Overview

One Click Dubai repairs Bosch hobs at home across Dubai, with a technician sent the same day. We repair Bosch gas hobs, induction hobs, ceramic electric hobs and domino units, as well as the hob tops of Bosch cookers and ranges, and fit genuine Bosch parts including replacement glass.

Bosch makes three quite different hobs under one name. A gas hob is burners, valves and a spark. A ceramic hob is heating elements under glass. An induction hob is power electronics that heat the pan itself. The faults, the tests and the parts have almost nothing in common, so this page takes each type separately and then covers what they share: the glass, the electrical supply, installation and cost.

Bosch hob repair in Dubai: the short answers

Bosch hob repair in Dubai from One Click Dubai starts with a AED 100 diagnostic visit, plus VAT. The technician tests the supply, the ignition or the heating zones, the controls and the safety devices, finds the fault and gives a fixed price before any repair.

QuestionAnswer
How soon can you come? The same day, at any hour
Which Bosch hobs?Gas, gas-on-glass, induction, FlexInduction, ceramic, domino, and the hob tops of Bosch freestanding cookers
What do you repair?Ignition, burners, gas valves, flame failure devices, jets, induction modules, coils, touch controls, ceramic elements, switches and glass
Which parts?Genuine Bosch parts, ordered by the hob's E-Nr
Is it repaired at home?Yes, in nearly every case
What does the visit cost?AED 100 plus VAT, with no night or weekend surcharge
Is the repair covered?Yes. One month on parts and labour

Every Bosch appliance has a rating plate with an E-Nr (the model number) and an FD (the production date code). On a hob it is on the underside, and it is repeated on a label in the instruction booklet. Send a photo when you book, since Bosch parts are specified by E-Nr.

Which Bosch hob do you have?

A Bosch hob is gas, induction or ceramic, and you can tell which in a few seconds. The type decides everything that follows.

TypeHow to recognise itHow it heatsTypical faults
Gas hob on stainless steelBurners, pan supports and control knobs on a steel topA flame at each burnerNot sparking, not lighting, flame going out, weak or yellow flame
Gas hob on glassThe same burners set on a black or white glass panelA flame at each burnerAs above, plus cracked glass
Induction hobFlat black glass, touch controls. A zone stays cool without a pan and only works with magnetic pansA coil under the glass creates a magnetic field that heats the pan baseNot turning on, pan not detected, error codes, a zone dead, fan noise
FlexInductionInduction with long rectangular zones that can be joinedSeveral coils working as one areaOne half of a flex zone dead
Ceramic (radiant) hobFlat black glass with zones that glow redA heating element under the glassZone not heating, zone stuck on full, cracked glass
Domino hobA narrow two-zone or single-burner unit, often fitted in a row with othersAny of the aboveAs for its type
Cooker or range hob topThe top of a freestanding Bosch cookerGas or electricAs for its type, with access from above

A quick test separates induction from ceramic. Switch a zone on with no pan. A ceramic zone glows red. An induction zone does nothing except flash its display.

Bosch gas hob troubleshooting: not igniting or not sparking

A Bosch gas hob not igniting has one of four causes that Bosch itself lists: dirt or moisture between the ignition plug and the burner, burner parts sitting out of position, no electrical power to the ignition, or a disrupted or damaged connection. The first two you can deal with yourself.

1
Check for a spark and a tick

Press and turn a knob. No ticking and no spark at any burner means no power: check the socket, the fused spur and the breaker.

2
Clean and dry the burner

Lift off the cap and the burner ring. Clean food residue from the ignition plug, the small white ceramic pin beside the burner, with a soft brush or a dry cloth. Let everything dry fully. A hob that was just washed or had a pan boil over will not light until it is dry.

3
Refit the burner parts correctly

The ring must sit on its locating lugs and the cap must lie flat and centred. A cap that is tilted or belongs to a different burner size stops the gas meeting the spark.

4
Check the gas

Is the isolation valve open? Is the cylinder empty, or the mains supply off? If no burner lights with a match either, there is no gas.

5
Try another burner

One burner failing points to that burner. All failing points to power or gas.

SymptomLikely causeRepair
Ticks, sparks, no flameNo gas, blocked jet, or the cap out of placeRestore gas. Clean the jet. Refit
Ticks at other burners, not at this oneIgnition plug cracked or dirty, or its lead offClean or replace the plug
No ticking anywhereNo power, failed spark generator, or the switch harnessRestore power. New generator or harness
Ticks continuously, even with knobs offMoisture in a knob switch, or a switch stuckDry out. New switch harness
Spark jumps to the side, not to the burnerCracked plug ceramicNew plug
Lights with a match, not with the sparkIgnition fault onlyPlug, lead or generator

Continuous clicking after cleaning is nearly always water in the switches beneath the knobs. It often stops by itself once dry. Switch the hob off at the socket overnight. If it returns, the switch harness is replaced. Our guide to a gas stove not lighting goes further.

