Overview

One Click Dubai repairs Sharp washing machines at home across Dubai, with a technician sent the same day. We repair Sharp fully automatic top loaders such as the ES 7525T, Sharp twin tubs, front loaders and Sharp washer dryers.

Sharp top loaders are everywhere in Dubai villas, shared accommodation and older apartments, and they have a recognisable set of faults: the tub will not spin, the water will not stop coming in, or the water will not go out. This page covers each one, then twin tubs, start faults, leaks, front loaders, noise and installation.

Parts fitted are genuine Sharp parts, matched to the model number on the rating label.

Sharp automatic washing machine not spinning

A Sharp automatic washing machine not spinning has usually been stopped by its lid switch, by water left in the tub, or by an unbalanced load. If the Sharp washing machine cannot spin with the lid shut, the tub empty of water and the load even, the drive has a fault: the belt, the clutch, the motor capacitor or the drain motor that releases the clutch.

Why the machine refills when the load is uneven

When a Sharp top loader senses that the tub is swinging too far, it stops the spin, lets in some water, stirs the laundry to spread it and tries again. Owners sometimes read this as a fault. It is the balance correction, and it normally succeeds on the second attempt. If it repeats three or four times and gives up, redistribute the load by hand.

The parts behind a real spin fault

To spin, the machine must do two things together: open the drain and free the inner tub. One small drain motor does both, by pulling a cable that opens the drain valve and shifts the clutch lever. When that motor weakens, the valve opens only part of the way and the clutch stays braked. The motor capacitor is the other frequent part. It gives the main motor its starting push, and when it fails the motor hums and cannot turn a loaded tub.

Sharp automatic washing machine water not stopping, and water overflow

A Sharp automatic washing machine with water not stopping has one of three faults: an inlet valve that will not close, a water level sensor that never reports the tub is full, or a drain valve that lets water out as fast as it comes in. Which one depends on whether the water flows with the machine switched off.

TestResultFault
Switch the machine off at the wall while it is fillingWater keeps flowingInlet valve stuck open. Close the tap

Watch the levelNever rises although water runs inDrain valve open, or the drain hose siphoning

Inlet valve

The inlet valve is an electrically operated tap. Grit from the supply can lodge on its rubber seat and hold it open, and an old valve can simply stick. A valve that passes water with the power off is a flood risk, because nothing in the machine can stop it. Close the tap at the wall and leave it closed until the valve is replaced.

Water level sensor

The machine judges the level through a thin air tube from the base of the tub to a pressure sensor under the control panel. If the tube has slipped off, split, or filled with residue, the sensor never sees the pressure rise and the control keeps filling. This is the usual cause of Sharp washing machine water overflow. We refit or replace the tube, clear the air chamber at the tub, and test the sensor.

Drain valve and siphoning

If the water runs in and the level stays low, look at the drain hose. Water pouring from it during the fill means the drain valve is not sealing, usually because a coin or hair band is caught on its seat. On pump-drain models, a hose end pushed deep into a pipe below the tub's water level can siphon the tub empty as it fills.

Sharp washing machine not draining

A Sharp washing machine not draining has a drain hose that is blocked or set wrongly, a drain valve that is jammed shut, or a failed drain motor or pump. With the water not draining, the spin cannot start.

1
Identify the drain type

Most Sharp top loaders in Dubai drain by gravity through a valve. The hose leaves low at the back and must stay low all the way to a floor drain.

2
Check the hose route

No loops over a tap or sink edge on a gravity model, no kinks, and nothing heavy resting on it.

3
Check the hose end

Clear of standing water, and not blocked by lint.

4
Clean the lint filter

And look into the bottom of the tub for a small item over the outlet.

5
Listen at the drain stage

A click and a short hum below is the drain motor pulling the valve. If there is silence, the motor or the board's output to it has failed.

A Sharp automatic washing machine not draining after these checks needs the valve cleared or the drain motor replaced, both done from underneath in about 40 minutes. Pump-drain models have a small pump in place of the valve, and it fails in the usual way: jammed by an object, or burnt out. Our not draining guide has more on hose positions.

