Overview

One Click Dubai looks after Siemens washing machines in homes across Dubai, with a technician at your door the same day and bookings open round the clock. Siemens washing machine repair covers the iQ300, iQ500 and iQ700 ranges, built-in models and Siemens washer dryers.

Siemens owners call us most often about a door that will not unlock. After that come a drum that will not rotate, a weak or missing spin, and the E18 drain fault. This page takes them in that order, then covers leaks, the iQ ranges, parts, cost and care.

We fit genuine Siemens parts, ordered by the E-Nr on the rating plate.

Siemens washing machine repair in Dubai: what we fix and what it costs

For Siemens washing machine repair in Dubai, the first step is a diagnostic visit at AED 100 plus VAT. You then receive a fixed price for the repair. Siemens parts are at the upper end of Dubai market prices: AED 150 to AED 750 for a door lock, AED 200 to AED 400 for a drain pump, and AED 400 to AED 800 for an electronic module.

Siemens washing machine door locked: unlocking an iQ300, iQ500 or iQ700

A Siemens washing machine door is held by an electronic lock that releases only when the programme has ended, the drum has stopped and no water is detected. On an iQ300, iQ500 or iQ700 the steps to unlock it are the same, and they work in most cases without tools.

1
Check the programme has ended

The display shows End, or the Start light stops flashing. If the programme stopped part-way, select Drain or Spin and let it finish.

2
Look for water through the glass

If you can see water, the lock is doing its job. Drain the drum through the service flap, as described in the E18 section. Let hot water cool first.

3
Switch off the child lock

A key symbol means the lock is on. Hold the button marked with the key, or the two buttons joined by a key line, for about five seconds.

4
Wait two minutes

The lock contains a heated element that takes a minute or two to cool and release after the programme ends.

5
Reset the electronics

Switch the machine off at the socket for five to ten minutes, then switch on. Listen for the click of the lock.

If the door is still locked after all five, the lock has failed closed or the electronics are not releasing it. Use the emergency release below, or book a visit.

By range

iQ300. a dial and a small display or lights. The child lock is usually on the Start button, held for five seconds.
iQ500. a larger display with touch keys. The key symbol appears on the display, and the lock is on a marked key.
iQ700. a full touch display. Messages are shown in words, and the door lock symbol is shown on screen.

The emergency door release, and when to use it

Siemens front loaders have a mechanical emergency release behind the service flap at the bottom front. It opens the door when there is no power, or when the electronic lock has failed. Use it only with the machine unplugged and the drum drained.

1
Unplug the machine

And close the tap.

2
Open the service flap

It unclips at the bottom right of the front panel. A coin or a flat tool helps.

3
Drain the drum

Release the small drain hose, remove its cap and let the water out. Do not skip this: opening the door on a full drum floods the floor.

4
Find the release

It is a tab or loop, often coloured, beside the pump cover.

5
Pull it downwards

With a tool if it is stiff. The door releases with a click.

6
Open the door and unload

Then leave the machine off until the cause is found.

When not to use it

When the drum is still turning.
When the water is hot.
When there is water in the drum and you have not drained it.
As a routine. A door that needs the emergency release more than once has a failing lock.

Door not locking, and door lock replacement

A Siemens washing machine door not locking stops the programme before it begins. The Start light flashes, the door symbol stays on, or an E16 or E34 code shows. The causes, in order of likelihood, are something in the way, a worn latch, and a failed lock.

What happensCauseFix
Door will not push shutLaundry in the seal, or the drum overloadedClear the seal, remove some laundry
Door shuts, no clickLatch hook on the door broken or bentDoor handle and latch assembly replaced
Clicks, then releasesDoor hinge dropped, so the hook meets the lock off-centreHinge adjusted or replaced
Clicks, Start still flashesLock not sending its signal: failed lock or damaged wiringDoor lock replaced
Locks, then unlocks mid-programmeWorn lock, or a loose plug at the lockLock replaced, connection secured

A door lock replacement takes under an hour. The lock sits behind the front panel beside the door opening, and is reached by releasing the door seal's outer clamp. We carry genuine locks for the common iQ300 and iQ500 models, which answers the usual question about Siemens washing machine door lock price: the lock is one of the less expensive Siemens parts.

Our door locked guide covers other makes.

A Siemens washing machine service for a machine that still works covers the pump, door seal, drawer, inlet filter, shock absorbers and a hot maintenance programme.