Flame goes out when the knob is released

A Bosch gas burner that lights and then dies when you let go of the knob has a flame failure device that is not holding. Every burner has one: a thermocouple, the thin metal probe beside the burner, sits in the flame and generates a tiny current that holds the gas valve open. No heat on the probe, no gas.

CauseHow to tellFix
Knob released too soonHolds if you keep the knob pressed for five to ten seconds after lightingHold it longer. This is by design

Do not wedge a knob in or bypass a thermocouple. It is the device that stops unburnt gas filling the kitchen if a flame blows out.

Weak, uneven or yellow flames

A healthy Bosch gas flame is blue, steady and even all round the burner. A yellow, lifting, noisy or lopsided flame means the gas and air are not mixing as designed.

FlameCauseFix
Yellow or orange tips, soot on pansBurner ports or the air passage dirty, cap misplaced, or the wrong jets for the gasClean. Refit. Check the jets

LPG and natural gas

A gas hob is set up for one gas. Bosch hobs are supplied with a set of jets, and converting between bottled LPG and piped natural gas means changing every jet and resetting each burner's simmer screw. A hob run on the wrong jets gives huge yellow flames or tiny weak ones. We carry out gas conversion.

If you smell gas, do not operate switches or the hob. Close the isolation valve or the cylinder, open the windows and call from outside the kitchen.

Bosch gas hob error messages: E, F, F2, F4 and F5

Bosch gas hobs with electronic controls can show a letter or code on the display. Bosch's own support information gives two cases for gas hobs.

DisplayBosch's stated meaningWhat Bosch says to do
E or FAn electronics fault or errorDisconnect the power, wait briefly and reconnect. If the message stays, the hob needs service
F2, F4 or F5, with automatic ignition not workingThe electronics have overheatedTurn off all burners, or set them to the lowest level, until the electronics have cooled. If the code does not clear, the hob needs service

Overheating codes are often caused by large pans overhanging the control area, by cooking for a long time on every burner at full power, or by poor ventilation beneath the hob where an oven or drawer sits tight below it. If the code returns under normal cooking, the control module or its temperature sensor is at fault.

For any other code, note exactly what the display shows and when it appears, and tell us with the E-Nr. Codes differ between models, and we look them up for the specific hob.

Bosch induction hob not turning on

A Bosch induction hob not turning on is locked, unpowered or has a failed control or power module. Check the lock and the supply before assuming a fault.

SymptomLikely causeWhat to do
Key or lock symbol lit, controls do not respondChildproof lock onTouch and hold the lock symbol for about four seconds. See the manual for your model
Completely darkBreaker tripped, isolator off, or a loose supply connectionCheck the breaker and the cooker switch

Trips the breaker when switched onPower module short, or moisture inside the hobService
Switches off during cookingOverheat protection, or the automatic safety cut-out after a long period with no adjustmentCheck ventilation below the hob. Lower the load

An induction hob on a split supply can lose half its zones when one phase or one terminal link fails. A loose terminal at the connection block also causes intermittent shutdowns and scorched wiring, and it is one of the first things we check.

Induction zone not heating, or not detecting the pan

A Bosch induction zone that flashes and will not heat is not seeing a suitable pan. Induction only works with cookware whose base is magnetic and large enough for the zone.

SymptomCauseFix
Power level flashes, nothing heatsPan not magnetic, too small, or off centreTest the base with a fridge magnet. Use a pan that covers the zone marking
Works with some pans, not othersAluminium, copper, glass or non-magnetic stainless pansUse induction-rated cookware

Zone cuts out at high power, display shows a codeTemperature sensor under the glass, or overheatingService. Check ventilation
H or h shown after cookingResidual heat warningNormal. The glass is still hot from the pan

Induction power modules run hot and depend on the cooling fan and on air being able to get in and out beneath the hob. Bosch's installation instructions specify ventilation gaps in the worktop cut-out and the cabinet below. Where a fitter has blocked those, the hob overheats and its electronics fail early.

Touch controls, displays and beeping

Bosch touch controls sense a fingertip through the glass. Water, grease, a hot pan handle or a cloth on the panel all look like a touch, which is why most control complaints are cured by cleaning.

SymptomCauseFix

Bosch ceramic hob zone not heating

A Bosch ceramic hob zone not heating has a failed element, a failed limiter, a failed control switch or, on touch models, a failed relay on the control board. The zone either stays dark or glows only in part.

SymptomLikely causeRepair
Zone stays dark, others workElement open circuit, or its switch or relayNew element, switch or board

Breaker trips when a zone is selectedElement shorting to earthNew element

Ceramic elements are sized and rated for each zone and are ordered by the hob's E-Nr. Fitting one takes under an hour once the hob is lifted from the worktop.

