Overview

One Click Dubai repairs Hotpoint washing machines in homes across Dubai, on the day you call. Hotpoint washing machine repair covers the Aquarius and later front loaders, Hotpoint washer dryers, and the American-style Hotpoint top loaders found in some villas.

A Hotpoint rarely stops without telling you something first. Its lights flash, a door lock lamp blinks, or the panel goes dark. This page starts with what those signals mean, then works through the door lock, draining, spinning, leaks from underneath, door seals, belts and noise.

We fit genuine Hotpoint parts, matched to the model and serial number on the label inside the door.

Hotpoint washing machine repair in Dubai at a glance

Hotpoint washing machine repair in Dubai with One Click Dubai is a home visit: a technician arrives the same day, diagnoses the fault for AED 100 plus VAT, and quotes a fixed price before touching a part. Most Hotpoint faults are finished in that one visit.

Hotpoint has built washers for several decades under different owners, so two machines with similar names can have different electronics. The model code on the door label, for example WMAQF or NSWM followed by numbers, is what we use to pick parts.

Hotpoint washing machine lights flashing: what the machine is telling you

Hotpoint washing machine lights flashing in a repeating pattern is the machine's fault signal on models without a number display. The control has stopped the cycle, and the combination of lights that flash is its way of showing a fault number from F01 to F18.

First, the reset Hotpoint recommends

Hotpoint's own first step for a control fault is to disconnect the machine from the mains for at least two minutes, reconnect it, wait 30 seconds and start the programme again. A one-off glitch after a power dip clears this way. A real fault returns, usually at the same point in the cycle.

Reading the lights

On a Hotpoint with a row or column of small progress or option lights, the fault is shown by which of those lights flash and which stay off. The layout differs between a horizontal panel and a vertical one, so the same fault can look different on two machines. Note exactly which lights are flashing, or film ten seconds of the panel on your phone and send it to us on WhatsApp. That is enough for us to identify the fault number before the visit.

What each Hotpoint fault number means

FaultHotpoint's descriptionWhat we usually find
F01Electronic circuit board faultMoisture or a failed component on the board. Try the two-minute reset first
F02Motor circuit faultWorn carbon brushes, a loose motor plug, or the speed sensor on the motor
F03Temperature sensing faultThe temperature sensor in the heater, or its wiring
F05Waste pipe blockage or pump issueA blocked pump filter or drain hose, or a failed pump
F06Door lock faultLaundry trapped in the door, a worn catch or a failed lock
F07Electronic circuit board fault or heating circuit faultHeater or its relay on the board
F08Heater faultOpen-circuit or earth-leaking heating element
F09Software faultBoard memory. May need reprogramming or a new board
F11Pump circuit faultThe pump motor winding or its wiring, as distinct from a blockage
F12Electronic control faultThe link between the display board and the main board
F13Dryer temperature sensing fault, washer dryers onlyThe drying sensor
F15Heater control faultHeater relay stuck, or the element
F16Drum lock position sensor fault, top loaders onlyDrum flaps open or the position sensor
F18Internal data errorTry the reset. If it returns, the board

Some Hotpoint models with a display also show H2O when no water is coming in. That is a supply check before anything else: the tap, a kinked inlet hose, or the small filter in the hose connection.

All buttons flashing, or warning lights that will not clear

A Hotpoint washing machine with all buttons flashing and no response to any press has a control fault it cannot recover from by itself. After the two-minute reset, if every light still flashes, the cause is most often the board, the door lock circuit or a shorted component such as the heater pulling the supply down. That is a job for a technician with a meter, and we carry boards and locks for the common models.

Hotpoint washing machine no power, no lights

A Hotpoint washing machine with no power and no lights has lost its supply before the control board, or the board's own power supply has failed. Start at the wall and work inward.

1
Test the socket

Plug in a kettle or a lamp. Many laundry sockets in Dubai apartments are on a switched spur, and the switch is sometimes above the worktop.

2
Check the plug fuse

A 13 amp fuse in the plug can blow on its own after years of heat. Replace like for like.

3
Check the breaker and the ELCB

If the breaker trips when the washer is plugged in, there is an earth fault inside the machine, usually the heater or the mains filter. Do not keep resetting it.

4
Try the reset

Unplug for two minutes and reconnect.