Sharp twin tub: spinner not working and timer repair

On a Sharp twin tub, a spinner not working is caused by the spin lid safety switch, the brake cable, the spin motor capacitor or the spin timer. Sharp washing machine timer repair, in practice, means replacing the timer, because these mechanical timers are sealed units.

SymptomCauseRepair
Spinner dead, no soundLid switch open, spin timer failed, or no supplySwitch or timer
Spinner hums, will not turnCapacitor failed, or the brake not releasingCapacitor, or adjust or replace the brake cable
Spinner turns slowly and shakesLaundry packed unevenly, or water not draining from the spin tubRepack, press the inner cover flat, check the drain

Wash timer turns, pulsator stillWash motor capacitor or beltCapacitor or belt
Wash timer does not tickTimerNew timer
Water moves from wash tub to floor during washDrain selector not sealingSelector valve seal

The spin brake matters for safety. The tub should stop within a few seconds of the lid being lifted. If it carries on turning, stop using the spinner and have the brake put right.

Twin tubs are simple, and every part on them is inexpensive. Unless the cabinet has rusted through, they are nearly always worth repairing.

Sharp washing machine Start button not working, or not starting

A Sharp washing machine with the Start button not working is usually not suffering from a bad button. The machine is refusing to start because it has no power, the lid is open, the child lock is on, or no water is arriving.

No lights. check the socket, the plug and the breaker. Press the Power button firmly for a full second before pressing Start.
Lights on, Start ignored. close the lid. Many models will not begin with it open.
Lights on, all buttons ignored. child lock. Hold the marked button or pair of buttons for a few seconds.
Starts, then stops and beeps within minutes. no water. Open the tap fully and check the inlet hose and its mesh filter.
Start works only when pressed hard. the button's contact under the panel membrane is worn, or moisture has got under the membrane.
Nothing works after a power cut. unplug for five minutes. If still dead, the control board's power supply.

Top loader control panels sit flat on the top of the machine, where water drips from wet hands and laundry. Over the years that moisture gets under the panel film and corrodes the button contacts. We replace the panel assembly or the board beneath it. Keeping the lid closed when the machine is idle slows the damage. See also our guide to a washer that won't start.

Sharp washing machine leaking water

A Sharp washing machine leaking water is losing it from a hose joint, the drain valve, the tub seal, or over the rim through overfilling. The moment the water appears tells you where to look.

WhenWhereLikely source
FillingBack of the machineInlet hose washer, or a cracked inlet valve

Filling, at the topOver the tub rimOverfilling. See the water not stopping section
SpinningSprayed inside the cabinetWater left in the tub by a slow drain, thrown out during spin
Front loader, washingBelow the doorDoor seal

An oily or rust-coloured stain under the centre of a top loader is the tub seal. Water is getting past it into the bearing and gearbox below. Caught early, it is a seal and bearing job. Left, the gearbox fails too.

If water is spreading, close the tap, unplug the machine and call us. More help is in the leaking guide.

Sharp front loaders: door locked, and washer dryer repair

Sharp front loaders and washer dryers are less common here than the top loaders, and they bring the faults of any front loader: the door lock, the drain pump, the belt and the heater.

Sharp washing machine door locked

The door stays locked while there is water in the drum and for a minute or two after the programme ends. If it remains locked, check for water and clean the drain filter at the bottom front, check for a child lock indicator, and unplug the machine for five minutes. A door that is still shut after that has a failed lock, which we replace from the front. Do not force the handle. See the door locked guide.

Dry about half of what you wash. The drying capacity is lower than the washing capacity, and both are printed on the label. More is on our washer dryer repair page.

Sharp washing machine noisy when spinning

A Sharp washing machine that is noisy when spinning has worn suspension, something loose under the pulsator, a failing bearing, or simply an uneven floor.