Cracked glass and Bosch hob glass replacement

A cracked Bosch hob must not be used. On an electric hob, liquid can pass through the crack to live parts. On a gas-on-glass hob, a crack can run and the panel can fail under a hot pan. Switch the hob off at the isolator and keep it off until the glass is replaced.

DamageUsual causeOutcome

Pitting or a rough patchSugar or plastic melted and left to cool on the glassCosmetic if shallow. New glass if deep
White or metallic marksAluminium or copper pan bases, limescaleRemoved with a ceramic hob cleaner
1
Identify the glass

By E-Nr. The glass is printed and drilled for one model.

2
Disconnect and lift the hob out

Power off at the breaker. Gas disconnected on gas-on-glass hobs.

3
Transfer the components

Elements or induction coils, the control module and seals move to the new glass, or the new glass arrives bonded to its frame.

4
Refit and seal

With the correct clearance in the cut-out.

5
Test every zone

And test for gas leaks on gas models.

We fit genuine Bosch glass. On an older or entry-level hob the glass can cost a large part of the price of a new hob, so we give you both figures. See also glass cooktop replacement.

Tripping breakers and electrical supply faults

A Bosch electric or induction hob that trips the breaker has an earth fault in the hob, a supply that is too small for it, or a wiring fault at the connection.

When it tripsLikely causeRepair
As soon as the hob is poweredMoisture inside, or a shorted power module or filterDry out and test. Replace the failed part
When one zone is selectedThat element or coil shorting to earthReplace it
With several zones on highCircuit or breaker undersized for the hob's full loadAn electrician's upgrade of the circuit
After a boil-overLiquid through a crack or a failed sealDry, find the path, reseal or replace the glass
RandomlyLoose terminal at the connection block or the cooker switchRemake the connection

A four-zone induction hob typically draws around 7 kW at full load and needs its own circuit of the rating given on the rating plate. Plugging one into an ordinary socket circuit will trip it or, worse, overheat the wiring.

Genuine Bosch hob parts we fit

We fit genuine Bosch parts identified from the E-Nr, so that the part matches the hob's version and connections.

Hob typeParts
GasIgnition plugs and leads, spark generator, switch harness, thermocouples, gas valves, jets, burner rings and caps, pan supports, knobs
InductionPower modules, coils, temperature sensors, control and display module, cooling fan, filter board
CeramicHeating elements, energy regulators, control board, residual heat indicators
All typesGlass, seals and fixing clips

Burner caps, rings and pan supports are specific to the burner size and the hob range. A cap that looks right and is a millimetre out will give a poor flame and unreliable ignition.

Bosch hob installation

We install Bosch hobs, including the worktop fitting, the electrical connection and, for gas, the gas connection, jet setup and leak test.

PointRequirement
Cut-outTo the dimensions in Bosch's installation instructions, with the stated clearance so the glass is not under stress
VentilationThe air gaps Bosch specifies below an induction hob and at the back of the cabinet
Electrical supplyA dedicated circuit and isolator of the correct rating. Terminal links set for the supply
Gas supplyCorrect jets for LPG or natural gas, a suitable regulator, an accessible isolation valve and an approved hose or pipe
Leak testEvery gas joint tested before the hob is used
SealThe hob seal seated all round so spills cannot enter the cabinet
Above an ovenClearances and heat shielding as the instructions require

Bosch hob service center in Dubai

Our Bosch hob service comes to your kitchen. A hob is fixed into the worktop and connected to the gas or a dedicated circuit, so it is repaired in place, and you do not need to take anything to a service center.

Send the E-Nr and FD from the rating plate or the booklet.
Tell us whether the hob is gas, induction or ceramic.
Tell us which burners or zones are affected and any code on the display.
For gas, tell us whether you are on a cylinder or piped gas.
Clear the cupboard or drawer below the hob so the underside can be reached.

Most repairs take under an hour. Glass replacement and induction module work take longer because the hob is lifted out.

We cover all of Dubai, including Dubai Marina, JBR, Palm Jumeirah, JLT, Downtown, Business Bay, Jumeirah, Al Barsha, Dubai Hills and Deira.

Looking after a Bosch hob

A few habits prevent most hob repairs.

Wipe spills once the hob has cooled, and sugar spills at once, with a scraper made for glass hobs.
On gas hobs, dry the burners fully after washing and seat the caps flat before lighting.
Do not wash burner caps in the dishwasher unless the manual allows it.
Lift pans on glass. Do not slide them.
Use flat, heavy-based pans that match the zone size.
Keep the control panel dry and free of pans and utensils.
Do not store spray cans or cleaning products in the cupboard directly below the hob.
Have gas hoses and regulators checked and replaced by their marked date.