5
Look at the on/off button

On models with a push button, the button can stick in. On dial models, turn the dial fully to Off and back.

Inside the machine, the usual causes are the mains interference filter, a burnt connector at the board, or the board's power supply section. A heater that has split and leaks current to earth can also take the whole machine down, and it will trip the breaker as soon as the wash reaches the heating stage.

If the lights came back after a reset but the machine died again mid-cycle, tell us at which stage. Dying when the heating starts points to the element. Dying at the spin points to the motor circuit.

Hotpoint Aquarius door lock flashing, door locked and door that will not lock

A Hotpoint Aquarius door lock light flashing means the lock is changing state or has failed to. A slow flash for a few minutes after the cycle is the lock releasing. A rapid flash that never stops, with the door stuck shut or the cycle refusing to start, is a door lock fault, which Hotpoint lists as F06.

Opening a Hotpoint door that is locked

Never lever the door. With the machine unplugged for a few minutes, the lock on most Hotpoint front loaders cools and releases. If water is in the drum, drain it first through the pump filter behind the plinth at the bottom, with towels and a low tray ready, because several litres will come out.

If the door is still locked after that, the lock has jammed mechanically. A technician releases it from above, with the lid off, without damaging the door or the seal. Our guide to a door that is locked and won't open explains the method.

Replacing a Hotpoint washer door lock

The lock sits behind the front panel at the right of the door opening. We release the door seal's outer band, undo two screws, swap the lock and its plug, and refit the seal. It takes about half an hour. Where the fault is on the door side, we fit a new catch and handle set instead.

Hotpoint washing machine not draining

A Hotpoint washing machine not draining stops with water in the drum and, on most models, signals F05, which Hotpoint describes as a waste pipe blockage or pump issue. Hotpoint's advice is to check the pump filter and the waste hose before calling anyone, and that fixes most cases.

1
Unplug and prepare

Put towels down and a shallow dish under the filter cover at the bottom front.

2
Open the filter slowly

Turn it anticlockwise a little at a time and let the water run out in stages.

3
Clear the filter and the cavity

Coins, hair grips, underwire and tissue are the usual finds. Feel inside for the impeller and check that it turns.

4
Check the hose

Follow the grey drain hose to the standpipe or sink trap. Look for a kink where the machine was pushed back, and for a plug of lint at the spigot.

5
Test

Refit the filter firmly, run Drain or Spin and listen for the pump.

After cleaning the filterWhat it tells you
Pump runs and water leavesFixed. The blockage was at the filter
Pump hums, no water movesBlockage further along, or a pump with a stripped impeller
No sound from the pumpFailed pump motor or no power reaching it. On Hotpoint this may show as F11
Drains, then water comes backHose too low or pushed too far into the standpipe

Hotpoint washing machine not emptying is the same fault under another name, and the same steps apply. A Hotpoint washer that won't drain after all of this needs a new pump or a wiring repair, which we do at home in under an hour. The not draining guide has photographs of each step.

Hotpoint washing machine not spinning

A Hotpoint washing machine not spinning has either refused to spin for a reason, such as water left in the drum or an unbalanced load, or it cannot turn the drum at all. On Hotpoint front loaders with a brushed motor, worn carbon brushes are the leading cause of a drum that stops turning.

Water in the drum. no spin until it has drained. Treat it as a drain fault.
A single bulky item or a very small load. the machine tries several times to spread the load, then gives up and ends with wet laundry. Add or remove items and run Spin again.
Carbon brushes worn down. the drum turns weakly, sparks may be visible under the machine in the dark, and then the motor stops. Hotpoint's fault number is F02.
Belt snapped or slipped off. the motor is heard running, and the drum spins freely by hand with no resistance.
Motor speed sensor loose or failed. the drum jerks, races or does not move.
Board fault. the motor never receives power. Less common than the brushes, and tested after them.

Brushes are a wearing part, like brake pads. Most Hotpoint motors need a new pair somewhere after six to ten years of family use. We check the motor's commutator at the same time, because new brushes on a badly scored commutator do not last.

Newer Hotpoint machines with an inverter motor have no brushes. A spin fault on those comes down to the motor's control module or wiring, and we test both before quoting. The not spinning guide covers the checks you can do yourself.

