machine needs an opening 60 cm wide, and a slimline 45 cm. The floor must be level and the connections reachable, usually in the sink cabinet next door.

2
Water supply

The inlet hose goes to a cold tap with a 3/4 inch thread. If there is no spare tap, a tee valve is fitted on the sink's cold supply.

3
Drain

The drain hose joins a spigot on the sink trap or a standpipe. The blanking plug in a new spigot is cut out. The hose is looped up to worktop height so sink water cannot run back.

4
Power

A socket in the next cabinet, not behind the machine, so it can be switched off without pulling the machine out.

5
Slide in and level

The feet are adjusted until the machine is level and firm, and it is fixed to the worktop or the cabinet sides so it cannot tip when the door is loaded.

6
Door panel, on integrated models

The cabinet door is fixed to the machine's door, and the door springs are adjusted for its weight, so the door stays where you leave it.

7
Test

A short cycle is run, and every connection is checked for drips.

Installation faults we are called to fix

Blanking plug left in the waste spigot. the machine never drains.
No high loop on the drain hose. dirty water and smells in the machine.
Machine not fixed. it tips forward when the racks are pulled out.
Door springs not adjusted. the door drops open under the panel's weight.
Hoses crushed behind the machine.

If the kitchen has no water or waste point near the space, tell us when you book. Connecting a dishwasher there needs plumbing work first.

Built-in, integrated, freestanding and countertop dishwashers

The type of dishwasher changes how it is reached and repaired, more than what fails.

TypePoints to know
FreestandingSlides out easily. The quickest to repair
Built-in, with its own frontFixed under the worktop. Released by screws inside the door frame
Fully integratedHidden behind a cabinet door, with controls on the top edge of the door. Hinges and door springs carry extra weight and wear sooner
Slimline, 45 cmSame faults in a smaller cabinet. Some parts are specific to the size
Countertop and portableSimple machines. Pump and valve repairs are worthwhile, and larger repairs often are not
Drawer dishwashersEach drawer is its own machine, with its own pump and lid seal

Dishwasher service and maintenance

A dishwasher service cleans the parts the owner cannot reach and checks the ones that wear. It restores cleaning performance that has faded slowly, and it finds a weeping pump seal or a worn door seal before it becomes a leak.

Filter, sump and pump chamber cleaned.
Spray arms removed and cleared.
Door seals cleaned and checked.
Inlet filter cleaned.
Machine descaled.
Drain hose, loop and waste connection checked.
Heating and a full test cycle confirmed.

What you can do

Rinse the filter every week or two.
Scrape plates. There is no need to rinse them.
Run a hot programme once a month if you mostly use eco or quick cycles.
Wipe the door edges and the seal, where the spray does not reach.
Keep the salt and rinse aid topped up.

Commercial dishwasher and glass washer repair

We repair commercial dishwashers and glass washers for restaurants, cafes, hotels and catering kitchens: under-counter machines, pass-through hood machines and glass washers. These wash in two to three minutes at high temperature and run all day, so wash pumps, rinse boosters, dosing pumps and door switches wear quickly.

Common faults. not reaching rinse temperature, poor results from blocked jets or scale, dosing pumps not drawing detergent or rinse aid, not draining, and door or hood switches.
Scale is the main enemy. A machine with no softener, or an exhausted one, scales its booster heater within months.
Visits are arranged outside service hours where possible.

Tell us the make and model and whether the machine has a built-in softener when you book.

Dishwasher brands we repair

We repair every dishwasher brand sold in the UAE, including Bosch, Siemens, Miele, LG, Samsung, Beko, Whirlpool, Electrolux, AEG, Ariston, Indesit, Smeg, Neff, Midea and Hisense. Bosch and Siemens machines share most of their parts and their error codes.

Send the model number from the label on the edge of the door when you book, so the right parts come with the technician.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a dishwasher repair take?

Most repairs take one to two hours. An integrated machine takes longer, because it has to be released from the cabinets.

Is a little water in the bottom normal?

Yes. A small amount stays in the sump under the filter to keep the seals wet. Water covering the floor of the machine is a drain fault.

Can I use washing-up liquid in a dishwasher?

No. It foams, and the foam pours out of the door. If it has happened, run rinse cycles with no detergent until the foam is gone.

Why does my dishwasher smell?

Food and grease in the filter, the sump and the door seal. Clean all three, then run a hot cycle with a dishwasher cleaner.

Why are my glasses cloudy?

Either scale, which vinegar removes, or etching, which is permanent. Fill the salt and rinse aid and use one tablet per load.

Do I need salt if I use all-in-one tablets?

With soft water, no. If you see white film, yes. A test strip tells you which.

My dishwasher trips the electricity. What is wrong?

Usually the heating element leaking current to earth, or water on the electrics after a leak. Leave it switched off and book a visit.

How long should a dishwasher last?

Around eight to twelve years. Clean filters and correct salt settings extend it.

Can you repair the machine the same day if a part is needed?

In most cases, because the common parts are in stock. If a part must be ordered, you are told the date before deciding.

Do you repair washing machines on the same visit?

Yes. Tell us when you book. See washing machine repair.