Siemens washing machine drum not rotating

A Siemens washing machine drum not rotating, with the machine filling and draining normally, has lost its drive. On older and entry models that means the belt or the motor's carbon brushes. On iQdrive models it means the motor's electronics. A drum that cannot be turned by hand is jammed or has a seized bearing.

CheckWhat you findLikely cause
Turn the drum by hand, machine offTurns freely and quietlyBelt, brushes, motor or motor control
Turn the drum by handVery free, with no resistance at allBelt broken or off its pulley
Turn the drum by handStiff, or will not moveObject jammed between drum and tub, or a bearing seized
Listen when a programme startsMotor hums, drum stillBelt off, or the motor stalled against a jam
Listen when a programme startsSilence, then the machine moves onBrushes worn out, or no drive from the electronics
Watch the washDrum turns one way only, or in jerksMotor control or tacho sensor

iQdrive

Siemens iQdrive is a brushless motor. It has no brushes to replace, and it rarely fails mechanically. When an iQdrive machine's drum stops, the fault is usually in the inverter electronics that drive it, or in the wiring between the two.

If the motor hums and the drum does not move, switch off. A stalled motor overheats quickly.

Not spinning, or not spinning properly

A Siemens washing machine not spinning properly is usually protecting itself from an unbalanced load. The unbalance control tries several times to spread the laundry, and if it cannot, it spins slowly or not at all and ends the programme with wet clothes.

One heavy item, or a very small load. add a few towels and run Spin again.
Spin speed turned down, or a programme with a low maximum spin. check the setting.
Water not fully drained. the pump is partly blocked. The spin will not start with water in the drum.
Too much detergent. foam slows the drum and the machine holds back.
Unbalance on every load, even a full even one. shock absorbers worn, or the machine not level.
Wash works, spin fails, on an older model. carbon brushes worn.

A Siemens iQ300 not spinning after a move often has a drain hose kinked behind it. Check that before anything else.

Noise when spinning

A Siemens washing machine making noise when spinning has one of four causes, and the sound separates them.

SoundCauseUrgency
Deep roar, louder with speed, worse each weekDrum bearingsBook soon. Continued use damages the drum shaft
Banging, the machine movesUnbalanced load, feet not locked, shock absorbers worn, or transit bolts left inStop and check the load and feet
Metallic scrape once per turnBra wire or coin between drum and tubStop. It can puncture the tub
WhineMotor at high speed. Normal on brushed motors, quiet on iQdriveNone, unless it is new

Whether the bearings can be replaced separately depends on the tub fitted to your model. We check the E-Nr and tell you before quoting.

Siemens E18: not draining

E18 on a Siemens washing machine means the water is not draining away. Siemens gives two causes: a blocked drain pump, or a kinked or blocked drain hose. F18 on older models is the same fault. Siemens publishes a full procedure, and it ends with a test worth knowing.

1
Make it safe

Close the tap, switch off and unplug. Let hot water cool.

2
Drain the drum

Open the service flap, take the small drain hose from its holder, remove the cap and let the water run into a container.

3
Clean the pump

Unscrew the pump cover slowly. Remove lint, hair, coins and small objects from the cover and the housing.

4
Check the impeller

It must be able to rotate.

5
Refit the cover

Firmly, with its grip vertical. Close the flap.

6
Siemens's test

Pour one litre of water into detergent compartment II, start the Drain or Empty programme, and check for leaks. A working pump moves that litre out at once.

7
Check the drain hose

Straighten any kink. If needed, put a bucket under the siphon, loosen the clip, remove the hose and clean it and its connector.

If E18 still shows after that, the pump has failed or is not being powered. That is a pump replacement, which we carry out with the genuine part.

Siemens fault codes and display symbols

Siemens washing machines show faults as an E code, an F code on older models, or a symbol. Siemens and Bosch machines are built by the same group and share one code family, so the list below applies to both. Newer displays show two-part codes such as E:36 -10.

Code or symbolMeaningFirst check

E80A fault in the drive circuitRestart once, then book
Key symbolChild lock is onHold the key button about five seconds
Drum symbol with a dropletDrum cleaning is dueRun the drum clean programme

On an iQ300 with lights and no display, the fault is shown by which programme lights flash together. Photograph the panel and send it to us, and we will read the pattern for your model.

Restart once. A code that returns after one restart is a fault, and repeated resets only hide the pattern.

Not starting, and the Start button

A Siemens washing machine not starting, with the display on, is nearly always held by the door lock or a setting. A Start button that does not respond at all is a worn switch or a control panel fault.