Hotpoint washing machine leaking from underneath

A Hotpoint washing machine leaking from underneath is losing water from the pump area, an internal hose, the tub or the dispenser hose, and the stage of the cycle when the puddle forms narrows it down.

When the water appearsMost likely source
As soon as the machine fillsDispenser hose, inlet valve or a split in the fill hose inside
During the washDoor seal, tub seal or the sump hose under the tub
Only when it drainsPump body, pump filter seal or the drain hose joint
When it is offInlet valve passing water, or the tap connection
After the filter was cleanedFilter not seated, or grit on its rubber ring

Start with the filter: undo it, wipe the rubber ring and the thread, and refit it tightly. Then pull the machine forward and look at the hose connections at the back with a torch while it fills.

A Hotpoint washer leaking water from the centre underneath, with a rusty stain, usually means the tub seal has failed and water is tracking through the bearings. That machine will soon become noisy on spin. The earlier it is caught, the more of the machine is saved.

If water is spreading, close the tap and unplug the machine. We aim to reach an active leak within the hour. Slower leaks are covered in the leaking guide.

Hotpoint door seal replacement and belt replacement

Door seal replacement and belt replacement are the two wearing-part jobs we do most often on Hotpoint washers. Both are done at home, and both take under an hour on most models.

Hotpoint washing machine door seal replacement

A door seal needs replacing when it is torn, when it has a hole worn by a trapped object such as a bra wire, or when black mould has eaten into the rubber and will not clean off. Water running down the front of the machine during the wash is the usual sign.

The seal is held by two bands: a thin outer one around the door opening and a sprung inner one on the tub lip. On many Hotpoint models the inner band is easier to reach with the lid and the front panel loosened. We fit the new seal with its drain holes at the bottom and its locating mark at the top, then run a wash and watch the join.

To make a seal last, wipe the fold dry after the last wash of the day, leave the door ajar, and run a 60 degree or hotter wash once a month. Dubai's warm, closed laundry cupboards grow mould quickly on a seal that stays wet.

Hotpoint washing machine belt replacement

The belt needs replacing when it has snapped, stretched or started to shed rubber dust under the machine. Signs are a drum that spins freely by hand with no resistance, a slipping squeal at the start of the spin, or a burning rubber smell.

With the back panel off, the old belt lifts away and the new one goes on the motor pulley first, then is walked onto the drum pulley by turning the drum. The belt must match the model exactly, because the length and the number of ribs vary. A belt that keeps coming off is not a belt fault. It points to worn drum bearings or a loose motor mounting, and we check both.

A noisy Hotpoint washing machine

A noisy Hotpoint washing machine is telling you which part is worn by the kind of sound it makes and when. Listen for whether the noise comes on the wash, the drain or the spin.

SoundWhenLikely cause
Deep rumble that rises with speedSpinDrum bearings
Banging against the cabinetStart of spinUnbalanced load, worn shock absorbers or transit bolts left in
Rattle or click from the drumWashCoin or wire between the drum and the tub
Loud buzz or grind low downDrainObject in the pump, or a worn pump
Grinding from the drumWash and spinBearings breaking up, or a wire rubbing the drum
Repeated beeping, no cycleStart or endDoor not sensed, a paused programme, or the end-of-cycle alert
SquealStart of spinSlipping belt
Crackle with a burning smellWash or spinMotor brushes at the end of their life

A Hotpoint washing machine making a grinding noise should be stopped until it has been checked, because a loose wire can pierce the tub. A Hotpoint washing machine making a beeping noise with flashing lights is reporting a fault, and the lights section above applies.

Bearings are the expensive one. On many Hotpoint machines the outer tub is welded, so worn bearings mean replacing the tub assembly complete with drum bearings fitted. We confirm which type you have and give you the price before you decide. See the noise guide for sound-by-sound help.

Hotpoint washing machine service center in Dubai

If you want a Hotpoint washing machine service center in Dubai, our service is a technician at your door with the parts, so the washer does not have to leave your home for the usual repairs.

The visit runs in a fixed order. The technician asks what the lights did, runs the machine's test programme, tests the suspect part with a meter, and gives you the price. With your agreement, the part is fitted and a full cycle is run before the machine is pushed back and levelled.

We also service Hotpoint washers that are working: filter, pump housing, inlet screens, drawer and jets, seal, belt tension, brush length on brushed motors, and a hot cleaning cycle. Brushes caught at the service stage cost far less than a motor damaged by running them to the metal.