To test the suspension, push the empty tub down and let go. It should rise and stop. If it bounces up and down several times, the damping has gone. See the noise guide.

Sharp washing machine problems: a quick reference

Sharp washing machine problems come down to a handful of parts. This table brings the page together.

For a Sharp top load washing machine repair, most of these are finished within an hour of the technician arriving.

Sharp washing machine installation

Sharp washing machine installation includes unpacking, removing the transport packing, levelling, connecting water and drainage, and a test wash.

1
Remove the packing

Top loaders have a base insert under the tub that must come out. Front loaders have transit bolts at the back.

2
Level

Every foot firmly on the floor. An unlevel top loader stops for imbalance on most loads.

3
Connect the inlet

A new hose with its filter washer, on a tap that opens fully.

4
Route the drain hose

Low to the floor drain on gravity models. To a standpipe within the height limits on pump models.

5
Power

An earthed wall socket.

6
Test

A short wash, checking every joint and the spin.

On balconies, we position the machine away from direct rain and advise a cover, because water entering the control panel from above is a leading cause of board failure on top loaders.

Sharp repair cost, and repair or replace

Sharp washing machine repair in Dubai typically costs AED 150 to AED 350 at market rates for a lid switch, inlet valve, drain motor, belt, capacitor, timer or suspension set, and AED 350 to AED 800 for a control board, clutch, motor or bearing work. Our diagnostic visit is AED 100 plus VAT.

Sharp top loaders are durable, and many we repair are well over ten years old. The usual limit is rust in the cabinet base or the tub supports. If the metalwork is sound, the mechanical parts are worth replacing.

We cover all of Dubai, including Dubai Marina, JBR, Palm Jumeirah, JLT, Downtown, Business Bay, Jumeirah, Al Barsha, Dubai Hills and Deira. Other Japanese brands we repair include Panasonic and Toshiba. For all makes see washing machine repair.

Sharp control board and panel faults

A Sharp automatic machine that is dead with a good supply, ignores some buttons or stops at the same point in every programme while the part for that stage tests good has a fault in its control board or panel.

Power supply section. no lights, or lights that flicker.
Button contacts under the panel film. one or more buttons dead, or a button that acts as if held down.
Driver for the inlet valve, drain motor or main motor. that one function never switches on.
Corroded connectors. faults that come and go, worse in humid weather.
Buzzer and display. no beeps or missing digits, an early sign of moisture on the board.

We first test the valve, the drain motor and the main motor, because a shorted part will damage a repaired or new board. Component faults are repaired on the bench in our workshop while the machine stays with you. Where repair is not possible, a genuine Sharp board is fitted.

Residue, smells and marks on laundry from a Sharp top loader

Grey or brown flakes on clean laundry and a musty smell from a Sharp top loader come from residue between the inner and outer tubs, where detergent, softener and lint collect out of sight.

1
Run the tub clean programme

At the highest water level with a tub cleaner, and let it soak if the programme has a soak stage.

2
Run it again

The first run loosens the build-up and the second clears it.

3
Clean the lint filter and under the tub's top ring

Where scum gathers.

4
Use less detergent afterwards

And leave the lid open for an hour after washing so that the tub dries.

For a tub that is badly fouled, we remove the pulsator and the inner tub and clean both by hand. Coins and hair pins found under the pulsator are removed at the same time, which also cures many rattles.

Looking after a Sharp washing machine

A few habits prevent most Sharp call-outs.

Empty the lint filter every few washes.
Rinse the inlet hose filter twice a year, more often where the supply carries sand.
Keep the drain hose route clear and unchanged.
Spread the laundry evenly around the pulsator, and do not fill above the load line.
Keep the control panel dry and the lid closed when the machine is idle.
On a twin tub, set the wash timer only as long as the load needs, and never run the spinner without its inner cover.
Stand the machine clear of standing water to protect the base from rust.

A yearly service visit adds the parts you cannot reach: the drain valve, the belt, the suspension rods and the water level tube.