Start light flashing, door symbol on. the door has not locked.
Key symbol on. child lock.
A finish time showing and nothing happening. Finish In is set.
Starts, then stops with E17. no water. Check the tap and inlet hose.
Start button does nothing, other keys work. the button or its contact on the panel.
No lights at all. socket, breaker, or the power module.
Touch keys erratic on an iQ500 or iQ700. moisture or residue on the panel. Wipe it dry and try again.

Leaking from the bottom

A Siemens washing machine leaking from the bottom has usually been stopped by its own leak protection before much water escapes. Machines with aquaStop have a float in the base tray that shuts the water and shows E23 when it senses a leak.

Where the water isLikely source
Front corner by the service flapPump cover not tight after cleaning
At the doorSeal torn or dirty
Below the drawerDrawer blocked or overdosed
Underneath, with E23Internal hose, pump seal, door seal fold or tub seal
At the tapInlet hose seal
Under the sinkDrain hose loose at the waste

With E23, close the tap, switch off and book a visit. The leak has to be found and the base tray dried before the machine will run again.

iQ300, iQ500 and iQ700: what the range means at repair

Siemens groups its washing machines into three ranges. The range tells you which features, and therefore which parts, the machine is likely to have.

RangeTypical featuresWhat that means at repair
iQ300Dial control, small display, speedPerfect, iQdrive on most current modelsSimple to diagnose. Lock, pump and brushes on older units are the usual jobs
iQ500Larger display, touch keys, aquaStop, i-Dos on some, varioSpeedAdds the dosing system and more sensors. Display faults appear
iQ700Full display, i-Dos, sensoFresh, Home Connect, larger drumsMore electronics. Module and sensor faults are more common than mechanical ones

Feature faults

i-Dos. the dosing pumps block if thick or dried detergent is left in the tanks. Rinse the tanks when changing product.
sensoFresh. uses active oxygen. A fault shows as a message, and the programme can be run without it.
Home Connect. a connection fault does not affect washing.
aquaStop. the inlet hose with a safety valve. It must not be cut or extended with ordinary hose.

Quote the E-Nr when you book, not only the range. Two iQ500 machines from different years can use different pumps and locks.

Siemens washer dryers

A Siemens washer dryer washes and dries in one drum, so it can have every fault on this page and adds a heater, a fan and a condenser for drying. It also uses cold water during the drying phase to condense the steam, which surprises owners who see the tap in use while nothing is being washed.

Washes but does not dry. the fluff path between drum and condenser is blocked, or the drying heater or its thermostat has failed.
Dries, but takes far longer than it used to. fluff in the air path, or a blocked condenser.
Stops in the drying phase with a water code. the machine needs water to condense, and the tap is closed or the pressure is low.
Door locked after drying. the drum is too hot. It releases when it has cooled.

Dry about half of what you wash. A washer dryer's drying capacity is smaller than its washing capacity, and an overfilled drum dries badly and creases. See washer dryer repair.

Siemens washing machine repair cost

Siemens washing machine repair cost in Dubai is typically AED 200 to AED 500 for a lock, pump, valve, brushes or seal, and AED 400 to AED 1,000 for a module, bearings or a motor. Our diagnostic visit is AED 100 plus VAT.

Siemens machines hold their value, so a repair under half the price of a comparable new one is usually worth doing.

Siemens washing machine installation

We install Siemens washing machines, freestanding and built-in.

1
Remove the transit bolts

At the back, usually four, with their sleeves. Fit the caps and keep the bolts.

2
Level and lock the feet

Tighten each lock nut against the cabinet.

3
Connect the aquaStop hose

By hand, to a cold tap. Do not kink, cut or submerge the valve end.

4
Fit the drain hose

At the height in the manual.

5
Power and test

Wall socket, then an empty hot programme.

For a built-in machine, the furniture door is hung on the machine and adjusted, and the plinth is cut so the service flap can still be opened.

Looking after a Siemens washer

A Siemens washing machine needs little care, and the little it needs prevents the two faults we see most: E18 and seal leaks.

Clean the drain pump every two to three months.
Run Drum Clean, or a 60°C or hotter programme with washer cleaner, once a month.
Wipe the door seal, including inside the fold.
Leave the door and drawer open between washes.
Wash the detergent drawer, and rinse i-Dos tanks when changing product.
Do not slam the door or pull the handle before the lock releases.
Check pockets before every load.