What Hotpoint repairs cost, and when to replace

Hotpoint washing machine repairs in Dubai typically cost AED 150 to AED 450 at market rates for brushes, belts, pumps, door locks, seals and heaters, and AED 400 to AED 1,000 for a control board, motor or tub assembly. The diagnostic visit is AED 100 plus VAT.

Hotpoint machines sit in the affordable part of the market, so the replace point comes sooner than on a premium brand. Small parts are nearly always worth fitting. For a tub or a board on a machine older than eight years, we will tell you plainly if a new washer is the better use of the money.

We cover all of Dubai, including Dubai Marina, JBR, Palm Jumeirah, JLT, Downtown, Business Bay, Jumeirah, Al Barsha, Dubai Hills and Deira. Hotpoint and Indesit machines share many parts, and we repair Ariston too. For every other make, see washing machine repair.

Hotpoint washer dryers and top loaders

Hotpoint washer dryers and top loaders have a few faults of their own on top of everything above, and we repair both types at home.

Washer dryers

A Hotpoint washer dryer that washes well and dries badly usually has a blocked drying duct. Fluff from the drum collects in the condenser chamber and the fan housing until warm air can no longer circulate. The laundry comes out hot and wet, or the drying time doubles. We strip and clear the duct, check the fan, the drying heater and its safety thermostats, and test the drying sensor that Hotpoint reports as F13.

Dry smaller loads than you wash. The drying capacity printed on the door is lower than the washing capacity, and a full wash load will not tumble freely enough to dry.

Top loaders

European Hotpoint top loaders have a drum with flaps that must stop at the top for you to open them. If the drum stops with the flaps underneath, or the machine reports F16, the drum position sensor or the flap catch is at fault. American-style Hotpoint top loaders with an agitator are a different design, with a lid switch, a drive belt or coupling and a simple timer or board, and we carry out repairs on those as well.

Hotpoint washing machine softener not draining

Softener left sitting in the drawer of a Hotpoint after every wash means the siphon in the softener compartment is blocked, or water is not reaching that compartment with enough force.

1
Take the drawer out

Pull it fully open and press the release tab, usually in the softener compartment itself.

2
Remove the siphon cap

It lifts off the softener compartment. Rinse it and the narrow tube beneath it in warm water.

3
Clean the drawer housing

Scrub the roof of the recess, where the small water jets become clogged with powder.

4
Check the dose

Fill only to the MAX line, and thin a thick softener with a little water.

If the compartment still holds water with everything clean, the inlet valve that feeds it is weak or the water pressure is low, and that needs testing on a visit.

Frequently asked questions

Why are the lights flashing on my Hotpoint washing machine?

The machine has detected a fault and stopped. Unplug it for two minutes and try again. If the pattern returns, note which lights flash and send us a video.

Why is the door lock light flashing on my Hotpoint Aquarius?

A slow flash after the cycle is the lock releasing. A fast, continuous flash with the door stuck or the cycle not starting is a door lock fault.

My Hotpoint washing machine has no power and no lights. What should I check?

The socket, the plug fuse and the breaker, then unplug for two minutes. If it is still dead, the mains filter or the control board needs testing.

What does F05 mean on a Hotpoint?

Hotpoint describes it as a waste pipe blockage or pump issue. Clean the pump filter and check the drain hose.

What does F06 mean on a Hotpoint?

A door lock fault. Check nothing is trapped in the door. If it returns, the lock or catch needs replacing.

Why is my Hotpoint washer not spinning?

Water left in the drum, an unbalanced load, worn carbon brushes or a broken belt. Brushes are the most common part to fail.

Why is my Hotpoint washing machine leaking from underneath?

Usually the pump filter seal, the pump, an internal hose or the tub seal. Note when in the cycle the water appears.

How much is a Hotpoint door seal replacement?

Market prices in Dubai run from about AED 250 to AED 450 fitted, depending on the model.

Can you replace a Hotpoint washing machine belt at home?

Yes. It takes under an hour, and we check the bearings and motor mounting at the same visit.

Do you fit genuine Hotpoint parts?

Yes, matched to the model and serial number on the door label.

How quickly can you come?

The same day, and within the hour for a leak.

Is there a warranty?

Yes. One month on parts and labour for every repair.
